As an aficionado of coconut ice cream I must confess I went back 2 days in a row for it at Kilwins. I even sampled at a competitor close by and it didn't compare. The coconut is toasted and then covered in chocolate. It's like a chocolate covered coconut macaroon mixed into creamy vanilla ice cream. I'll be thinking about it for a long time to come and definitely going back the next time I'm in Venice! read more

The store makes 0 sense. Signs to tell you to go around the store a certain wait and then wait at a second sign. You do so, and you get ignored... service comes without any form of customer service of interaction. People seemed miserable as heck. No one in the store yet you're required to wait at a sign so they can ignore you? What's the point of that? read more

I stopped in with my 5 year old grandson for an ice cream because he did so well at schools this week. Shortly after getting our ice cream, he had to go potty. I remember in the past that Kilwin's allowed customers to use the restroom. We were turned away and had to walk all the way down to the public restroom. Needless to say we did not make it. It ruined our outing and the fact that he had deserved a reward. I ended up with a 5 year old in tears. It broke my heart. Do better people. Sometimes there are emergencies read more

Looking for a sweet treat? This is one of the place. Over all their ice cream is delicious. Many variants- hard toWe got chocolate toasted coconut (the best!) and sea-salt caramel. The cone was crunchy and fresh. It's expensive but hey, sweet treat! The service was so-so. Not many people when we were there. Smells chocolate every where! read more

I'd give 1 star but I didn't get to take any pictures. My wife ordered a Carmel apple and the apple was rotting. For a $12 apple you should keep closer tabs on how long they've been sitting on your display. read more

The good: The hot Florida weather demands ice cream. I tried s'mores, mint chocolate and mud (vanilla with caramel and chocolate chips). The waffle cones tasted great. They were crispy and not frail nor too thick and hard. It had great flavor. This spot's located in downtown so it's a nice area to walk around and shop. They sold lots of chocolates too. The service was quick. My mother-in-law enjoyed her raspberry and chocolate ice cream. They have a no sugar added ice cream option as well. They also sell ice cream cake. The bad: The flavor options weren't too unique or interesting. The mint chocolate could've used more mint flavor. It mostly tasted sweet without a lot of other flavor. They didn't have indoor nor outdoor seating but there was a bench outside. I wish the s'mores had more graham cracker flavor. The interesting: They have a giant stuffed bear inside and the feel of the store is like Rocky Mountain Chocolates. This is a franchise with multiple locations throughout the south. read more

Great variety of choices, something for everyone! Ice cream, chocolate, and fudge are all delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful!

The ice cream tasted amazing! But the service was horrible! 2 teenage girls frustrated for my family asking for samples and slamming down my ice cream on the counter not even joking. We always tip but not here. The line was long so I understand the stress but it is no reason to be rude to customers. read more

Over priced but everything in Venice seems to be. Sundae was tasty. Smells great inside. Open kitchen type deal where they make cones in the window. Oddly overstaffed when so many other places are so thin, there was a horde of kids behind the counter. read more

Well I stopped in here tonight to grab an ice cream cone. I looked up and down at the flavors and decided on turtle cheesecake double scoop waffle cone. The lady was ringing it up before I ever saw a price and when she told me the price, I almost cancelled the order. 10 dollars for an ice cream cone. I figured it must be an amazing cone, but the exact opposite is true for that. It was not good ice cream and the waffle cone fell apart all over the sidewalk as I ate it. Atleast now I know that's a 10 dollar mistake I won't make again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Waited patiently in line abiding by the signs to wait at a certain point until you were called forward. The guy took my parents order and when I started to place mine he essentially told me no, asked just to ring up my peanut brittle. He then started taking other peoples orders behind me...he knew I was planning on ordering. My parents tried to tell the girl and she just stood there with a dead look on her face. At this point I was not only frustrated, but also hurt. Have never been treated like this at a place. Do better Kilwin's. read more

I have been here many times My mother is handicap and had an emergency to go to the bathroom. Desperate we went in and asked for the bathroom as it was an emergency and the public restrooms were further down the street. They said they don't have any. Of course they do.. I get you don't want people to use your restroom but that was ridiculous... they would rather a grown adult have an accident then make an exception for a handicap woman. Real nice... never going back read more

Apparently this location opens at 11:30am instead of the 11:00 posted on their site. Rude young man kept shaking his head at us while we looked in the windows. Instead of poking his head out and telling us that it didn't open until 11:30 AM, he went in the back printed out a piece of paper that said open at 11:30 and posted it on the door. Then walked away, shaking his head again. The owner should know that whoever is working for them is rude. That is, if they care. read more

Kilwins never disappoints when you have a sweet tooth! Doesn't matter if it's this location or another, you'll be sure to find a delicious treat! Don't have time to enjoy it, grab it to go and enjoy at home on the couch. Treat your inner child to moose tracks or the birthday flavor. Yum!! Pro tip: try their chocolate covered raisins and white chocolate Oreo bars - scrumptious!! read more

They served ice cream, candies, and chocolates. There was a good variety of all kinds. The prices were steep, however. The staff was courteous and quick to our order. I just went with 1 scoop of pistachio ice cream ($4.35?). It was creamy with plenty of pistachios present. I am not sure if it was worth the price though. Will I go back? Debatable. read more

Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge - Pistachio Ice Cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Venice, Florida

Wonderful fudge I walked in expecting to get some ice cream but hesitated at the display case of a large number of fudge choices. Kilwin's makes their fudge in the store, to the delight of tourists and others watching the process. My wife had made sure I missed out on leftover Halloween candy this year and a piece of fudge sounded perfect. It probably helped that there was not the smell of waffle cones in the air that you often find at a Kilwin's. I got my wedge of fudge placed in a nice box and brought it home, where I enjoyed a small piece and look forward to more later. It quickly melts in your mouth leaving pieces of pecans behind. Sweet and delicious. read more

Went in here to get some chocolates today. Prices are pretty high, most items being over $30 per pound. We picked up coconut clusters, chocolate tuttles (like Turtles), and cherry cordials. The coconut clusters tasted waxy and the tuttles weren't that great. The cherry cordials (dark chocolate) were tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely staff and great ice cream. The place itself was really cute and clean. We were served quickly and would 100% go back.

Kilwin's has locations at several beach towns and is always a must stop when visiting. They hand make all their fudge and treats and you can watch their handiwork if you happen to be walking by at the right time. They have traditional flavors like sea salt chocolate and peanut butter and interesting flavors like toasted coconut. Their other treats include Carmel and chocolate covered apples, chocolate covered pretzels, ice cream, bon bons, turtles and more. I got the pecan turtles and raspberry bon bons on this visit and they didn't disappoint! At $33 a pound, they are rather pricey but the treats are so great and those are typical prices at a prime beach location. I always ask for a glass of ice water too because the treats are so sweet. Enjoy! read more

If you have a sweet tooth this place can be very very dangerous ~ beware. Walking into Kilwins gives you a Willy Wonka Movie type of feel. They always have a candy maker in the window whipping up some type of fresh treat. Their glass cases full of chocolate covered treats are very appealing to the eye. You can smell the sweet aroma from their freshly pressed waffle cones three stores away. I go here for their ice cream cones, which are vastly over priced, but a really fun treat to get while you walk down the palm tree lined streets of Venice Ave read more

I remember passing a Kilwin's during the summer at St. Armands Circle. The line was out the door, causing my curiosity to peak as I wondered what kind of delicious desserts this place had in store. I was pleasantly informed that they had another one in Venice, so needless to say I had to give it a try! Upon entering you are not only greated with the sweetest smells you can imagine, but you also get to choose from their wide selection of desserts, ice-cream, candies, fudge and other various merchandise for purchase. I held myself back from buying out the entire store's fudge supply and settled on some icecream. Everybody in my party loved their icecream choices, they also had a few unique selections that are available for you to taste if you are interested. The toppings and sauces aren't clearly listed on the board, so be sure to ask to make your icecream sundae as epic as possible (I asked for marshmellow sauce, which was AWESOME). They don't have a huge selection of candied toppings, surprisingly, but they have enough of a selection to make a decent sundae. My sundae was so great, my family and I came back a few days later to enjoy the experience again! Heads up that it definitely can get crowded in there. Both times we walked in and it was empty...then a few minutes later there was a huge rush of people. I am not sure how to overcome that, but just always be prepared for it! They are also a little pricey, hence why I am only giving them four stars instead of five. Enjoy! read more

My family and I went to this bakery in high hopes! But, the service was quite slow(the guy at the counter weighed out chocolates one by one) and not one person smiled! All in all the chocolate is very good, but the service needs to put a happy face on and be respectful! read more

This place is nice and fun, but the prices are so expensive! $4.79 for a single scoop and over a dollar for a small truffle-Yowzers. I prefer Scoops-a bit further down the Tamiami and more affordable, but if your on Venice Ave. and can afford it-this is a good spot. Otherwise, there's a Brewers ice cream shop that's cheaper and about a block down on Venice Ave. next to the shirt stop, which is better if you have kids. read more

My impression of Kilwin's just went down the toilet. I first at here several years ago when my parents moved to town and thought it was tasty and high quality. I still think it's tasty by low quality based on what I learned today. I told my wife I didn't want the coffee or cappuccino chip because I didn't want the caffeine because I didn't want to be up all night. One of the employees overheard me and said, "don't worry, there's no caffeine." When I asked how that could be, she cheerfully replied, "it's made with artificial ingredients." At about $4 a scoop, I would think that the price was justified by the ingredients. I could put my dirty foot in chocolate and it might taste ok by these standards. read more

Great fudge and ice cream!! Usually no waiting and very friendly staff , enjoy their 3 pounds of fudge for price of two!

I saw someone making caramel dipped apples through the front window, and I had to go in! There were lots of chocolate dipped sweet sugary treats in display cases and I had a hard time deciding on what to try. My husband tried the chocolate almond bark and loved it. I tried the chocolate covered Nutter Butter with milk chocolate. It was the nice little chocolate treat to satisfy my craving for something sugary. The woman working at the counter was nice and patient with us as we gawked at all of our options. I would like to go back and try out their other options. The prices are a little high, and I'd like to see what all the hype is about their ice cream (I'm an ice cream snob). I enjoyed checking out their packaged gifts and treats. If I lived down here, I'd definitely visit here more often. read more
