I ended up paying twice as much as the vehicle was worth. I also ( within a day) took it back because the steering wasn't right. It was swaying and the steering wheel wasn't straight. They said they gave it an alignment, but the problem was still there. They did it again, still there. I kept telling them the problem was still there and their response was " well, we can't find it". They had to reluctantly, I might add, repair the heat as it wasn't working properly. They did what they could to get past that warranty period of 90 days. As I bought this towards winter, I didn't use the AC until the following summer. Nope. No AC as they condenser was shot. I could barely keep it on the road for the sway, they refused to make it right or find the issue as it was a problem at purchase, they said. They wanted my money for more appointments. I took it elsewhere and it was verified that it was a bad Rack & Pinion. It had chewed THREE sets of tires. One set I had had them put on and through that and TWO alignments, they somehow completely missed that the Rack & Pinion was bad. (?????) Either their service dept.is completely incompetent OR they knew and didn't want to pony up for the repairs. Either way, terrible service. In less than one years time, I have had to dish out 3K for their incompetence's. Granted, I should have Blue booked it before purchase, so I eat the double cost. However, to detail a car and just slap it on the lot without going over the vehicle ( If they HAD gone over it correctly, these issues would have ALL been seen and addressed, no excuse) is bad business. I was told this vehicle was gone over and in top condition. I'll not only never go back there again, I won't recommend anyone go there.

Maybe I got the wrong salesman but this place was not friendly at all. I dont need someone telling me that I am getting a great deal and should just take it. Thats very insulting, who are they to judge what is or isnt a great deal. I dont need a salesman being arrogant and insulting me just because I dont like the price they offered. Just move on and keep your feelings to yourself.

On Sunday the 8th, my car a 2013 Dodge Durango stopped working as I drove from Erie to my home in…read morePittsburgh, so I had it towed to Griffin Motors. Being a Sunday, the place was closed. On Monday morning, one of the service guys called me and told me it was the water pump and it would be ~$600. I asked him if they accepted the secondary warranty company that I had purchased, and they said no. I told him that I would get back to him. I called around and it seemed like it would cost me ~$150 to get it towed to the nearest place that accepted the warranty. I called the dealership back and asked how long it would take to get the pump fixed; they said I'd have the back the next day, so I okayed the work and told them I'd pay out of pocket if I'd have it back in 48 hours. They called me back and told me that they had fixed the pump, but the actual issue was the engine, and that I was looking at about $5500 to get it repaired. I told them I'd be finding a place that accepted my warranty to get that work done. I called the dealership I had originally bought it from (Rick Weaver in Erie), and they told me that they'd call the garage. RW called back and told me that they had spoken with griffin motors and they had agreed to sub-let the work, including the engine work, and RW would run the claim through the warranty company. This was on Wednesday I called the garage on Thursday to make sure there was no issues and that they were able to start working on the car and was told they were waiting on paperwork from RW. Didn't really think much of it. Called again Friday, said they were still waiting. I called RW and they said they were waiting on paperwork from the the garage. Ok, miscommunication somewhere. I called back to the garage, and they told me theyd get back in touch with the OD. Monday rolls around, and I call RW since they seemed more on top of things. They told me the garage was now refusing to do the engine work because I didn't buy the car from them. RW was going to tow the vehicle the 45 minutes to their place on Tuesday, and then we would bill everything, including the pump, through the warranty. Ok, perfect, now I just have to deal with one place, and the pump is paid for. I call back on Tuesday to make sure there weren't any hangups, and-shocker-there was. The garage refused to release my car without me paying the bill, even though they had told RW the day before that they would. I called the garage and left a message with the garage manager. He called me back today (11 days after orgininally diagnosing the issue as a water pump), and was salty and arrogant from the word "hello". I asked him multiple times why I kept getting information that was clearly incorrect, and he kept trying to explain to me that they couldn't have known about the engine until the pump was fixed. I told him I grasped that, but that I shouldn't have been told I'd have my car back in two days if I agreed to fix just the pump. I asked why I was told that they would sub contract the work on the engine, and then almost a week later told they wouldn't-without even a call to me, and me having to find out from RW. He refused to answer and went back to the pump. I asked why I wasn't originally told they didn't do engine work, and why it's sat there for a week. At this point, he told me that he was going to start charging me a daily storage fee until I paid the bill. I said that was bull**** and got hung up on. I called back and asked for the manager/owner of the store. I explained the situation and asked why I kept getting wrong information, and he, like the service manager, focused on the water pump issue, ignoring anything else, including the fact that I had yet to be told the amount of money that I owed but was going to be charge a storage fee. He said that he would contact RW and get back to me, and we ended the conversation. I don't expect that to go anywhere at this point but needed to get off the phone before I went off. The owner ("Tommy") called back and tried to talk me in circles. He told me that the problem was fixed and I owed them money before they'd released the car. I asked if the car was driveable, and, like every other point I brought up, was ignored. He then told me he was done talking to me and that he was going to put a mechanics lien on my car. Awful, awful service, communication, and ability all around. I can't decide if they are just that incompetent or if this is them just being crooks and trying to get work I wouldn't have otherwise authorized. Probably a combination.

After 700 bucks, I get my jeep home the next day. I smell gas/exhaust...think "ok...I got a new part on...it will smell for a day". Two days later I keep noticing a gas smell, then it got Really bad..I drove it for the CBC on Sunday...and I stalled. I ran out of gas, which was odd because on Friday I had 1/4 tank and didn't go anywhere. Triple A came gave me gas, but we noticed fuel leaking from the engine..and towed me home. I noticed under my jeep I had a river of GAS flowing out of it and my engine was smoking ( due to gas hitting things). I had my jeep towed to Griffin Motors because obviously they did something wrong, no car would get a huge leak like that all of a sudden. SO they take a look at it and say "It's a coincidence that this just happened, it wasn't their fault, I need two new fuel lines and it would cost me 500-600 including labor. They insisted it wasn't their fault and my lines were bad. I went up there, and had my jeep towed to my normal mechanic....and they had told me that Grifflin LIED to me, that they didn't place the lines back correctly, and the leaks were right UNDER the exhaust manifold. It cost me 80 bucks to get my issue fixed from them. 80. I paid 80 bucks to fix an error from Griffin Motors...who wanted to charge me up to 600 bucks to fix a problem THEY created. I could of died from an explosion. So anyone in meadville area...do NOT take your car to Griffin Motors. I placed a call to the area manager and of course he has not returned my call, but I will be like a rash until I get heard.

Smith Gray guaranteed it was an excellent deal - well worth $4900 and so I bought it. Two weeks later my new $4900 car needed $2200 worth of repairs. They pleaded ignorance - they refused responsibility.. Their remedy was to put me between a rock and a hard place. They would finance the repairs and allow me to pay them back over time with interest OR they would buy it back for $2000. That generous offer took them almost a month to make. In the meantime, I had a nice-looking car sitting in the driveway. I live in small town and most people know each other or at least know the family name. I thought hucksters lived in bigger cities where it was easy to take advantage of strangers because they never saw the people they stole money from. But I know the Smith-Gray business. I graduated with the owner. He knew me and my family. If you want all the details, look up the complaint I filed with the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Don't make the mistake I did. The dealership had the car for a week, and in that time ducked my inquires as to what repairs needed done and who was doing the body work (It was outsourced). My doubts increased, and I insisted before I buy that my autobody mechanic, Jeff Kingston, should look at it. The car was lent to me overnight, and I took it to my mechanic who saide there was an additional spot that needed patched, and that as it was, it should not have passed a new inspection. I brought the car back to the dealership and I told the salesman, Mark Laperriere, about the additional repair. I was left to sit after being told that inspections are "subjective" and the car was put on a lift. After some time, I was brought in an office with Mark and Justin Gray, the sales manager, and accused by both of them of colluding with my bodyshop to have caused the damage present on the frame. I took my deposit back and knew I was right to have the vehicle checked. Smith-Gray tried to saddle me with a rusted out wreck. Mark kept trying to sell me the car even after Justin had stormed out of the office; oblivious to the fact that he just accused me of damaging the car. Mark was nice enough to give me a ride home, but I will never deal with Smith-Gray again. I am a disabled veteran, and as a vetran looking out for other veterans, I'm saying don't give Smith-Gray the time of day; they don't deserve your business or patronage in any way.

They made my mother cry…read more... Im writing this review on her behalf because she is too kindhearted to do it herself. My parents have been longstanding, loyal customers with Weber-Harris for many years - 3 cars as well as completing maintenance work there. It all started when she was lied to about her extended warranty being expired (she still had several years left) and needed to make a decision to pay for the repairs or trade-in the 2011 Ford Focus. After being lied to and manipulated, my mother ended up paying for the repair from the value of the trade-in. So she bought the car, drove off the lot to her house 2.2 miles away. Now, if you know Meadville in the winter, it can get a bit snowy and icy. She couldn't get up the driveway in a Ford Escape. She went back to the dealership and asked why she wasn't informed about the tires being summer tires. They proceeded to tell her that she could have negotiated tires in with the new contract but it was too late and would need to buy a whole new set. After CRYING and being too overwhelmed that they wouldn't work with her, she gave up and went to Flynns. I truly could not be more disappointed and saddened by how she was manipulated, lied to, and taken advantage of. You will not be receiving our services again and we will make sure to spread the word of how customers are not your first priority. You should be ashamed of yourselves. *buyer be aware*
