If zero stars were an option, that's what Kim's Wig Botik would get. My friend is going through chemo and losing her hair. We went to this store to try on wigs. She found what we were told was a dyable wig for $795. The color is far too dark for her, so she made the purchase based on their statement that it could be lightened. Jesse, the woman who sold the wig, said the wig could be dyed there or by a stylist. My friend has curly hair, and finding a wig for her has been a challenge. It turns out that the wig could not be dyed by a stylist. So we brought it back requesting a refund (and yes, I understand that they have a sign that says no refunds or exchanges; however, this was a purchase made on a false promise). My friend agreed to let them try to color it there for a very expensive price. The colorist did dye a small portion but then texted to say that while she was able to lighten that section, she would not dye the whole wig because she was afraid of the curl loosening. She glibly wrote that the wig was dried up front, waiting for pick up. We went to the store, but the manager was not there. The woman who sold the wig lied about what she told us. The conversation got heated, and we agreed to come back when the manager was there. We returned to the store last Saturday and met with the manager, Anna. She said she would make an exception and exchange the wig. Unfortunately, there were no other options in the inventory. My friend agreed that she would let them dye the whole wig, risking the curl. That's when they said they would not dye it because she was "too picky." "Too picky" because she chose a wig that she was told was dyable, and now they would not dye it? That makes zero sense. Then, the manager switched it to her being "harsh" in her requests. She was dismissive and clearly did not care about how she treated a customer. She refused to provide a refund. We left with the unwearable wig, $795, and made multiple trips to the store in hopes of finding a workable solution. They rudely refused. The manager and employees are deceitful, saying whatever will get them the sale, lying, switching stories, and giving customers the run-around. I am disgusted by the way they conduct business, especially as they are selling to people who really need an honest option and help. Please save yourself time, money, and energy, and do not purchase from them. In reading other reviews, we are not the only ones who they have taken advantage of. It's a shame this store is still in business. We have been to multiple other shops that are honest about their products, at Kim's Wig Botik - buyer beware. I would 100% recommend Kim's Wig Botik! First off, when I called initially to inquire about a wig for our teenage daughter with Alopecia, I was given Anna's sincerest apologies for what we were going through. Fast forward to the next day and we went in to Kim's with a very discouraged 13 year-old who has already been through so much with this disease. Anna and Jessie were there, they put one wig on my daughter, a Daniel Alain Follea Rene, (which we were very familiar with after doing our own research) and my daughters face lit up! SHE SMILED!! We purchased the wig, and then they walked her through how to put on and remove it, went through products we would need to care for it and how to maintain it's beauty. Well...all I can say is WOW! I now own the most beautiful human hair wig I have owned in 15 years! I'm in loooove. I list my hair with cancer 14 years ago s as bf have been wearing wigs and hair extensions ever since. My hair real hair was NEVER the same. I have owned expensive synthetic to 4000 real hair wigs over these years. I have invested crazy amounts of money in extensions and wigs. Well, after buying the most awful wig online, I decided I needed a new hair piece immediately. I always fret over buying from a boutique because they mark them up so high...but I was desperate. After going to 3 other shops, I ended up at Kim's. I ended up buying a human hair wig for 2000. I was totally depressed that I spent so much but I couldn't help myself. OMG!! This is the most luxurious, silky, thick, perfectly sized unit I have EVER owned!!! I am so in love. It's thick, unprocessed, fine hair that NEVER tangled. Even prettier when I washed it and styled it myself. It's like my own beautiful head of hair. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR! Skip the rest and go here. STAY AWAY from Kim's Botik! In Feb 2022, recently diagnosed with FFA, losing hair fast, desperate, knowing nothing of wigs and totally UNAWARE. I went into Kim's where I was nearly pushed into a chair, a wig similar in color to my bio hair was placed on my head and before I knew it Kim was cutting bangs into it! I looked at my husband and said "She's cutting this and I haven't even said I would buy it" My husband being supportive knowing the anguish I was feeling with my diagnosis said "It looks great babe" Less than an hour later I paid $4000. I wore this wig for over 3 months (It not fitting properly and wondering why there were hooks but nothing for the hooks to "hook" to) After research, looking at other wigs and a video consult with the manufacturer of the wig I bought from Kim I found out the wig is too big for me so she cut off the bands that tighten the wig, but left the hooks! In doing so she took the entire bottom half (Hair included) of the wig in an attempt to make the cap smaller. If I didn't have bio hair in the back to blend in this $4000 wig would not give me enough hair coverage. During the video consult the manufacturer was so APPALLED at the "CHOP JOB" she did, that they offered me a steep discount to send it to them to "try" to fix it. It makes me angry, sad and sick! It's criminal that someone like Kim and her business would take advantage of people when they are so vulnerable!! read more

I actually visited this shop a couple of months ago. I intentionally waited to give this review; I didn't want emotions playing in to it. Brand spanking new to the wig world, all I can say is that they definitely saw me coming. I was discouraged from shopping the selection and pretty much pushed into one wig. When I asked about the manufacturer information, I was told that they only go by serial numbers. It was a Henry Margu wig which I now recognize (it also has a HM tag inside lol) and know that it usually retails around $200 or less (after the substantial discounts most companies offer). I was quoted $500. At the time, I had no idea how to style or even put on a wig and so was thrilled to have any wig finally look good. After payment, the wig that I was given was the floor model that I had tried on. No box, not even a bag. A $500 purchase and not even a new wig in a box?! Again, I was totally ignorant and at the time didn't think much of it. I was just so overjoyed to finally get some help. The wig grip they sold me was listed at $39. I now know these same Milano grips go for about $10. I actually insisted that they include the grip - my way of trying to recoup a little cash. They were at least gracious enough to do so however it was very apparent that the owner was less than pleased about it. Later when I got home I could see the obvious signs of wear on the wig which was definitely used - but after some quick research I realized that they would never budge on any sort of monetary refund. Do not buy anything from them! Save your money! Their website states: "We want to ensure that you are 100% happy with your purchase. If you have any sales queries, do not hesitate to contact us via kim@wigs.market. However, if you feel the product(s) you purchased are not the best fit for your requirements and you attempted to resolve issues with our support staff, we want to make things right." I wasn't 100% happy with the product I received and they did not make things right and they didn't even attempt to make things right. Not anywhere on their website do they state that returns must go back to China. The address on the package I received had a USA address. Even their return page is broken for "reasons for return" so people can't even process returns on their website. I believe they deliberately ask customers to return items to China which would cost so much money and then they will invent a reason that they received the item in "unacceptable condition" so that they don't refund your money. They are a terrible company, their support team is discourteous, and their product quality is substandard. Stay clear of this horrible scammer of a company!! read more

I previously wrote that Kim had sold me (writing for my sister with cancer) a wig that didn't fit and that my sister hadn't said she wanted to buy. Now we have learned that the wig my sister bought for $3,400 was used, had been colored and had been altered by sewing in longer elastic to make it "fit" an adult. It was XX Small. My sister wears Medium. Anyone who walks into this business is risking a REAL FLEECING. Dishonesty on this level makes me sick. They are making a killing off of providing custom cut "synthetic" wigs. I stopped in and bought a wig because I was in a pinch, and didn't have time to go into Aurora, but I paid over $300 for a synthetic wig that was only slightly trimmed from its original condition. I'm not knocking them. If it works, it works. I know I won't be back. Besides it being nonsensical to pay so much for fake hair that wasn't created strand-by-strand specifically for your head, it's obvious the staff expects to serve clientele of a certain stature and demeanor so I felt a bit judged while visiting based on being questioned on my ability to pay and then being asked to pay upfront. read more

They lied to us then denied it. They sold my wife a wig (as a result of cancer) and told us it was real hair. $500 we paid for it. When my wife took it in to be styled, the stylist said it was not real hair...it melted. When we returned it to the store, the owner was rude and told us we were lying. She would not allow us to return the wig or even to give us any money back. They had synthetic wigs for about $50, and real hair wigs up to $2000. But they represented this wig as real hair at $500. She told us to donate it to the cancer society. She refused to give us any money back. She said it could be styled by getting it wet, and it would hold the shape after that. I'm 35 years old and sadly found myself in need of a wig due to chemo treatments for breast cancer. When my hair started falling out in clumps over a 24 hour period, I was desperate to find a wig before having to go to work the next day. It's a bit of a traumatic experience, but Kim at Kim's Wig Botik made it better. I was going to get a synthetic wig that wasn't great quality, but my mom and husband talked me into a premium wig made of real hair. I felt like it didn't look natural - it was too perfect, like a wig. But Kim cut and styled it, and even stayed an hour past their closing time for me. I was still unsure because even with a discount she gave me, it was way more expensive than what I originally thought I would have to pay. But Kim was very sweet, and gave me some other wig care items in addition to the discount. The next day I went to work feeling self-conscious and came home crying because it was uncomfortable and it felt fake. I went back to Kim's Wig Botik, and she changed the fit to make it smaller to fit my head and thinned it out to make it look even more natural. It took me awhile to get used to wearing a wig, but I actually get compliments on my "hair" and people are amazed that it's a wig (if I tell them). Kim is amazing! This boutique is amazing! Yes, if you want to get a nice quality wig, you're going to spend oodles, but it will be the best and she's not gonna over sell you just because. She's going to show you how to wear it and put it on. She's going to treat the customer looking for a synthetic just as nice as you looking for a real Caucasian ('Weighs less and costs more than an asian hair wig, who knew???) . This place is AWESOME! I came in with a unique situation needing a child's wig on short notice and these gals hooked me up! They were super friendly, they took time and care showing me options and hunting through their store for the right wigs, educated me on some basics, and helped me pick out the perfect wig, within my budget! They had to customize it to fit but they had me ready to go in less than an hour, and the price was right! It's top notch quality too. It sounds like they had fun making it, and I was tickled to see how they took pride in their work as they showed it off to me when I returned to pick it up! I work in a Cancer Center and see my patients go through so much, with their diagnosis, Prognosis, Treatment plans, and just the devastation of it all. I've had a couple of different patients that have recently bought wigs from Kim's store, and paid almost, $500.00 on a synthetic wig that came right out of the package!!! Nothing special even about the wig!!! Why are you charging people so much for wigs???!!! There is not ONE explanation on why in God's good name, that a wig of ANY kind, synthetic, or human, should cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars!!! Please for the love of GOD, DO NOT spend that kind if money on hair, there are SO MANY other cheaper options out there!! There are COUNTLESS beauty supply stores in the Aurora, Colorado area that you can purchase, Human, and synthetic wigs for much less, and I guarantee, they look MUCH better than Kim's selection. Oooof. If the prices weren't bad enough (sooo expensive) the hawkish sales pitch certainly did it in. Visited today with two adolescent girls who are going through cancer treatment. They needed a self-esteem boost and a wig would give them a sense of normalcy. The lady we worked with was nice- but totally focused on the sale. She pushed two wigs- $2000 and $2500 each and after trying on the first wig, seemed shocked that we weren't sold on the first try. My Mom needy serious attention to her wig! After a lot of research and a plane ticket from Texas, we found Kim! Her staff were very kind and attentive. Mom wasn't sure about this. We left the wig to be washed and styled from a picture Mom liked. Picked up the wig the next day, as promised. When Mom removed her turban to try the wig on, she needed to have what hair was left cut. Kim graciously, offered to cut it. Kim sold me a wig that is too big for my head for 1600.00. She stitched it up in the back as a fitting when I complained the first time. So I have a petite head and the wig comes down to my ear holes on each side. With way too much hair. Called her yesterday and she refused to answer one question; why did you let me walk out of you shop two times with a wig that's too big? SHE GOT FRUSTRATED AND HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. F, for having 'old lady' taste about what "THEY" think looks good on customers no matter how young or old the customer is. People who are seeking such intimate helps in times of need, ought be in soothing atmospheres, rather than having to listen to someone loudly squawking. Took my wig there and asked them to thin it. They were very friendly and kind, but they thinned it out wrong and basically ruined it. To thin wigs you have to save a top layer so all the small frizzy cut ends don't stick up like a cowlick. They didn't save that piece and I didn't know enough to stop her until it was too late. They also didn't thin it to my head shape so it still feels lumpy and big on one side, but now with a big cowlick of short spiky hair on my 12" long wig. They specialize in human hair. My wig was synthetic so maybe it's inexperience. They did show me some nice human hair wigs but at six times what I paid for a synthetic a I just couldn't squeeze it. I can't speak to HH piece pricing that might be right in line. I got the impression she was irritated I bought something online instead of shopping local, but I don't think she's any different then the other wig stores I've been to in that regard. read more

I think the selection Kim's offers is fairly good. I did feel it was more about the sale than about me; kinda pushy with their sales pitch. However, I did find something I liked and made the purchase. As soon as I got it home, I tried it on under natural light and much better indoor lighting (their studio is fairly dark). Not only was the color not good with my skin tone, but there is a little flaw in the wig. I took the wig back 24 hours later (with all labels still on) and I was basically told, "too bad, so sad". Apparently, the wig is not returnable once it leaves the store; something I did not know at the time of purchase (shame on me). I guess I figured for that amount of money, they would want you to be happy. Is it because it is not sanitary after trying it on home (different than trying it on in the store???) I was also very surprised to see they do not have head covers any more. You try on with just a headband holding your hair back. I find this VERY unsanitary. Wonderful and helpful the day i purchased my wig. I ranked them a 5 Star then. After my price was 5 months old it began falling apart. I spent 400.00 on this and was surprised that it was falling apart. I took it into the shop to fix after driving 30 miles. They were not helpful and pretty much said it was due to the way I cared for the piece and it was time for a new one. I cannot afford a new 400.00 wig every 5 months. Hi, I am new to the wig, scene, but have worn extensions for 20+ years. As all humans know, losing hair can be a demoralizing experience, especially if associated with illness, or in my case, domestic violence. I called around and decided to visit Kim after hearing other people's prices and feeling Kim really knew her stuff. Sure enough, I arrived, and she was warm, gracious, empathetic and didn't try to oversell me. I bought a 100% Korean human hair wig with machine made cap that needed styling and a good bang cut. Being in a hurry, I paid the 500.00 and left, not realizing the cap seemed too loose for my head, even with the wig band, until returning home. I returned the next day and spoke with Linda, who has also been doing this for 40 years. Linda adjusted the band, and the cap fit perfectly and the wig looks 100% like my own hair! She also helped finesse my bangs. I was so impressed and am so happy with the way it looks. It basically changed my life, so I decided to try on a Mongolian hair wig, that, though not as expensive as European hair, has a silicone cap and an even silkier feel. This one ranges from 1500-2000 and I like my hair long, so opted for the latter. I now have two looks that give me the WOW factor I've struggled to achieve with extensions which are high maintenance, expensive, and never look quite like your own hair. I highly recommend Kim's Wig Botik. And I will be back for more! read more

They found the PERFECT fit for my mom, didn't try to oversell us on anything, didn't ask pushy personal questions, and even offered us guidance with insurance reimbursement.
