First time here. Came for a soak-off and gel manicure. My nails weren't soaked in acetone long enough so the technician drilled most of it off using a very high speed on the drill. My nails are now the thinnest they've ever been. Technician couldn't control the drill because he had it on the fastest setting. He kept hitting my cuticles and it rolled around my fingertips several times. I kept having to pull my hand back each time my cuticles were hit and tell him it hurt. A staff member gathering tips from my technician's drawer exclaimed "Moneyyyyy! I love moneyyyyy! Do you love moneyyy?!" Goes to show the level of professionalism at this establishment. Due to this extremely poor service, I left after the soak-off and decided not to get a manicure. read more

Horrible service. Kim's was completely disappointing. They burned my feet with what felt like boiling hot wax and offered my four year old daughter stickers (she of course said yes to) that they didn't tell me they were charging for. They rubbed neosporan on my burned foot and charged me 145 dollars for our nice "relaxing" pedicures. I didn't even get the massage for mine and I was charged for the wax that burned me. read more

Absolutely disappointed such a cute place but they didn't listen to ANYTHING I said. I know thin nails will break easy compared to thick nails I DONT WANT THICK NAILS I don't care if they won't last as long I'm asking for thin it's whatever I want is it not? She started putting on the acrylic as if it were a race I wanted a different design On very nail but she didn't even bother to ask what I wanted she just started PACKING on the acrylic after I said I wanted thin nails???? I was annoyed so I decided to just say I wanted an initial on my ring finger she said ok then didn't even bother to do it at the end???? My nails are ALLLLL a different shape and my pinky is disgustingly thick it's even past my nail bed and onto my skin. When I told her I hated them she decided to get loud and said if I wanted to file them more? Um NO not anymore not with that attitude. Even after I asked for them not to file my toe nail anymore they continued to file it TWICE after that I just don't understand why it's so difficult to listen to what I'm asking for? I've tried every nail salon in Aransas Pass and Ingleside. This is the best place hands down. Best shape in town, great color selection, and Jimmy is the best nail tech. Also, they don't try to up-sale you the whole time you're there which I appreciate. The number one complaint I see in other reviews is the wait times. Sometimes they have a long wait, but that's because they are the best. If that's the case just leave and come back another time or schedule an appointment. Also, you could try to come at times that are not peak times. The other complaints I see are about nail shape and pricing. Ladies, if you don't like the shape as they are shaping it, speak up! I am very verbal about the shape of my nails as they are clipping and filing them. I ask them to file more on the left or the right side. I explain that I am very picky about the shape. I've done many different shapes here, and, if you are verbal about what you see and like or don't like, they are quick to fix it. Lastly, about the price, I find them to be very affordable. I came in today and had a full set removed, a broken nail repaired, a new set of acrylic nails added, and a shellac manicure with the powder coating and was charged $55 for all of it + the tip. So as far as pricing goes, I'd say they are competitively priced. I have had disagreements with them or complaints in the past, which ironically was about wait time, but if you address the issue with them they are quick to try to resolve it. I work full time in the beauty industry and have had hundreds of mani-pedi's, what a colossal disappointment this one was. I would give only one star, but the salon is clean, which is worth 2 stars in my book. That's about all the good I have to say. I just got a manicure and pedicure and it's as if I didn't get either. My heels are just as rough as before. When she painted my toes she just applied the color, no base coat at all, so I don't expect the color to last. read more

Wasn't impressed with this one. Just moved to town and needed a fill, this was the closest salon to me. Was very clean and pricing is reasonable, but the people working seemed very rude and a little pushy. I was literally asked 4 times (by the same 2 ladies) if I wanted a pedicure. The girl who came over to do my nails seemed like she was in a hurry, and I just did not agree with the techniques she used. For example, I asked for my nails to be shortened, and she used the trimmer tool they typically use when they first glue on the fake tips to do it, on my nails that had acrylic on them!! This did not feel right. While it got the job done, I much prefer when they use the electric tool and just file them down. I'm not saying I will never return to this location, but I will try out all the others in the area hoping to find a better spot before ever going back. read more

Called for an appointment and was able to get in right away. Only thought I would get a pedicure, but after seeing the safety in place (masks, gloves, frequent washing/sanitizing, large plexiglass partitions) I felt comfortable getting a manicure, too. I was in aransas pass wanting to kill some time I decided to get me and my daughters some pedicutes...I couldn't find a nail shop until I came across this one. They were very attentive and professional. The only down fall which I think goes across the board at nail shops ks they kept pushing for more services i politely declined. This place doesn't even deserve one star!!! I went there (usually I go to Q nails in portland VERY GREAT PLACE) but i decided to try something closer so I went to Kim's and when I got there I was sat down and a "nail tech" started on my nails, not even 5 minutes later she left me to go and do another customers feet. I sat there for about 30 minutes waiting and finally another nail tech came and asked me what I wanted so I showed her a few pics of what I wanted and she wasn't able to do them so I found a very simple one (hoping it was easy enough to be done) and she had left again to find someone else to do my nails...so once again I sat there waiting and eventually got seated somewhere else and the nail tech proceeded to do my nails, she cut them to my length but kept messing up so she ended up having to make them much shorter than I wanted. I had noticed but I kept quiet because it wasn't that big of a deal. After that, she asked what shape and I told her coffin so after she shaped them I looked at them and they were so lopsided and uneven, the tops were slanted, they were terrible and the nail work was as well. I finally was done and went to pay so I went to front desk and she told me it was $70????? Then tried to explain why and when I complained she only took $5 off. ALSO, they seemed in a rush when more people came in:/ I'm not trying to be dramatic or anything but I am so embarrassed having these on I CRIED. I've never felt so ugly in my life. So yea long story short Q nails is the way to go, they may be more expensive but you get what you pay for! read more

I had a good experience there, but this was literally the last place that I went and removed my sandals before having to shelter in place. I went in with normal toenails and now, about a month and a half later, I have developed a toe fungus on my left big toe. It's so gross and now I have to treat my toenail for 4 weeks or more and potentially lose the toenail according to my doctor. I am disgusted and upset. I have never had this happen before. I do not live with anyone that has toe fungus and I did not go anywhere else without shoes/socks recently other than here. You all need to clean your materials! read more

Dropped my girlfriend off to get her nails done today she texted me a few times that the lady was taking forever so a hour past and I picked her up..she got in the car and started crying because they were so bad even I could tell they were lopsided and I know nothing about nails and the audacity to charge 70 bucks!!! Although I once promised myself I would never return to Kim's (after an eyebrow wax left bad burns above both eyes years ago), I decided to give them another chance, this time with a basic manicure. They couldn't even get this right. After I declined additional services several times, they reluctantly accepted my request for a basic manicure with buffing, no polish. A disinterested technician then began working on my nails, paying no attention to what she was doing. Even pushing cuticles back was a problem, as she merely touched each nail (without looking) with her tool before hurriedly moving to the next nail. After that sloppy, half-done job, she brought out a very coarse file and haphazardly proceeded to slash a small gash below one nail. Now bleeding, unhappy with this lousy service, all I could think of was walking out. Foolishly, I stayed, hoping somehow she would pull this off. Instead, she then began filing unevenly with a dirty file -- there was a blotch of something brown (someone else's blood?) on the file. At least she used the other side while attempting to file my nails. By then, another technician had become aware that something wasn't right and came over to even up the nails. She cleaned up this mess a little, but then technician #1 returned to continue her botching. When paying for her "service," I showed her the skin now hanging off the small, but stinging, swelling gash, and again showed her a problem with a couple of cuticles. She merely waved me off. I will Never return. ... And now I need to tend my stinging wound and finish this "manicure." read more

Went here with my 2 daughters to get a pedicure and my lady was so rough that I kept jerking my foot from her. I couldn't tell if she was inexperienced or in a hurry, but either way, was not what I wanted. About the time that I was going to tell her to slow down and not be so rough, SHE CUT MY FOOT!!! when I jerked my foot away and told her that she cut my foot, she proceeded to "apologize" while laughing at me!!! I then told her again that she cut my foot and laughing was not appropriate, she still proceeded to laugh....totally inappropriate!!! She then hurried up and finished the other processes and then painted my nails. When I felt my feet (the bottoms where she should have been using the grater on and not the sides), they felt like I had not received a pedicure. When I went to check out, the cashier charged me full price for my pedicure. So with my pedicure and my 2 daughters, I paid $200!!! The least they could have done was not charge me for mine. The lady is lucky that I didn't kick her in the mouth when she cut my foot and laughed about it! I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again and will tell everyone that I know about my awful experience! In Aransas, there aren't many good choices for nails. I have been to the nail salon downtown and this one. Both have different things I like or don't like. They have a clear listing of prices, but sometimes the service is slow! One complaint I have is that they are frequently understaffed. You should definitely make an appointment! The girls are nice and do a good job. They are a newer place so their chairs and other furniture are new which is nice. They have a pretty good size selection for nail polish, and the new gel nail polishes! read more
