Two of us went together. I had a Groupon for a cut and full highlights, I brought my child for a trim and ombré (full price). My highlights came out orange, so she fixed it for an additional $50. This entailed coloring my entire head one color and has left my scalp burning 2 days later despite multiple washes. I just wanted some highlights for summer, not to go 100% blonde. My child got a dry cut (1 inch off the bottom) for the bargain price of $60 (this is sarcasm) and her ombré which cost an additional $60 washed out completely in less than 48 hours. I asked multiple times how long it would last with plenty of assurances from Kim that it would last quite a while. Basically I paid $120 for a 1 inch trim. Extremely frustrated and disappointed as I believed this was a color expert. read more

Purchased a groupon for a cut and full highlights. I arrived with my outrageous mess of fluffed out frizzy bleached to the max hair. She didn't look at it twice.....put some nice highlights in it, gave me a stylish textured cut I love, and all this took less than two hours - a lot less. So I like Kim - she's personable, keeps the conversation moving, doesn't doddle and I got what I came in for, which was great color and a good cut. There is no downside. No day after uh oh. Unprofessional and dishonest. the keratin treatment is a complete rip off. It did nothing for my hair. I'm not sure if she is using cheap product or it the fact that she rushes everything because she double books herself and is always doing more than one client at once. (She also showed up late for my appointments). When I told her that I did not see any difference in my hair she said it takes a few treatments ( well each additional treatment is 300$?!?!) In terms of color... she will tell you she could do anything and then if you are unhappy with the results that it is simply the best she could do. This woman runs her place on groupons. The worst hairstylist I have ever had. My hair color only lasted 2 weeks and she refused to redo it. It was a waste of the $65 I paid for Groupon. She was very rude when I asked if I could have my hair redone. I would never recommend her. read more

I was recently looking for new hairdresser as mine had moved out of town. I came across Kim 4 Color on Groupon offering a cut and highlight for $65.00. I thought great try someone new and get a good deal. When I first called her I told her I was looking for a new hairdresser and so was my sister because ours had moved. I mentioned I am getting married and was interested in having someone do the updo's for my wedding party and mother. When it came to scheduling an appointment she told me I had to go to her website and schedule it through a link. Once I got there I booked an appointment for a cut and one for color. I texted her a confimaion. She told me to cancel one of them. I found it confusing because there were many overlaps and openings where I had booked with her and tried to call her.She would not respond and started to text me. I also wanted to see if I could use the earlier time I booked but she said she was too busy to look at her schedule and I would have to deal with it myselft. She was too busy to answer my call or simply answer my question but she texted me 32 times!!! I asked her to please call me when she was not busy as I was at work and could not utilize the online scheduling and continue to recieve her texts at work. She said no! She was too busy to call or go online and check her schedule.... and contintued to text. If I could cut and paste the whole conversation you would laugh. At one point she didn't know who I was! I finally told her that I found texting and online scheduling very impersonal. She kept texting... then finally said her client was getting annoyed with all her texting. Well yeeeeah.... she was doing it for hours. A very unprofessional person and very rude. I got my groupon refunded. I am thinking that she wasn't even worth the value of the groupon. She also mentioned that she works on multilple people at once so don't expect personal service. I am thinking this is an example of the customer service you would get there. I have been going to Kim for over 3 years now. I started going to her with a Groupon. She is one of the BEST hairstylists that I have gone to. She is very experienced and can do anything that you request. My 19yr old "on trend" daughter just had her do a blonde Ambre and she loved it. My daughter was so concerned on having it really - blonde - but the blonde from the bottom had to flow into her top color without a line - she wanted a natural look. Her big fear was the shunk look with big blonde streaks. Kim did a fantastic job and the blonde flowed. My daughter also has extremely long hair so not a fast job. Long hair is a LOT of foils and that takes time. Kim doesn't skimp. Kim listens to what you want. I show her a couple of pictures that I like from individual pictures (usually pinterest). I want the bangs from this shot, the lenght from another, the side bangs from another, etc. She brings it all together and gives me exactly what will suit ME. She keeps up on the newest cuts. The best thing about Kim is your cut will be EASY to manage. The key to a great stylists is having your hair fall into place DAILY with very little effort. A quick blow dry and it looks great. Her cuts do this. Kim also does a lot of marketing. She offers her own discounts to her regulars. You will have zero reason to be jumping from hair stylists to hair stylists looking for the best deal. She wants to maintain your loyalty. Fantastic business woman. Her prices are the going rate but with her emailed discounts you save a few dollars. Your not getting a cheap hair cut. Your getting a style that hangs properly by a very qualified experienced stylists. read more

I recently went to Kim for a Keratin Treatment and a haircut. I had a great experience. She was nice, and easy to talk to. I love my haircut. I have had the Keratin treatment done may time and this was a good one. The only thing I would say is that in the past I have usual had more product put on my hair HOWEVER, I was also paying significantly more in those instances. For $100.00 this Keratin Treatment was great!! Thanks Kim, I will definitely be back. read more

I first visited Kim because my husband gave me a groupon for a cut and color. I told Kim the color I wanted and I told her I wanted to add auburn highlights. She spoke to me as if this was totally impossible because to put highlights in would mean bleaching my hair. I told her that hasn't been my experience with other stylists but she insisted that I was misinformed and continued to color my hair and add blond highlights! She told me that I could schedule another appointment if I wanted auburn. I wasn't thrilled with my hair but after a couple weeks I was more used to it. My daughter goes to the stylists at Zinc and she has never been disappointed so I decided to try them when I needed another color (this time I was hoping to actually get what I asked for!). But I waited too long and they were completely booked on the day my daughter had her appointment. So, going against that little voice inside I went online and scheduled another cut, color, and highlight with Kim. I received confirmation of my appointment via email. At the time of our appointments my daughter was greeted and quickly attended to while I was left flipping through magazines and waiting. Finally, Kim came over and as I was getting up she asked asked me who I was (really?!?) and told me that I was not on her schedule! I assured her that I had made an appointment using her scheduling program online. Instead of apologizing or offering to schedule another appointment, Kim acted as though I must have done something wrong (I later found out that I was the third person that month who had made an appointment only to arrive and be told otherwise!) and that I was completely interfering with her day! She told me she didn't have any availability and walked away from me! I truly have never been treated with such disregard! The owner of Zinc saw how Kim was acting and came over to offer his assistance. He tried to juggle his stylists' appointments in order to fit me in. Now that's customer service! I would advise anyone looking for quality service and workmanship to bypass Kim for Color and instead schedule with any one of the stylists at Zinc. read more

Kim rents a space in Zinc. First off I arrived late for my appointment and Kim didn't have an attitude. She was gracious enough to take me despite arriving late. She has an amazing personality, very approachable and easy to talk to. Kim specializes in highlighting and coloring but I went to her for a keratin treatment. Her prices are amazing, you can simply call her up and she is willing to negotiate the price. I can't say enough good things about her but I didn't like my results at all. I've had keratin treatments in the past and had better results. My hair looked "perfect" after the application but once washed it was back to its frizzy self. I've had it done in the past so I know my hair takes the product. I don't know what went wrong, was it the product or was it the technique? My frizzy hair remains frizzy so I didn't really get what I went in for. Sure Kim is nice and sweet but I went to see her for a service and I didn't really get what I went in for. Off to try another salon because when I'm paying for a keratin treatment I prefer not to have to straighten the hair daily. read more

I was looking for someone "new" with "fresh ideas". Since Kim is a "specialist" in hair color and highlighting, I decided to try her with a groupon I had purchased. She arrived 40 minutes late for my appointment, I finally called her after 30 minutes, and she told me she was running late! There was no phone call to tell me that! Red flag #1. Red flag #2, she was disheveled and her hair was a mess! You expect your hair stylist to look "put together" and neat. She talked me into more then I went there for.....my fault, however, two extra treatments I hadn't budgeted for. I thought, she is the expert, or so she claims, so I will take her advice and do what she is suggesting.....dye the roots, low lights with the highlights. The color of the roots came out extremely brassy and the highlights were not anything what I had talked to her about! I asked for extra foils around my face and it looked the same as the rest of my head!! Being VERY unhappy and disappointed, I called to see what she could do for me to get my hair closer to what I had "talked to her about". Rather then make an appointment to come back in, she had me send pictures.....guess she didn't believe me. After seeing the pictures, she agreed that a toner AND more highlights were needed.........AT another $55 for the highlights AND $45 for the toner!! Of course I would have tipped her AGAIN, but did NOT feel obliged to pay again for a job I expected in the first place!!!! This was a VERY unpleasant experience and I am VERY upset about my hair.......something I have to live with for another 6 - 8 weeks!!!!! I am definitely NOT going back!!! read more

I had a terrible experience. Kim arrived late for my appointment. I was scheduled for a single process color and a cut. The color she gave me was not what we discussed-a rich dark auburn/brown. The color did not cover my grays or the highlight I had in my hair. I had a band of blondish color around my crown and the grays were barely covered. I called her within a week to discuss the color. I sent her pictures and she agreed that it looked like I had just had my hair highlighted. She agreed to redo the color. I arrived at the second appointment and she begins with "I was expecting to see a blond;" " you were much lighter in the pictures you sent me;" "in fact, you should be even lighter now that a week has passed;" "it's almost as if these pictures were taken before you came for your color." In the end, she said that she would'nt recolor my hair for free as she agreed. She questioned my integrity and wasted my time. The salon was full of people and it was an embarrassing experience. Kim is unprofessional and incompetent. I have since had my hair colored and the hairdresser was appalled by the cut as well; completely uneven! I will never go back to her or the salon. read more
