This take out restaurant has been in Aix-en-Provence for many years…read more There is no inside dining, just take out. They have several choices Every day. I had the chicken with noodles and vegetables. If you want it Heated, they'll heat it, or you can take it cold. I also tried their coconut Boules dessert. The initial try of this dessert was very good, but later In the week, it was slightly dry and not as appetizing. Usually there's a Line out the door. They take cash only.

This is, with out a doubt, one of the top 5 eating establishments in Aix. Yes, that's right, one of…read morethe top eateries in Aix is Vietnamese. It is a very small restaurant. I do believe they have one table, so the food is almost always "to-go"'. It's perfect during Spring, where you can sit on a fountain, or in the park, and enjoy the wonderful weather and Nguyen Thanh's culinary perfection. The food here is perfect, and the owners ensure this quality with painstaking detail. The food is very fresh, light, and flavor-blasted. As with the other reviewer, I also suggest the "Magic Bo Bun". When your food is served, they take great care to make sure an even and perfect proportion of meat, vegetables, noodles, and sauce is given to each customer, and they ladle your food onto your plate with such care and love. This is perfect and must not change - it is what makes this place so special; however, I must warn you, eating here is a test of patience.* And I'm not talking about American fast-food patience - I know many French who have given up on the wait, but it is worth it. If there are 10 people waiting in line for food, you will be waiting for 20-30 minutes, so bring a book or a friend, because a little extra time shouldn't keep you from some of the best Vietnamese food in the world. *Note: The last time I ate here was in 2008, so I'm not too sure if the long wait still exists.

Worst dining experience of my LIFE. I came here because of the good reviews, but my boyfriend…read morealready warned me of the old man's temper... I thought he was joking until I witnessed his eyes rolling, tossing plates on the table and being very stingy with ingredients, I was too scared to even ask him for anything else! He would roll his eyes at us and huff and puff at us. My order was wrong I was worries to asked to fix it and was scared he would spit in my food, I would have left a tip but after that disrespect, forget about it! I am truly shocked. Don't work in the service industry if you are so angry!

Very disappointing. Ok service, zero ambiance, very very mediocre food. Better Vietnamese in Ohio.read more

After weeks of Spanish and French food, my cravings for Asian food could no longer be ignored…read more I noticed they have Vietnamese fondue which is basically "bo 7 mon" (aka 7 courses of beef) minus the other 6 dishes. It's pretty straight forward - you get a warm bowl of water to dip the dry rice paper in. Then you place your rice paper on your plate (key is to keep the dish dry) and load up on vegetables. you get a vinegar broth to cook the meat in and once meat is cooked, you place it on top of your vegetables / rice paper. Start rolling your own rolls and dip in the fish sauce. The rice paper is too small to try to fold it all on 4 sides. At home, I eat this quite a bit (of course, a bit different) so I was happy to see this so close to our place. Ordering was very straight forward. Service is attentive. Bonus: the owner speaks Vietnamese, some waitresses speak Chinese, most speak English, and all of them speak French. You can't go wrong. The Vietnamese fondue hit the spot for us and brought me back home in the middle of Aix. Even though the menu swings from Thai to Chinese to Korean (which is pretty weird but not really surprising), the Vietnamese fondue is fairly authentic. No mam nem sauce but the nuoc mam was fine. Ask for the rooster sauce for spice. It's about 19 euro per person to order this. All vegetables can be refilled for free. You can definitely have a nice meal here without hurting your wallet. We ended up ordering a bottle of rose and 2 extra plates of beef (30 euro) so our bill was about 90 euro total. Pretty pricy for something I eat so regularly at home but worth it for us.

The restaurant is located in a neighborhood only lively during night time. Bars on the street, attracting hundreds of students to this area, seeking for drinks, smoke, socializing, and the most obvious food/snack. Once we get inside we were politely greeted and unlike most restaurants, the owners do speak fluent English. The lady owner used to have Teppanyaki restaurants in Miami but decided to go back to France after 15 years (she was born/raised in France). We ordered the combos, starting from chicken soup, Vietnamese salad w/ chicken/crab, and the main courses: caramelized pork and chicken on top of fried egg noodles. The starters were great especially the soup and they are quite filling! The main courses were well seasoned and satisfied our craving for Asian food. The ambiance is different (classy Asian) and service decent. Between the two of us we spent €39 and completely full... definitely would recommend this place
