I don't think I've ever left a review for a nail spa, but I had to for this one. Kim's is my favorite in Santa Barbara as of today! I've been to many nail salons around town growing up here, but I had never been to Kim's for some reason despite living pretty close by. I called for an appointment and they were immediately so nice and welcoming. I came in 10 minutes later and they took us right away. This was my daughter's first manicure. The lady who did her nails was so nice and patient. My daughter smiled and chatted with her the whole time they even gave her a hair bow at the end. It's always really appreciated when a business is so good with kids! Kelly did my nails. She was hilarious and so kind and warm, even giving me a peptalk on positive affirmations. The expectation when you walk in does not match the end result. I went in for a fill because I was in an area and I completely regretted it. The fill was not properly done, and there are some parts missing powder. The gel applied looks like a beginner application. Tracy was very friendly but the end result is definitely not what I expected especially when paying over 55 dollars for a fill. read more

I had such a wonderful first experience here today! I've been looking for a new go-to spot, and I finally found it. My appointment was timely, the salon is immaculately clean, and the staff is so friendly and professional. I had Kelly for a pedicure and she is so incredibly friendly, funny and took her time to make sure everything was perfect, especially when preparing my cuticles and shaping them evenly on both sides of my feet (you'd be surprised at the lack of attention to detail at other places!) . I was on vacation and went with friends for a pedicure. I got the male nail tech. Do not let him do your pedicure. He was more interested in his phone than doing my treatment. He rushed through the whole thing . He only half way did my heels. He left dirt in my cuticles and didn't trim them at all. He massaged my calves for less than 2 minutes. I was done 20 minutes before my friends who were clearly enjoying their leg massages. I paid extra for the callous treatment and got less than my friend who didn't pay for that. Fortunately after I complained, the manager was kind enough to clean and trim my cuticles. Oh and when I was telling her I was unhappy the guy ran to the back room and was never seen again. read more

Horrible service. Not state board compliant by any means. I walked in to have my nails done here, immediately I realized I made the wrong choice. I then asked if they could just remove my gel bc I already knew I was going to be unhappy with the place. she said "I already filled up the water for your pedicure " (not my problem) to remove my gel she submerged my entire hand in a BAG of acetone. Anyway, she did a shitty job removing them... charged me $60. She told me it was a $10 fee to remove them so she charged me 3 times what she said after I said I didn't want my nails done by them. In the spur of the moment my dad wanted to get pedicures so I called a few spas around town and couldn't get an appointment, but Kim's had space for us! It was a light clean place and the ladies here are wonderfully kind and good at what they do. We both got deluxe pedicures with callus removal, hot towels, scrub, mask and paint. I was happy to see so many staff members because there were already four other customers when i arrived (and this place had just opened). This place was very popular with regulars coming for appointments and a few phones calls making appointments. Kim did my pedicure and she was very pleasant. I appreciated that Kim let me read my book but did have small conversation with me every so often. Very sweet lady! My pedicure was good; I've had better but i can't complain. There was some polish left on the tips of three toes and my nails could've been shaped better. Overall, a solid experience. read more

I made an appointment for a full set and a gel pedicure. I am almost positive they never did a full set before because the results were terrible. The gel pedicure was not much better. I feel bad writing this review but, the attitude that these ladies had was ridiculous. I have noticed that the colors on the dip chart is different when put on. I wanted a light pink and it turned out peach. One time I wanted no sparkles and the lady told me when we finish it will not be glittery. It was literally pink and silver. When she dipped it in it was soooo glittery and she kept denying me from changing it. When I said "no, I don't want this" she shaved it off and I felt heat. So back to this story why I'm writing this. I went in Sept 1 at 3pm the color was different from what I wanted but I wanted to avoid what happened last time. Then holly said she wanted to try an experiment on my left side (only using dip activator no base coat) then do the usual on my right. The left is all lumpy and the right is chipped and breaking off. I called Sept 2 at 3pm so exactly 24hrs later. They kept telling me I can come in 15 min to get them fixed; I was across town which would take more 15min which I explain and they kept saying that it can't be done that is the only time. I showed up at 4pm there was no one only the workers. I said, I don't want them redone just a refund because it was only 24hrs they are already chipping and breaking. They kept talking and laughing and saying refunds isn't a thing at that salon. Saying that happens to nails. I been having my nails done consistently since I was 11. I know that regular nail polish would chip within 24hrs or doin hard labor would do that but I haven't done anything. If it wasn't for their attitude I wouldn't be writing this. read more
