I've been looking for something for dehydrated skin (the bane of my life) and decided to pop in here to see if I could get some help. Now this review was nearly a 2-star because the staff initially seemed a bit like they couldn't be assed and I was struggling to catch someone's else even though I'd been loitering in the skin care area for ages. Finally I got someone to help me and she was great - actually really helpful, showing me the products and happily gave me decent sized mini tubs to take home and try. I mean, if I'm going to spend £60 on moisturiser, I want to make sure it's amazing. This store is also a lot bigger than I expected and has a range of candles/bubble baths. If you're looking for something a bit more upmarket than Boots/Superdrug for your skin care and makeup, then Space NK is pretty damn amazing.

They stock NARS, Laura Mercier and stunning Shu Uemura eyelashes that will definitely make a statement. The staff are very helpful and you can get free consultations on the best products for your skin and tips on getting a flawless complection. I was once put in the direction of "Dr. Seabagh Foaming Cleanser" after a couple of months of breakout hell. I'd tried everything and this was a last resort, It wasn't cheap, £22 for 100ml bottle and I was sceptical but I decided to give it a go. It cleared up my skin in about 5 days, it was like a miracle! I swore by the stuff for nearly two years but then I moved to Germany for ten months and it stopped working. It could have been the water there but I haven't used it since. I might pop back soon to give it another shot as when it worked the results were fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for quick results for breakouts. As far as I'm aware Space NK is the only stockist in Glasgow, hurrah! They used to stock loads of Philosophy products but they don't have so many anymore. My favourite purchase from here was a lipgloss set from Philosophy which was called "A Few Good Men", these men were, "The Muffin Man" - a lemon muffin flavoured lipgloss, "The Gingerbread Man" - a tasty gingerbread lipgloss and my favourite, "The Ice-Cream Man." Unfortunately they don't have this set anymore, but who knows, maybe one day they'll make a return. Space NK is great, quite expensive but sometimes you need to pay that little bit extra when it comes to cosmetics. They also do sales now and then so you could grab yourself a bargain!

As well a huge make-up range they also do their own skincare. My favourite Laura Mercier products have to be their candles, body and bath range. Their Creme Brulee Honey Bath is to die for, it smells good enough to eat and comes with the cutest ever wooden honey dipper. My Mum got a set of Laura Mercier candles for her Christmas a couple of years ago which were chocolate, creme brulee and coconut scented, they had hours of burn tim and the whole house smelled amazing. I always try to get my Mum to buy as many bath products from here as possible - the more the Mercier!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the products were no more expensive than Bobbi Brown or Mac. Laura Mercier's foundations are fast becoming iconic although I personally have found them too heavy for my liking. I was very pleased when Laura released a range of mineral makeup as I find this still gives great coverage but it doesn't feel as though you have a load of slap on! I have to agree with Eleanor that the bath and body products are divine! I have very sensitive skin but Laura Mercier's products don't seem to irritate it which is great. Any good makeup artist will tell you that great makeup is nothing without the right tools and Laura Mercier's makeup brushes are the best I've tried. My mum bought me a set for Christmas and I look after them like they are made of solid gold! I bought baby shampoo purely for washing my special makeup brushes, sad but true! This store is definitely worth a look if you fancy treating yourself but very few people could afford to kit themselves out with loads of Laura Mercier products. They're not as expensive as I expected but that doesn't mean they're cheap either!

In fact, I even crossed the road for the sole purpose of going in there (and, you know, Great Western Road isn't exactly an easy road to get across). I found that Beautique is a very cute (if very small) boutique selling skincare and nail products. They also offer a variety of skincare and nail treatments. Although the selection of products was nice, I was a little disappointed that they didn't stock any other cosmetics (I was on a hunt for some mascara....) Nevertheless, a cute shop with some luxurious products and treatments.

This store offers makeup services, application sessions and lessons (great for learning new techniques), and demos on the spot if you're just a walk-in customer. When I visited, all the staff (I think there was 3 of them) were all busy looking after customers who were getting makeovers so I wasn't offered any help but I was happy to have a wee look around myself anyway. I'd definitely return for an in-store makeup session, particularly because the cost is redeemable against a purchase - so even if you don't want to go all out with a whole new look, you could treat yourself to a lovely new lipstick or something like that.

At £18 it's actually really reasonable with some top make-up brands charging a ridiculous £25+ for foundation and it lasts for ages too. I'm not an eyeshadow person but they have a huge range of eyeshadows in gorgeous colours, great for wearing on their own or layering too. Their lipsticks and glosses are also stunning and I have a few really fabulous MAC brushes. MAC is always really busy so unless you go it when it unusually quiet, or ask for advice yourself then you won't be grabbed by the staff here and talked into buying something you don't need. Around winter season MAC always bring out gift sets for Christmas presents, usually brush sets, eyeliner sets and lipgloss sets too. These are usually smaller than the full size products but still just as good quality and you make an amazing saving too. They're all about recycling at MAC so if you return 6 bottles of full sized products to get re-used then you get to choose a free product so make sure you keep those empty bottles. All in all, MAC make-up is certainly about making a statement so if you're looking for a new head turning look then head here and ask for some make-up tips and products for a fabulous new you.

The £30 session lasts 30 mins and is more just tips. I had the £50 session and the girl who was working with me was amazing. She put me totally at ease and didnt make me feel silly for getting to my 30's and not really knowing how to apply makeup properly. I was talked through each step of the way and consulted on what colours/products i would like to try. When applying the makeup she encouraged me to try adding a bit more when needed but totally listened when i said i didnt want to look really overdone. There was no hard sell either. Obviously i had to spend the £50 but she didnt make me try and spend more and they give you a wee chart with all the products used so you can re-create the look at home and also purchase items at a later date. Thanks to this class i have really gotten over my fear of mac stores and applying makeup. I really enjoyed my afternoon and it was a great experience. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that the artists are constantly told to "break away" to work on tills to reduce queues. I get its busy but we are paying for a service and it would be nice to have the artists full attention. Sort this mac and it would be a full 5 stars!

The store pretty much looks the same as it did before and if you aren't a regular, you probably wouldn't notice the new additions they have added. There is now a really nice skincare bar where customers can sit and complete their skin profile on the ipad. It's just multiple choice and takes very little time to do. Afterwards, you are recommended the products in store that are most likely to suit you. The skincare consultant I spoke to told me that the ipad had been a huge success so far and that men in particular, seem to like it and have made purchases. I can see the appeal. Although you can still chat to the staff if you are in a rush or just want time to answer the skincare questions on your own, it's perfect! I love this store. It is so clean and the staff are lovely. They really strike the right balance of being friendly yet not making you feel bombarded. Some other companies I can think of could learn a thing or two from the staff here... I made a couple of purchases (couldn't resist) and also got a VIP goody bag as I was a blogger (which is LOVELY! I've been seriously spoiled). Using the app, I learned so much more about my skin and that there are other products I might want to try (though I was relieved to learn that some of the products I'm currently using from them are perfect for me!). I'm definitely going to be back again soon because there is so much I want to try now! Oh, and don't be afraid to ask for samples - they are more than happy to accommodate. I find The Body Shop to be really good value for money but it is nice to try a product first at home before you make a purchase. Great store and it really doesn't get praised enough! I LOVE IT!!

No, that's not exactly what I expect to find when I head into a Superdrug - but once you know it's there, it is really useful. Especially as they often have two-for-one or half price deals on. They also have quite a good selection of magazines - although when I say "quite a good selection" I mean that they have a fuly stocked range of gossip magazines. Whether it's Heat, Star or Hello that you're after - you'll find them all here. This reasonably sized Superdrug has had a wee makeover and I have to say it's no' bad. At first confused was I as they had dared to MOVE items and such, what a cheek I thought, but then I got used to the layout and now I approve. They cram quite a lot in here and one thing I like the most about the new change is the make up section to the right as you walk in ~ it's much better than it was before and they've also introduced a few new make up ranges (Sleek, B., GOSH and the excellent MUA & Makeup Revolution brands) which gets a big foundation/blusher/lippy covered thumb(s) up from me. They stock a good variety of skincare and haircare brands. Nothing on the high end brand scale spectrum, but all the usual 'drugstore' brands you would expect to see.
