An update on my last review... I was refunded for all except about $300 for lab fees.

I came in to see Dr. Soparkar because I had an eye surgery (from another by doctor) that went very wrong. I was nervous because of how my previous two surgeries went, but I immediately felt comfortable and confident in Dr. Soparkars skills. He is very warm and comforting while still being very professional. Fast forward to my surgery... I had a two-part surgery because of the complexity of my case. Dr. Soparkar did a procedure that no one else does here in Houston or most other places! He truly is very smart and thinks outside the box when it comes to the the art of surgery. He recognizes that every person/situation is different and he is flexible with that. In both cases the surgeries went wonderful! The aftercare was great too! Dr. Soparkar, along with his staff, were always ready to answer my many questions. I have never had such great care from a doctor and staff as a whole as I have from them. He was able to fix my eye, which I am forever grateful! My eye functionality has been restored, as well as my confidence. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU!!

I was not able to obtain my medical records even after completing their forms. It's been four months..He was not able to fix my lazy eye. I had been experiencing drastic changes on my right eye in the past few DAYS. I work at a primary…read morecare clinic & have always seen patient being referred out to Dr. Cantu. So I thought my best choice was to go to her practice. I was able to get an app the same day. The front staff were very welcoming and the staff in the back were very professional. Once I had finished with all the exams I was waiting to be seen by Dr. Cantu...I had my door somewhat open and I heard a woman arguing on the phone with someone about a patient and when she hung up she proceeded to vent to the medical assistant. The medical assistant kept trying to let her know about her patient in one of the rooms but she kept on bringing up the person on the phone to the MA. Once she walked in the room the first thing she said was "what are we gonna do with you, hello I'm Dr. Cantu without even acknowledging me (she was the woman on the phone). Basically she did a routine vision test for new glasses, disregarding any of my right eye concerns and when I asked a question I felt as if I was being annoying... she proceeded to say that the glasses I was wearing were nearsighted and that I am now farsighted... she wanted me to check my A1c and glucose and that maybe that could be the cause of my blurry vision... she told me to come back after bloodwork and then she would determine if to give me a new eye script! I was left confused and with more questions... I had a second opinion with a new ophthalmologist and the experience was waaaaaaayyyy different. One thing that stood out to me is that Dr. Cantu said it could be my glucose but the other Dr said if it was due to your sugar levels it would effect both eyes not just one. I understand if your getting government help shes a easy go to but if your paying out of pocket I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go somewhere else.

I was seen by a man who did not introduce his name or position ( ophthalmologist or technician?). The exam was abbreviated. Then he told me that Dr. Cantu (?) would come and do the assessment. Another man came in with no introduction of what he intended to do. He did the air blowing to measure the ocular pressure) and did the dilation test. He told me my vision did not change and let me drive home without precaution about my blurred vision. Later I received a bill for 290 dollars. After the "adjustments" and insurance payment, I had to pay 67.33 out of pocket. I expected to pay nothing for a routine eye checkup. I felt cheated because I received the care I didn't need; routine eye exam costs only $50 So the office was trying to make money out of my intent, and the service was of poor quality. I would not come back for this kind of business.

I exhibited plenty of patience today, even when the doctor chose to be frustrated and remove himself from the room simply from me pointing out the unusual nature of the wait time. I am pretty sure he is a great doctor, but that does not make it acceptable to not want to have better scheduling practices at the office. It is unfair to patients when they are turned around if running late or charged if they are a no show, when they would have a long wait to get through the full administrative process and see the actual doctor anyway. I do intend to look further into scheduling guidelines for offices and raise additional complaints if it will help even one other patient have a better experience with their visitation process. My score is low because of these aspects of the practice. Prior to my pointing out my disappointment with the wait, the doctor had been nice. However, he ended the appointment abruptly and walked out when he didn't want to hear me express what I was witnessing and hearing from others waiting. As for staff, they were really good at their jobs despite needing to respond to patient wait complaints continually. Every staff member treated me with care and was respectful. Nonetheless, I will not return and truth is the doctor could care less because more than enough people will still return and only complain but not take any action. I think service is important so their scheduling doesn't work for me. They have appointments scheduled for every 5 minutes, literally.

After interviewing three surgeons, I decided on Dr. LoMonaco. Before I even told him my vision, he described the way he sees my body and it was the same as I see it. We discussed realistic expectations, and were in agreement. Though my weight is far from being ideal, it is my stable weight and has been for quite some time. I was ready to be smoothed out and have the excess skin & some fat removed and my breasts reconfigured. I am pleased with the bodywork, and my breasts will probably need a revision in six months: this was expected, considering what we started with. I have always been able to contact Destiny and Chela (including having their cell phone numbers), and Dr. LoMonaco answers his own emails. I feel my care has been very good. In my early results I can see that my expectations have been met, and in some ways surpassed, with regard to my body.

When I had my tummy tuck I lost a lot of blood and development a hematoma. When I went for my follow up visit after being at the hospital for two days he drained the excess of fluid and it goes worse and developed a high risk infection. After multiply visits to Dr. LaMonaco's office my wound wouldn't heal, he found GAUZE inside my incision! It's a shame that's such a high end hospital such Methodist Clear Lake would work with a such a doctor. He is not caring or professional and only cares about the money. Now I need to find another surgeon to correct my butchered procedure. I have a video where he admit everything , he paid people to take off all the bad reviews !! And went I was in his office after he see patients he talk about it !! He is mental disable, he think all the patients wants to have sex with him.
