I was shocked to hear his greeting that his office is now closed for good. This guy had cared for my child since she was a newborn baby. Learning about this closure by hearing about it on a phone greeting was such a blow. I closely review our mail and we never got a letter notifying us that he was closing his practice. I'm not the only one. Two other parents at my daughter's school whose kids also saw him as their pediatrician, said they never got a letter. How extremely unprofessional. All these years and I foolishly thought they cared about my family. I was able to contact Dr Nguyen directly through the private text app he used (SPRUCE) only to get his direct but curt and cold reply. No graciousness, no courtesy, no appreciation for being a loyal patient over a decade. Just the same message he posted to Facebook - his office is permanently closed. I asked how to retrieve my daughter's medical records. He was no help. Dr Nguyen said he will move to Health Care Partners effective late January 2019. ***UPDATE: Staff at the busy Health Care Partners practice on Del Amo Blvd which Dr N moved to, was very quick and efficient helping me get my daughter's medical records so I could pass them on to her new pediatrician. I was nervous at first but he definitely made me feel comfortable and seen. As a FTM and choosing to breastfeed, but being an under suppler; he gave suggestions to help boost my supply. Because my baby was underweight, he suggested combo feeding adding formula while I boost my supply to make sure my baby is eating enough. Honestly I was very insecure about being an under suppler and I felt like I was an inadequate mother because I couldn't provide for my baby. But he reassured me and understood how I was feeling and made me feel seen. As someone going through postpartum, he made me feel better about something out of my control. On top of that, he was a wonderful pediatrician to my son. He gave me an ample amount of formula samples and even a diaper bag to help me. He made me feel comfortable about combo feeding while breastfeeding and choosing whether to continue whichever method of feeding for my child. As long as my baby is being fed is the most important thing. Unfortunately the new insurance I got for my son does not cover this office or Dr. Berman, I would've love to have kept him. But I really cannot recommend him enough.

I am not criticizing the new dr although I am concerned about the amount of patients lately that are booked for appointments as my daughter said when she was there for her child's appointment there was about 15-20 people at least in this very tiny sitting room. Sone patients has to wait in their cars or outside and with young children, babies. She was one of them. The office in all our years of going over 20 the office usually only had 5 people waiting at the most. I loved being able to communicate with the previous Dr. Nyguen by email anytime or make a call to her urgent question number she provided her patients. Now if I get a call from the nurse or dr to call back The front desk Brenda and not sure the name of the other front desk woman refuses to let me speak with either. I don't know why when I have explained that I'm simply returning their calls and they said to call back as they have further information or want to answer additional questions I may have. Which I did. Shot down immediately and also she won't help by providing lab location numbers just told my daughter to look one up for mold testing for my granddaughter.
