This was the WORST nail salon I have EVER been to! They have ZERO knowledge of nails, I went in for a simple gel fill, I asked if they were familiar with that, she relieved "Yes, of course"! Well 1 hour later and I was left with horribly destroyed nails. She was unable get the gel to adhere to my nail, she filled them down so much that there was virtually no nail left! NO. Just no. All other reviews are old. Checked it out & it was no good. Pedi took so long they couldn't did my nails. Pedicure was nothing special, but the bad part was the polish job. Gel, which was done so crappy. I didn't realize how bad it was until I was back home, but it's really bad. And gel is supposed to be all good, but told me not to touch so it could dry more? Kim's Nails is a cozy personal nail salon where Shan and Linda know everyone's name and take their time. Not a slapdash nail factory where there are 12 stations and zero personal touch. I've been to both and believe me, Kim's Nails is better. Total pros. My polish lasts longer because of the care they take applying it. Plus, if I am going to devote precious time, why not spend it with women who are pleasant and fun to talk to to? When I leave I have perfect nails and a smile on my face! read more

This is the worst service I ever received! I came in to have pink and white gel tips done and she had no idea what she was doing. After asking her to fix her work she told me no and refused to work on me. She made me leave with nail tips crazy glued half way down my nail!!!!! Told me to get them off myself.... never in my life have I ever been treated this way at a salon or witnessed such poor work done. I just moved to the area and was trying out this place. There's no way I will ever go back And I hope no one ever gives her business. She does not care about customers at all. Definitely doesn't know how to run a business. I ended up going to another salon, La Vallée to fix her work and they did an amazing job! Kim's price was 45 dollars and La Vallèe was 75. A bit pricey but so worth it! read more

EDIT 9/5/2016: They are no longer in that plaza. They are directly across the street in a little office building. There are signs with directions, but in case anyone was wondering, they are indeed still in business! I also wanted to add that they give a discount for Monmouth University students. Original review: This is my go-to spot in the area! This place is laid back and they get lots of regulars, so I took that as a sign that they're doing something right. It's clean and the two people that have done my manis / pedis were sweet and professional. I love that there's no yelling or people screaming into cell phones, but the place isn't stuffy like some others in the general area. Call ahead to make sure there's an opening, because sometimes you can get right in, but because there are regulars that schedule sometimes weeks in advance, you may end up out of luck if you're not a little flexible. read more

EXTREMELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!! 3 of my friends and i called ahead asking for gel manicures and made an appointment for 6:30. We walked 30 minutes to get there and once we arrived we were turned away because the one lady was the only one working. She told my friend with grown out acrylics that she did not need her nails done and for two of us to come back the next day. We are lucky we did not waste our money on an uber to get to this joke of a nail salon. Its sketchy location did not help, for we had to open multiple doors to find the entrance. Called in the middle of the week to make a same day appointment and luckily they were able to take me. I arrived early and good thing I did because the address listed on Yelp wasn't correct and you have to follow a series of hand written signs to get to the new location. I found the place pretty easily, however the owner was really surprised I found it. They typically just have someone go across the street close to your appointment time in case people get lost, which apparently is quite often. Other than this my experience was great, I got THEE most perfect mani/pedi ever because she really took her time and tried to avoid mistakes where as other places they just slap on the paint and fix it at the end. She also gave me a quick shoulder massage at the end which was a nice touch. There were only 2 people working when I was there, which is probably why they are appointment only, I'd imagine it allows them to take their time on your nails and not have to rush through to get to the next person. Excellent find for this out-of-town visitor, this is a small nail salon tucked into a tiny strip mall behind a 7-11. Referred there by a staff person at McLoones' restaurant--she did not steer me wrong! Clean and comfortable, with only 3 staff tending to the customers. A much more peaceful experience than the usual nail salon factory with a dozen chairs/sinks and the typical Saturday crowds. Took my teenage daughter and we enjoyed great mani-pedis--with complementary hand, foot and shoulder massages:-) Price for both of us was not too bad at $87, but I had the newer gel polishes applied, which costs a few more $$. I have gone to kims a bunch of times. The first couple times they were nice. Nails never came out good, but they are close to my house so whatever. Then they started getting ridiculously rude, so I stopped going for a while. It is a gorgeous day out today so I decided to stop in for a quick pedicure on my way to work. I am still sitting in the chair as I write this and she is telling me my pinkie toe is too short and so are my fingers and started laughing. I am very self conscious of these and politely asked her to stop because that is rude and that is the reason I stopped coming to begin with. She laughed and slapped my foot! Very hard, to the point where I have a.bruise automatically forming. I will never recommend this.place to anyone, unless you want to leave here beat up and feeling uneasy. read more
