When we first moved to Texas they were not only convenient, but they quickly proved themselves to be both incredibly professional and reliable. I know that many feel uncomfortable and even dread their bi-yearly dentist visits, but I have never experienced this with Modrall Dentistry. In fact, this practice is located in Mansfield, and I live in Houston (and have for over 10 years). Twice a year I make my way back to Mansfield to use their dental services, because frankly, I don't trust anyone else. Beyond the skills and professional nature you'll find at Modrall Dentistry, the staff is some of the most kind and welcoming I have ever experienced. When I visit their office, it feels like seeing old friends, which is an amazing touch. The location is convenient. There is plenty of parking. The waiting room is nice and welcoming. The interior well lit and immaculate. There is plenty of state of the art dental equipment, but nothing that looks frightening or outdated. For what could be an unpleasant experience (visiting the dentist office) they make it comfortable and pleasant. A few examples of how they've gone above and beyond for me: - Several months ago I needed some dental work, and I had to travel to Mansfield to get it done, but the morning of the assistant had a family emergency, and knowing that I cam all the way Dr. Modrall asked if I wanted her to perform the procedure solo (not typical). She walked me through what that would look like, reassured me, but left the decision completely in my hand. I had her do the procedure, and she was an absolute pro. - Recently, I mixed up my dates, and I missed an appointment. They had a game plan to try to squeeze me in, and this was during the holidays. They had me in and out in no time - As I mentioned, I have been going here for decades, and they have identified areas of concern (potential risks, caveties, dark spots, etc), but I have never technically had a cavity/filling. They have been telling me about any progression or updates on those areas, but they've never said "you need to get it filled." They aren't here just to take your money or to do unnecessary work. They know exactly what they're doing and they provide insight. This is one of the main reasons I trust them I can't rave enough about their professionalism and bedside manner. I will continue to go to this dentist office as long as I can, and I would recomment you do as well. Dr. Modrall is amazing, and Shawna R. is an incredible Dental Hygienist (if you can request). I have had a tooth transplant and a crown with 0 complications. Nothing worse than a toothache on a Saturday with the thought of no near term relief. He has always been available whenever I needed him for consult or medicine in the off hours when these situations occurred. I have also been a patient for many years of Kathey Roberts who is the main dental hygienist on staff. I feel Kathey is the best in the business. She has consistently diagnosed issues prior to the doctor's check at the end of many cleanings. Kathey uses the latest technology and has educated me on proper dental health. emphasizing its importance to help minimize other health complications that I have. It is easy to pick up that this is a true family based, Christian centered practice. It is worth your time to visit!

Expressed discomfort and asked for the Dr repeatedly to look at the final seating. When requested for check was told the X-ray would be reviewed or I could wait until the provider was done with another patient by the assistant and then the front desk. I expected my dental work to be completed by the Dr. Understand he is busy so my request may have been lower on his agenda as far as concerns for the day. I still have pain so I am not sure my crown was applied properly and the Dentist did not over see the final application or confirm the final placement and seal.

I chose this office because it's closer than my usual dentist and had great reviews. But after my experience, I seriously question how those reviews are being generated. The office is noticeably dingy, dust on surfaces, worn furniture, stained x-ray aprons, etc. The standing X-ray machine wasn't working, and after a few attempts and a computer restart, they just skipped it entirely. While I was waiting in the room I started noticing more off putting details, some bugs on the floor, dirt around a drooping plant, and what looked like damage in the wall with some sort of debris and a few bugs on it. At this point I was already questioning if I wanted to stay but it was the interaction with the dentist, Dr. Miller, that ultimately made me leave. He came in, and spoke to me from behind while looking at a computer screen. I had mentioned on the form that I sometimes had an issue with dry mouth and he asked if I wanted a "paste." When I asked what it was, he gave vague, non-answers like "something to help dry mouth." I had to ask multiple times before he vaguely mentioned fluoride and "other things." At that point, I stopped the appointment and said I wasn't comfortable continuing. Two things really bothered me about this interaction: 1. Either he didn't clearly know what he was recommending, which is concerning. 2. Or he chose not to explain it properly, which is equally concerning. Patients have a right to understand what is being recommended or prescribed to them. After I said I was leaving, the dentist immediately exited without another word. No explanation, no attempt to address concerns, nothing. The staff member did apologize, which I appreciated, but I will not be returning.

I brought my 2-year-old son for his appointment, too, and she was also patient with him, ensuring he felt comfortable before beginning the actual assessment. The office is clean and staff were pleasant. My only reservation is that the dental assistant (hygienist?) did not floss between my permanent retainers. Aside from that, it was a great experience. We have finally found a dentist we will KEEP. :D
