They fix your car when they say they will fix it, at a good price, and with a smile. Don't expect a warm, inviting atmosphere when you show up, tho. These guys are mechanics who will fix your car expertly. But it's a small shop, and all of the cars are sort of wedged together. What was designed as a showroom is now their warehouse, and the waiting room is great if you're a fan of 1970's avocado-and-gold color schemes. Honestly if you plan on waiting, there's at least two really good coffeeshops within walking distance. Both are really good places to hang out for a hour or so. Also: I don't know if they would consider themselves LGBTQ+ allies, but the first time I went there with my car after I transitioned, terrified of what might happen, they said "Hi [former name]!" I said, "actually, my name is Penny," and they said "Hi, Penny!" Seriously, nothing else changed, and they have never once deadnamed or misgendered me. If you're looking for a shop that has concierge-level amenities, move along. But if you want expert repair from a couple of guys who love what they do, this is the place.

Talking with the guy on the phone, he was immediately concerned about my situation and car and had me drop by so he could take a look. He did not have to, but he gave his time to take a OBD2 reading of my car and a visual inspection of it. He let me know the info I was given was false. Although, he did not have time to do a repair, he also advised that I should watch out for scamming mechanics and if I ever need a second opinion, to call him. He was super concerned and did not want to see me get taken advantage of by other mechanics and their shops. We got off at Manchester and googled auto repair and my wife found Crandall Automotive. The owner Mike answered the phone and we explained the situation. He was able to get us in his shop within about 15 minutes. He put the car up in the lift and quickly diagnosed it as a heat shield that had fallen into the driveshaft. He fixed it in about 20 minutes and didn't want to charge us very much for the repair. We were so grateful at how quickly he was able to address the situation and get us back on the road towards home. We are really grateful for his kindness and expertise and would recommend Crandall automotive to anyone needing auto repair.
