This place is unreal. My children were patients there for YEARS, until I finally realized we could go somewhere where the front desk staff was FRIENDLY, and the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR wasn't the FIRST AND ONLY CONCERN. At KidZdent, I paid in full every single time I left that office, had no alternative!!!!! I PRE PAID for orthodonture for TWO children UP FRONT and IN FULL (almost 10 grand) and yet showed up for a 6 month check up one time a few days before the 6 month point, and the hygienists in the back made a HUGE SCENE, not wanting to take care of my kids because insurance wouldn't pay for it!!!! Number 1...I knew I changed insurance and it didn't matter, and Number 2, as I said, why on Earth do they even care??? You CAN NOT walk out the door unless you pay in FULL...which I did every single time. The dentists and orthodontists are delightful, pleasant people, who do a wonderful job, but their office manager Nancy, and the staff need lessons in kindness and caring and learning how to treat your good paying patients with a little class. I got to the point where I felt like I needed to leave the credit card at the front desk before going in the back, and that is JUST WRONG. Miss the professionals (the dentists) but the stressful feeling every 6 months is GONE....AMEN!!! read more

I brought my 1 and a half year old son to the office for his first dentist visit and the experience could not have been better. The staff was very helpful with my son and I could not be happier that I chose to come to the office. I would highly recommend this office. read more

The facility is clean and very nice but it's tough to get appointments unless you schedule weeks before.

It's extremely difficult to get appointments that don't require you to either take a date off work or take your kids out of school to go to the dentist. After 5 years with this practice, we've decided to find another dentist because it's increasingly hard to make appointments that work for us, unless you are able to schedule many months in advance, which when you have a schedule that changes frequently is not an option. There's zero attempt to be accommodating on the staff's part as it comes to scheduling issues and they are not nice about it on top of it all. read more

Awful!! Told us our daughter had cavities. We took her to our dentist and she didn't have any. Really makes me think about the other cavity they filled in the past. Horrible- don't go there! read more

My Kids having been going to Kidzdent for about 5 years now. Both had to have braces and now we are using them for regular dental visits. Without getting into personal details I will just say about 1/2 way thru my daughters treatment for braces we had a major life changing event in our family that suddenly dropped us into financial ruin. We still owed quite a bit for her braces and and of course all the rest of our normal bills. When I went and spoke to the billing department... I can not express in words how KIND & UNDERSTANDING, they were and they helped me work out a payment plan, that was affordable for us. Later, in that same year, I was still in debt, working 3 jobs and trying to take care of my 2 kids. They were both way over due for cleanings. I couldn't afford medical insurance and was still waiting to hear if I qualified for state assistance. A friend let me know that KIDZDENT provided a free dental day on February 5th which they have been doing for several years now, as part of some kind of national movement. I didn't know what to expect but went and was soo surprised at how well organized they were. My kids are teens so they are a little older but it was great to see the set up they had to make it fun for the younger kids. They had all kids of costumed characters walking around and entertaining the lil ones, and educating and encouraging them about proper dental care. All of the staff were so kind and helpful and they did a great job on my kids exams and cleanings. They even did a couple of fillings the kids needed! I will never be able to THANK them enough for the help they have given me, and the peace of mind not having to worry about the kids teeth for a little while. I will always highly recommend them and now that my financial situation is getting better I look forward to returning for my kids treatments at KIDZDENT from now on. Beth Old Bridge read more

Our first experience was great. Not a problem. The dentist was very friendly. We were scheduled for the 6month cleaning and we had to miss it and rescheduled and miss it again. Apparently if you forget to call because you are busy with your sick child and miss the appointment again, you are treated very poorly. I just spoke with a very rude employee and was told I would have to call daily to see if there is appointments available and what not. The tone in her voice completely changed once she replied we missed the appointments and when I went to say goodbye she replied with a "hmmhum" and no good bye. Don't worry kidzdent- we won't be back and will find someone else who understands what having a medically fragile child is like. I hope the staff member that I spoke with sees this as well and is ashamed of herself. read more

BEWARE!!!! When I first found Kidzdent in September of last year after much research, I was at ease knowing my daughter would be in good hands for the early years of her dental care. Or so I thought ... Dr. Brunsden and his staff constantly failed to communicate from the start. I was told my daughter had hypoplasia and her molars needed "restorations" to help strengthen the teeth and prevent decay. However, at no time before this procedure was performed were myself or my husband informed that there was a possibility these restorations could fail. This should have been conveyed to us before the work even started so we knew this could be a possibility. You can imagine my surprise when I was flossing my daughter's teeth just days later and the floss got caught on the back of her molar, popping that restoration right off. To make matters worse, this incident happened over Memorial Day weekend. I called Kidzdent's on-call service that Saturday, told them what happened, and they directed me to a dental practice about 30 minutes away... that doesn't specialize in pediatric dentristy, and therefore could do nothing to help my daughter. We eventually took her back to Kidzdent to have the issue corrected later in the week. However, weeks later she was still having issues. We brought her back to see Dr. Brunsden. He and his staff failed to properly inform me that he thought my 3 yr old daughter needed a pulpotomy. I was not given any forms to prepare me for what was to come next visit or what dental work our visit would entail. The staff member at the front desk also scheduled my daughter's appointment in the late afternoon ... after a long day of school and right around her dinner time, KNOWING she would need novacaine and would not be able to eat directly afterwards. Dr. Brunsden blamed this mistake on the staff member being "new". The staff also failed to inform me ahead of time that my daughter would need novacaine shots in addition to laughing gas AND would have to be put into restraints in the chair to ensure she didn't move. Had I been adequately informed about the procedure ahead of time, I would have had my husband go with my daughter and hold her hand throughout the procedure. I was unable to be in the room because I am pregnant and cannot be around laughing gas. My daughter was screaming bloody murder throughout the entire procedure calling for her mommy while I was forced to stand outside the door and could not even be there to comfort her. It was truly a traumatizing experience for both myself and my 3 yr old daughter. Again, the staff did not provide me with any details of aftercare that would be needed. I had to ask them if she can eat on her tooth right away and whether she would need some type of pain relievers. Nor was I provided any forms with aftercare instructions, which I would think would be standard procedure for any practice that has been in business for as long as Kidzdent has. I expressed my outrage to Nancy over the lack of communication and asked to speak to Dr. Brunsden as well. He was not in the office that week and I was told he would contact me the following week. My daughter's appointment was on a Monday, by Thursday of the following week, I had to reach out to the office to find out the status of my complaint. And I finally heard from Dr. Brunsden that day. But if my concerns were of any importance to them, I would not have had to reach out first. I came to Kidzdent to help allay my daughter's fears of going to the dentist for the first time, but the staff at Kidzdent has done nothing but compound those fears for her. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this office and am shocked and appalled by their unprofessionalism. read more

Actually so far in the old bridge area of nj I haven't experienced better. But this place is questionable. My child went in for an infected tooth. Ended up she also needed alot of work. Ok, tell me what we should do now... well was told they could take care of her extensive problems in one day by using sedation and strapping her to a board during the procedure. All this was to allay any future fears of a dentist. WHAT! How does strapping a child to a board keep her from being afraid of a dentist? I would be scared of that as an adult much less a child. Plus this sedation was to cost over $600 out of pocket. After the exam they were very adept at running all the numbers by you for all the work they would do. NOT ONCE were any other options or plans of care discussed. Sadly we've seen 2 other primary care dentists in this area and they just use this place for referrals because they don't want to handle the work. Kidzdent is like the dumping ground up here for the "ugly" cases nobody wants to deal with. I'm continuing the search out of this area hopefully find a decent, patient dentist soon who won't mask their lack of bedside manner and over reliance on sedation and physical restraint as concern for my child. read more
