The only downside, in my opinion, is that even though the live performance is amazing, it is a little too loud, especially when you are trying to talk with your group. Consider your visit an offering, no matter the outcome. As one of the very knowledgable guides (Chris) explained, these animals are here out of necessity. This is not a zoo, or a carnival where they parade the animals around or try to get them to perform for visitors. This is a blessing for these traumatized animals, who come here either injured and rejected by their pack, or unable to fend for themselves in the wild because they were born in captivity. We had plenty of glimpses of lions and tigers and bobcats, when they chose to grace us with their presence. Q&A session at the end is wonderful, and Chris was very patient with all of our questions. I couldn't be more grateful and moved for having had this experience, and for the work they do here. It is truly God's work.

Their whole point is to rescue farm animals from cruelty and *slaughter* -- so it seems like common sense that a place that literally rescues farm animals from being slaughtered would also, of course, oppose slaughter and therefore, support veganism. We arrived to find parking along a busy highway (?!?), with golf carts shuttling visitors to and from the entrance, just a few feet away from cars whizzing past. That was weird. Then we got to the sort of holding area where they keep guests until their reservation time. Before we went in, the owner came out to greet us...sort of. She gave us a basic history of the place, but before she did, she wished us "happy pride" and told us all about how virtuous she was, as if everyone should be celebrating? Weird and inappropriate to say the least. The last thing she did before allowing us the entrance we'd paid handsomely for, was to lecture us about becoming vegans. Which is one of my biggest pet peeves about vegans to begin with. Then she stood at the entrance and offered everyone literature on veganism as we walked past. I declined. Wholly inappropriate, offensive and off putting. I didn't pay to be lectured about something I disagree with. It was nice to (finally) see and interact with the animals, but some of the volunteers were too much. I understand they're used to dealing with idiots every weekend, but some of the instructions they were giving were flat out dangerous, like having babies (maybe 18 months old) feed carrots to grabby, nippy horses. Bad idea when little hands aren't any bigger than the carrots. Most (not all) volunteers were just a bit too power trippy and under-educated for my taste. I will say the facilities were pretty clean and appeared well kept, but the horses and donkeys were filthy and in dire need of grooming. Give your visitors brushes and curry combs and show them how to brush the animals. Win-win for everyone. It was nice to hang out with the animals, but most of the people I could do without. There's so much potential for this place to have more space and continue helping even more animals. The staff was absolutely wonderful...friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. They shared stories about the animals with us, along with some interesting wildlife facts, and I really enjoyed learning more about the animals we were seeing. The only thing I would have really loved was more interaction with the animals. But I completely understand that they're wild animals, so that's not always an option...and honestly, a girl can dream, lol! One thing that really stood out to me was how happy everyone seemed to be working there. You could genuinely tell that the staff cares about the animals and enjoys what they do, and I think that says a lot about the organization. Their public tours are an effort to raise funds for animal maintenance and to educate the public about the harm to the animals of raising non-domesticated exotic pets. The stories they tell are frightening. Who in their right mind would try to raise a wolf family in an apartment? Who with any common sense would think a monkey would make a good pet? People can be extremely stupid and self-centered when it comes to exotic animals, unfortunately. This is why so many exotic animals end up in danger, on the streets, or in packed rescues. The mostly-volunteer staff did a remarkable job introducing us to the animals in their care. The wide variety of animals calling Animal Tracks home is mind-boggling: birds, kangaroos, wolves, porcupines, baboons, donkeys, horses....the list goes on and on. The animals seemed clean and well-cared for by staff that is very invested. The only issue we had was parking access. Our car was blocked in by another guest's car for at least 20 minutes, without any warning that we might be blocked in. Finally, a staff member asked the remaining guests who was parked there and they did eventually move their car. If you are an animal lover, the tour is highly recommended. Perfect for kids!

So on Sunday morning at 6:10 am we left our house and got there at 7 am to pick some peaches. The sun had just risen and the orchard looked heavenly thru the peach trees. My husband and I picked a lot of peaches and some plums. I'll be making plum jam this week. But the peaches we enjoy eating as a snack, I also baked a peach galette. So delicious. The peaches are juicy and sweet. It was worth our time and money. We picked over 60 pounds. I have some to family and friends and the rest we are enjoying it daily. I even made a whipped ricotta and peach toast. Delicious. I'm hoping I will have time to go back again one more time this season. We purchased tickets thru Groupon which included $15 to use towards activities on the farm and you can always purchase more tickets onsite. Our group did a lil of everything , petting zoo, archery, maze, pumpkin decorating, pony riding. They have a small food court with 2-3 food vendors. The lady with the tacos and pupusas is so nice and friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. The hot dogs are yummy with an amazing snap to them. There was a small family business selling fresh sourdough as well so we had to pick some up. Yes the bathrooms are port a potties but they are clean. Internet is choppy as expected up on a mountain and actually forced everyone to be present and enjoy time together rather than being on our phones posting. I went in and told the man behind the counter and he said sorry leave it here. I went up to the register to get my refund and the young lady said .... I need the bread, I explained how the man asked me to put it over at the counter and she replied with "well I need it" . She went over and brought it and told me there's nothing wrong with it and "it's supposed to be sour" WHAT ?!! I explained to her that I've had those breads multiple times and NO they're not supposed to be sour. She then said "well we don't have daily bread" well if you don't have daily bread maybe you shouldn't sell 3-4 day old bread with custard.
