So I went here wanting to buy a $400 wig and they said they would hold it for me if I gave them $20. So then I decided I couldn't afford it so I went back to get my $20 and they refused to give me my $20 claiming that I had prevented them from selling it because it was in the back room for a week. When they went to look for it they couldn't even find it! So I said ok well since you have my $20 can I have one of these fabric hats...which are probably worth$10 tops...right they refused!!! Horrible business the lady then claimed she had never seen me before! I recently needed a wig to wear during chemo treatments. I called Kim and she just had me walk in. She was very attentive and explained the different types of hair, caps, and sizes. She also found a few options that matched my current hair style closely. Finally she explained all of the insurance documents I would need, and got my email so she could also send me the documents in soft copy. I was looking for a new wig as the one I purchased from a wig store in Littleton I was not happy with. So I found Kim's Wigs and was so very happy with the service I received. Kay was the woman who helped me find a wig that suited me, after showing me 3-5 of them, I finally decided on one. I was quite surprised that at this salon, they do not charge you extra for a cut and fitting of the wig as I was in the other store (she charged me $98). Here they trimmed it, made it tighter and styled it all for just the price of the wig. Fantastic service and Kay was so helpful and so very nice to talk to while she took care of me and my new wig. I have shopped at Kim's Wigs and I must say the store has the largest selections I've ever seen for a private business. The prices have a good starting range and the wide selection of styles and hair colors are amazing. My review is important because I am giving this business a 5 star review for the excellent service and knowledge that comes with the very nice products. I have personally witnessed caring hugs and tears that have been shared between the client and the owner (Kim) & employees when women & men can and do feel attractive again; whether they have health issues, aging or just want a change. The ladies seemed helpful at first, the purchase I made was on sale so they charged me extra to style it so I could wear it. They spoke to each other in another language the whole time so I could not understand them. I am not happy with the purchase but all sales are final. I purchased a wig from this shop and was treated well by the staff. Kim went to "the back" and brought out a wig that I liked and thought was attractive. I did not handle the wig, as she put it on for me. I wore the wig the next day and could not wait to get back home to take it off as it smelled like moth balls and old storage. I brought it back to the store and complained to her. She took the wig, sniffed it and claimed she could not smell anything, however, she said she would wash it, as "you never know what chemicals the manufacturers use in the wigs." Well, when I got it back, of course it had the aroma of shampoo and hair spray but there was still that old odor underneath. It wasn't long (about 24 hours) before moth balls became the dominant odor again. I have purchased wigs for 15 years throughout battles with cancer. This is the 1st such experience I have had with a wig retailer. The kicker for me was that she pretended nothing was wrong. "When a person shows you who he/she is, the 1st time, believe them." Please do not go to this wig store. If you do, just don't make it your only stop. Looking around and get lots of opinions. I visited Kim's Botik 2 weeks ago due to a sever alopecia. While my major spots are in my crown, I am still actively looking hair all over at a rapid pace. Kim put a "topper" on me and never even introduced me to a wig (I was clueless to the options or differences which is my fault, but I trusted her...she's been in business for 30 years. She reassured me the topper could be converted to a wig if I lost all my hair. In the past two weeks I have lost hair in the places in which the topper clips into my hair. I put a call into her store and spoke to an employee who informed me that toppers can not be converted. Also visited another wig store who also confirmed it could not be converted. The other wig store also said I should have never been sold a topper with my condition. She has offered to put tape on my topper to tape it my head or move the clips, but of course charge for it. This is ridiculous after being sold a $4K topper 2 weeks ago that wasn't the right for my condition. There are much better wig stores in Denver. Avoid this one at all cost. read more
