I'm just gonna make a list of what I liked: - Challenging yet fairly open course. - New Glarus and Rush River Brewing on tap in the bar. - Greens were in great shape and it's now August. - Not that busy. - 2 for 1 coupons galore. The best part? The phone app that lets you reserve tee times, use as a scorecard, get hole info and as you make your way down each hole, the GPS function will tell you how far you are from the hole. Plus you get a menu pop-up in case you want to put in a food order. It was pretty slick. I hope more courses start doing this. read more

Given the late season, the course was in great condition. It was nice they remained open. Many courses were already closed. I enjoy golfing there, not only because of the location, but it's easy to get on and the staff are easy going and inviting. Its not a "stuffy" place. The course has a nice mix of challenging holes. I also appreciate that they are working on updating the course. The only reason I gave it four stars was because they had just closed the driving range for the season. read more

My group and I have been going to their fish fry's for many years. We have tried other fish fry's in the area and they are by far the best. Food is always great as is the variety. Salad bar, soup, main fish entree with sides to go with and many really good desserts. Plus it is all you can eat. The service is also top notch. read more

I have played this course several times and have always enjoyed it. I like the variety of holes. As a senior, the prices are very fair and the forward tees allow for a round that is "interesting" but not overly challenging for someone of my skill level. I would recommend this course to anyone. read more

I haven't been over here for years, but I met a couple friends there yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice conditions and well maintained. Wide fairways, quick greens and fun overall. Had a little issue with pace of play, but we got through the groups and moved along well. Good value, nice course, nice staff. Power was out yesterday, so we didn't get to try the food, but will next time. I'll be back. read more

$36 to walk 9 holes on a Wednesday! Dynamic pricing is a scam as it clearly does not factor in standing water on fairways and in sand traps. Won't be back. read more

Hospitality and people-wise, Kilkarney Hills is great, as the entire staff are very friendly and personable. However, when it comes to the golf, there's a lot to be desired. The greens are actually fairly nice, but beyond that you can expect fairly shaggy tee boxes and fairways, rustic and dated carts as well as cart paths and hardpan bunkers. Prices are reasonable, so it's not that the course is billing itself as something it isn't, it just leaves a lot to be desired compared to it's peers. Bottom line: Killkarney is a good course if you're not looking to take a round too seriously or if you're just starting out with the game. read more

The only thing that could have been better would have been a bottle of Irish whiskey with us. The course was fun with many interesting holes that make fun to play. Golf course was laid out well and with four tee boxes on every hole it is fun for everyone. You use a lot of different clubs and will definitely come back this summer. read more

I will say the course overall was fun to play, and the staff in the clubhouse were friendly enough, but the grounds crew and owner Greg, not so much, we won't be going back. We were started on #10 because of league play which was fine but when we got to #18 green they were spraying the whole green and surrounding area. They had their hose pulled all the way across the entire green, no way to play the hole without hitting the hose. When we asked if they had to do that maintenance right now they said sorry, if you don't like it do you want to talk to one of the owners? So the other guy standing there says I'm one of the owners, Greg O'Malley and if you don't like it you can play somewhere else. We had 2 foursomes playing that day and both had to play off the hose on the green. The hose turned out to be less of an issue then did the attitude, Greg is right though, with so many courses to pick from, we won't be back. read more

The course had a very scenic layout. Right when you thought you figured out where you were going there was an new interesting twist to the hole. Even with the harsh winter/spring most of the greens where in excellent condition. The first nine were very enjoyable while the back nine were the more challenging of the two. Knowing where you were going on the back would definitely be helpful =)! The staff was eager to be of assistant, and especially with the extremely hot weather offering refreshments around every turn. The hot weather was as very manageable with all the trees that covered the entire course. I would definitely play Kilkarney Hills again...hopefully on a day that isn't in the 100s! read more

Kilkarney Hills was an average course to play. On paper it looks very easy/straight with not much as far as hazards go but it is a narrow course and there is not much room for error around the greens. This course had nice fairways and the greens were spotty. The staff was very friendly. read more

My husband got a hole-in-one on hole number 12 at Kilkarney Hills on Father's Day. When we returned to the clubhouse, the bartender did not know the procedure for dealing with a hole-in-one. He called Travis, the course pro. Travis congratulated my husband and said he would be there Friday night, before our couple's league, to have my husband fill out the paperwork and buy a keg for the league. Well, we got there ready to do the paperwork and buy the keg. The pro did not show. He did not leave any of the paperwork for the hole-in-one there for my husband to fill out, either. We are very disappointed in Kilkarney Hills for their lack of professionalism. read more

The course was in pretty good shape. On a windy, hot day the grounds crew were out watering and clearing greens that had leaves on them, improving playability. The course is challenging with lots of risk/reward shots if you are adventurous, but also forgiving with wide open landing areas. Carts don't have GPS so I would recommend bringing one the first time out here. Great clubhouse atmosphere and the beer cart always seemed to be right around the corner. A good round at a good price without having to drive too far outside the cities. read more
