What I asked for is what I got!
Kat D.

I booked with Kim because of the great reviews and great pictures on Yelp. She did not disappoint! I was worried my hair wasn't the right "type" for Balayage, or that she would say it couldn't be done. Well, it was done and it was done very well! I asked for a cream or vanilla blonde with subtle shadow roots. I showed her 3 pictures from Pinterest and she truly nailed it. I was anxious my roots would be too much...and that I'd look brunette with my hair pulled back. She really executed that " I've got bleached hair because I live my life on the beach" look I wanted. Hopefully it grows out to be more manageable than the foiled blonde I had before by using the shadow root effect as a buffer. As for the price, Balayage is expensive, you have to know that going into it. It's a multi stage process, and sometimes takes multiple appointments. Luckily we pulled my transformation off in one! With the color and double process and trim it was $200 before tip. Yes, it's a chunk of change but worth it when your hair is your life!! I feel sexy and ready to ring in my upcoming birthday because of such a job well done.

Sarah is a hair wizard!…read more I had a relatively harsh line from a previous ombre done at another salon and wanted to get it fixed before deploying. I researched all the nearby salons and stylists before choosing Sarah, who turned out to be exactly what my hair needed. Making the appointment was a breeze. They asked a lot of questions which I liked as it helped them get a better sense of how my hair was currently and what exactly I was looking to get done. Sarah was awesome from start to finish. She explained everything she was doing, asked for my input and other questions as we went along, and was very transparent throughout the entire process. We started with a cut, then went into the blending and color. She dried a test swatch to ensure that I liked the final product and I felt comfortable enough to be completely honest. After a little update, I was left 100% satisfied. Usually I find little things wrong once I get home, but that hasn't been the case here. I got exactly what I envisioned and the color is something I've wanted for awhile but no other stylist has been able to really achieve. The salon itself is cute, clean, and spacious. They have their own parking lot which is super clutch given the downtown location. Prices are very reasonable and on par with the service you get. Overall, couldn't be happier with my experience. All the love for Sarah.

BLONDES! STAY AWAY. Unless you enjoy paying $400 to walk out with 3" black roots, grays still…read moreshowing, and brassy orange blonde. I saw Tasha every 6 weeks for 18 months. Every time I walked out out with a DIFFERENT tone. One time I left with a purple hue. A few times I saw a brown stripe around my head that looked so bad in pics. How?! She refused to paint the foils CLOSER to my head. In tears I came back & told Tosha my roots were too dark. I left the salon LOOKING like you're overdue for a root touch. She kept pushing me to go brunette because it was more convenient for her. I've gotten highlights since 1999. She told me my natural color was too dark, to go blonde & that's why I turn brassy. She said she asked ALL the other stylists if they could help me, but they all REFUSED. "This salon just does a more natural rooted look and what I'm asking for is outdated & from the 90s." Not only did she insult me, but she fired me as a client and canceled my follow- up appointment. She told me she was actually undercharging me and not charging me ENOUGH. Tasha is very nice which is why I kept giving her another chance.. So now I am back to driving two hours to Destin to see my old stylist. If you can't do blonde well, then SAY SO when a new client sits in your chair.

I recently moved from Atlanta to the Pensacola area and did a lot of research before going to…read moreMoonflower Salon. I was walking by one Saturday and popped in to inquire about the salon and if any stylist was experienced in shades of red (if you know you know). My hair is naturally dark brown and now about 50% gray; I've been coloring it red for years! The nice woman at the desk recommended Susan and I booked an appointment. Susan exceeded my expectations! She really listened to what I wanted to achieve as well as replicating the color and highlights from photos (of my own hair from a couple of years earlier). The salon is professional, welcoming, has good prices for top tier work. Susan also gave me a wonderful haircut that was flattering and brought my hair back to life. Also there's no high pressure to purchase products even though they do carry products. Salon is comfortable, upbeat music in the background, beverages are available for clients during the service. I can't say enough good things about Moonflower!

I'm very angry and disappointed with my experience at this salon. I would not recommend coming here…read moreif you don't want or like toner. The owner herself did my hair, and right from the start, it was unprofessional. She didn't even put the drape on me--she told me to do it myself. When I specifically told her that I don't like toner and didn't want it, she pushed it on me anyway. Against my better judgment, I ended up letting her do the toner, and it completely ruined the color I had in mind. Instead of the bright blonde I asked for, the toner made my hair look dull, flat, and ashy. It destroyed the existing blonde I had before and left me feeling so disappointed. When I expressed my concerns, she did not care at all. She didn't offer to fix it, add highlights, or do anything to make it right. Her attitude was dismissive, her energy was bad, and the entire experience felt unprofessional. I left feeling frustrated, unheard, and with hair I absolutely hate. I will never return to this salon, and I do not recommend it to anyone. I'm leaving the blonde picture of my highlights that I always have achieved with other stylist with no toner and the dull toner version from my experience at this salon.

I can always trust Krissy to do a great color and haircut…read more I have short very baby fine hair which is thinning more at my senior age! She's fast also so I don't have to spend hours in the chair. Thank you Krissy!

I look like a three yr old who rolled and napped in highlighter…read more I came in with a picture of myself with the color and application I wanted. This is the third discussion with photos I have provided to the same stylist. So, this was discussed, prepared, and planned for. The color I got was the wrong color, and it was misapplied. Came back the next day for a correction. The correction is a color bled mess, and my hair is now fried. I have an appointment to spend even more money somewhere else to fix this abomination. I paid and tipped day one with understanding of correction follow-up the next day. I went in blonde with some color on the underlayer (that I still wanted there but was ok if it wasn't). I'm blonde, so there is no issue with color taking. I spent 2+ hours in salon Friday, 2+ hour Saturday. Today is Sunday, and I have an appointment elsewhere for a consultation. I have a backup one tomorrow in case today's "professional" gives any inkling he/she does not know what to do to make a 40 yr old NOT look like she's ready for a meth-fueled booking log photo.
