I'm in Port Elgin and the staff and vet have always been wonderful to me and my pets. I took my 1…read moreyear old Pomsky to be neutered in Ripley and a woman behind a computer screen said there wasn't any Pomeranian in that dog the minute I walked in the door. Well I saw the parents and yes he's big. I picked a male and the largest of the litter. I paid extra to have pain medication for him on the way home and then when I called to see when he should have pain medication again I was told he wasn't given any. His chip says Husky cross which is fine and if that's how people see him however once again he is a Pomsky. I was asked if I would like his nails done free of charge while he was under and I agreed. Only to find that wasn't done neither. He's recovered fine however this left a really bad experience that isn't inexpensive and I expected a more professional staff especially because my experience in Port Elgin has always been exceptional.

We've been taking our dogs here for years. I really appreciate the attention they give to Morgan,…read more they are all so lovely with her. They listen to me and give me honest opinions. I drive two hours to take my dog to them because I trust them. I went to another clinic in the city and that vet had recommended unnecessary surgery to remove a fat lump off my dog that was right by her tail. My vet said if we went through with the surgery the site would have a hard time healing because of the location and it wasn't necessary as it wasn't causing her pain. I trust them and the advice they give.

Ever since The new owner of Clinton Veterinary the services have been going downhill they don't…read moretreat their patients the same. The last owner was so amazing and I travelled halfway across Canada come see her but now that she doesn't own it anymore the services are so bad there's new staff they are so rude and obnoxious. They make you feel like you are below them. I would totally recommend you not going to this veterinarian clinic in Clinton. When they treated my dog, I asked certain questions they were very stuck up like you don't know was the look in their face and All I want the vet was to do was explain things more clearly. And come to find out they also had the wrong medical chart up it wasn't even my dog good thing I did ask questions or she could've been treated for something that didn't even pertain to her. They should be on top of that , you would think that's important. They are not compassionate and they really don't care so why take your animals there I will not be. And the medication that they gave my dog cost $300 and it didn't clear up her infection, not even one little bit. The old staff was so much better it's a sin they are gone now. Especially the front staff was the rudest she tried to misconstrue everything that I try to say and when I ask questions she didn't want to answer them obviously you're not supposed ask questions I guess. They get very defensive and very fast. Almost to the point that she was calling me stupid in around about way. Please I beg you don't take your pets to this clinic I don't want anyone else to go through what I did this morning. Also I want to mention that when I first went into the clinic last week the vet was telling me that My dog had been in here for her teeth before not once has my dog been in there for teeth so I'm wondering when and I'm asking questions and come to find out she had the wrong dogs files. who's dog I don't know but none that didn't belong to me. Wrong charts for the wrong dog could've went severely wrong I am glad I stepped up and started asking questions. You would think they'd be on top of this.

I originally adopted my dog from an elderly couple that used to take him to this vet regularly for…read morehis check ups, I went to book him in for an appointment and spoke with a lady named Jackie, and she questioned where I've been taking him for the last few years and I told her the vet, her response was word for word " well you can take him back there..." i explained I was not happy with the other vet the last time I was there and jackie goes well we just don't want to take you on As a new client, I said my dog is not a new client as you have him on file which she told Me. she goes while you will just have to find another vet then. if this is the first impression you get in a 3 minute phone call, it was very unprofessional in my opinion and would absolutely not take my dog there after that conversation. it's a shame that this local vet treats anyone like this Don't take your animals there ever!

On August 3, 2022, I needed a vet as my dog was very ill and my vet's office (Clinton Vet Clinic)…read morewas not opening fulltime until the next day due to illness. I called them hoping to get an appointment then, but was advised by the Office manager that there were 5 others ahead of me, and she would provide me with a list of other vets to call. I was in shock and upset that after being with them for 2 years, they expected me to take her to another vet. I called Huebner's who was on her list and spoke to Jackie. I asked if Dr. Ridder was taking new patients as I had been thinking of transferring to Goderich due to the travel to Clinton. She was friendly and immediately said "yes" but once she found out I was with the vet in Clinton, her tone changed and she said something to the effect that if I was with them, then they didn't want my dog. It didn't matter to her that I knew my dog was really sick. I then called the Wingham Clinic who I had been with when I lived in Blyth. They said they would be happy to have Penny back as a patient, would request her file from Clinton, and to bring her in at 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, my girl was too sick and had to be euthanized. Maybe this is the reason there are no reviews for your clinic, except one bad one, and you don't exactly have a good reputation, unlike the every day reviews I read on Facebook praising the Wingham Clinic. I have never read any bad reviews for them. If my conversation with Jackie is an indication of how your staff is allowed to act so unprofessional with the public, I would never take a pet to your clinic or refer anyone else to you.

Traveling through the area today, we came across a kitten who had been hit by a car with injuries…read moreto his hind legs. No homes nearby to see if the kitten was theirs, so we googled nearest vet and brought it there. The receptionist was cold and callous. She told us there was no vet in to look at the cat and to go somewhere else. Ok, where? She rattled off a couple places, saying she didn't know if they'd take it but try them. We explained we're traveling through from out of state, we don't know the area so before we go off in search of another vet that can take the kitten, can she please call ahead to ask. This request was met by an eye roll, hugh annoyed sigh, and muttering under her breath. We were shocked. When you say zero compassion, that was this woman. There were no patients waiting in line. No phones ringing. Nothing else going on in the office. Here we are holding an injured kitten in a sweatshirt and this request was apparently a major inconvenience. I cant speak to the rest of the vet team or quality of care they can provide - since we weren't able to receive any - but allowing someone with this kind of attitude to be the face of your veterinary clinic makes me think you should go elsewhere if you want your animal treated with compassionate veterinary care.
