We've use this business twice and both times have had bad (and awful) experiences:…read more Several years ago, when we first moved here, my husband took his ASU pants to be hemmed before WOCS. She gave us a date and time that they'd be ready, so that's when we returned to get them. She'd forgotten about them. She told us to come back in an hour and they'd be done, so we went and ran some errands and returned a few hours later. ...she forgot about them again. He needed them the next day, so we had to sit and wait while she did them right then and there. Here's the awful: Two weeks ago, I dropped off my ball gown and graduation dress immediately after getting the dates for both events. We visited and called several other tailors in the area, and they were all completely booked, so I pretty much didn't have a choice but to go to Lynn's. The alterations were simple - I just needed her to make the shoulder straps a little tighter because they kept falling. I told her about a thousand times that I needed them NO LATER than July 22nd. Lynn said that it'd be no problem and she could have them done by Friday July 18th. I never heard from her that Friday or that weekend. I figured she was a little behind, so my husband checked with her on Tuesday July 22nd. They weren't done (although she later told me they were). She said that they'd be done late the next morning. Cutting it close, but whatever. My husband went back to check early that afternoon. He got there to find that the door was locked and no one was there. He called the number on the receipt and learned that there was some kind of emergency and they wouldn't be back until 6 or 7 that evening. We had to be at the ball by 5:45. Naturally, I was pissed. I called back to see if there was anyone in the area with keys that could get the dresses for me...no dice. I told the person that I spoke with that I didn't want her touching the dresses, and that I'd be in the next morning (today) after my husband's graduation to get the dresses. I had another ball gown that I was barely able to squeeze into. I had to wear a lot under it to get into it - we're talking binding, the tightest corset possible, and I even had to be sewn into the dress to keep the zipper from popping. I was extremely uncomfortable, and I'm still hurting from that. I went in this morning. She was obviously not happy to see me. She pulled my brand new, only worn twice, dresses from under a pile of clothes (that were also wadded up on the counter) and other random crap. They were in unacceptable shape - wrinkled, and obviously not cared for in the least. She told me what the cost would be, and I gave her every reason I wouldn't be paying which included the dresses being SIX DAYS LATE, the shape they were in, and now they'd be sitting in my closet for months or years. Basically I wasted money on these dresses to hang in my closet. With every complaint, she responded with "Well, I had an emergency yesterday". Sorry for your emergency, but so? What does an emergency five days after you were supposed to have them done have to do with anything? I told her that I wasn't paying, and to give me some seam rippers to take out what she'd done. I guess that made her mad, because she wadded my dresses up even more and chest passed them to me and said "Fine. You can have them", turned around, and walked off. She never once apologized for the inconvenience, her lack of professionalism, and the condition of my dresses. Not once. Do not go to Lynn's. Save yourself the headache and frustration, and go to someone reliable and professional.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!…read more SewTec is a custom prototype shop / pattern making for items such as tents / backbacks etc. I first contacted The owner Patty9/18/2018 to make a prototype of a pick-up camper tent. We agreed on the price of $2500 for a "Manufacturers Tech Pack" which includes the following: Material List - All pertinent information in one place. Useful for yourself, going for wholesale sourcing, as well as a manufacturer producing your product. Specifications for your product - Sizing charts, and drawings. As well as grading information, if applicable Sewing Specifications - Industry standard sewing codes ( ISO) for manufacturing. This ensures that either here or overseas, the terminology for the sewing process, and how any product should be sewn and finished, is easily understood. Sewing Schedule - Sewing guidelines / instructions, clearly explained, so even the most complex product with intricate details can be re-produced. Technical Drawings - Computer drawings clearly illustrating all necessary details for manufacturing. Sample Photos - Although we do recommend to send a manufacturer the actual sample of the product, we like to include photos in the tech-pack, when available, so all eventualities are covered. The agreement was $1000 upfront, the remainder once I got an acceptable 1st patten. Once the pattern fit correctly the balance was to be paid. I also was given a list of materials to buy and have shipped directly to her. The initial pattern didn't fit correctly, which we both expected since I live in California and SewTec is in Florida. Foolishly I returned the pattern with additional measurements and a check for the balance.on 2/1/19. I was told that they had to finish other customers projects in work before resuming on mine.It is now 2/22/19 and they have not answered my phone calls or emails. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! They are rude, they insisted that my dimensions were incorrect and the reason for the delay. When in-fact Tom, patty's husband and business partner I suspect, calculated the length and width INCORRECTLY. They will take your money and disappear. This is my experience and my opinion I have filed a complaint with the NorthWest Florida BBB, Contacted the Washington County Court Small Claims and the Chipley Chamber of Commerce.
