He went to a popular kids' place but the stylists acted like they've never worked with kids before. They were disgruntled and had bad energy that clearly passed on to my son. This was a great experience for my son in his first solo haircut. He is very attached to my wife which makes it hard for us to get his cut. When I conducted a search, Lori came across Yelp! with excellent reviews. After looking over what her customers had to say about her, we gave her a call which also per her voicemail allowed for a text message. She was speedy with her communication and I was able to set up an appointment for the next day. The location is very close to where we reside. Her business is located in a co-op named Studio Salon. As you walk in the front door, her suite is located toward the right side. It is very well maintained and there is plenty of parking available to include a few handicapped stalls. Once inside, you can have a seat on the couch directly outside of her door. We arrived approximately ten minutes early and she had just finished up with another child. After she sanitized her suite, we were invited in. (There is also enough room to seat three.) She has the place decorated with an interactive race car chair. Directly in front of it is a TV playing cartoons. She also has an Xbox setup for the kids that would rather use that as entertainment. The place is very safe, cozy, kid themed and friendly. Once the haircut was started on my son, she was able to work with him despite his cries, (Lori has the stylists version of a Doctors bedside manner) and she did a really good job on his cut. She was very patient with him which can be a challenge to find someone who can handle. Now that we found our stylist, we look forward to taking our son back for his future cuts. Brought my 1 1/2 year old to Lori for his first haircut, she has the whole shebang set up to keep kids entertained, it's pretty awesome!! Toys, caroons, video games, a car the little ones can sit in, a fish tank; it's pretty great! My guy of course screamed the entire time, and squirmed but she was soo sweet and still able to give him a wonderful haircut!! I'm so glad we found Lori for my son's first haircut, and we will be repeat customers, for sure! We chose her first haircut package and it made the "occasion" that much more special.
