You know when you wake up one morning and you think, 'Today, I want to climb stuff'. Don't deny it;…read morewe've all thought this at some point. I went here with a friend and her son and we had a great time. They kit you out with the appropriate footwear (kids get a helmet - absolute favouritism right there) The instructor was very friendly and patient with us. He showed us the best routes up the wall and was great with my friend's son, who was quite young and understandably a little nervous. One thing about this place that might put people off - it doesn't use harnesses. The walls are about 20 feet at most, methinks, but obviously you only go up as far as you're comfortable with. The floors are padded too, so if you do fall on your arse as I did, you don't hurt anything except your ego. There were loads of people there who are obviously regular members, and some of the guys were really fit. Will definitely go back

I had no idea this place existed - what a find! If you are into climbing (and especially…read morebouldering) and you can get to Sutton then head down and check Craggy out. There are two large bouldering rooms with 100s of graded problems of all styles from easy jugs for beginners to stuff I can only look at and wonder how on earth anyone can climb! The centre is really well designed and has a great feel, the staff really know what they are doing and are happy to offer advice. There is even a bar next door! Also, check out the caving system. It must have been put in for children's parties but believe me it is a real laugh. I got lost a number of times and in some places it really takes some effort to get through. If this is the future of indoor climbing then I like it. Makes such a change to grubby old walls where you feel like an outsider if you 'don't fit in'. Now my local wall!

The car park has plenty of car park spaces and even if that does become full you have plenty of off street parking, and even if you don't travel by car there is a bus stop directly outside the centre. I've only visited this gym in the mornings but considering I'm there early in the morning the staff are friendly, welcoming and even can crack a joke! The gym prides itself on the security and cleanliness as there are security cameras everywhere and a cleaner who is always whizzing around with her trolley cleaning. I swear in one corridor I must of seen 6 cameras on the ceiling! The changing room is clean, has several long mirrors and small and large lockers with access to the showers which has three assisted showers as well as 8 cubical showers, and this is just the women's changing room. I can imagine the men's changing room is like for like. There is a large hall with is divided when classes are booked, mainly used for badminton , tennis, even trampolining. There's a exercise room where they normally hold aerobic, body pump, yoga, Pilates, Zumba classes. There are a lot more classes but you will need to check out the timetable on the website. Then there is the gym. It is smaller than you expect when you see the size of the building but you have a view of the car park and their exercise machinery is slowly modernising to the standard of their other centres. I've never had an issue fighting to get into machinery as the gym is never busy and the regulars that go there is a wide range of ages and all at different levels of fitness! So don't worry it's not your typically tanned and toned gym goers and it's also not a fashion parade, you can feel comfortable here working off a sweat and stretching in your Lycra!

Either one is a good starting point as both are true. The park covers 125 acres 50.59 hectares, yes I did look that fact up but it goes to show how big an area it covers. There are many dog walkers in the park and you can see why as loads of space for the dogs to run around and do what dogs do. Not sure how much picking up of dog mess happens but there are bins a plentiful for them to use. Within the park you will find wet land and a lake area which has seating around it so you can sit and while away some time, although no fishing is allowed... From the top of the hill/viewing mound you get a great view of the extent of the park and also some of the high rises in the distance which remind you that you are in London still. There is a children's play ground (that was undergoing some renovations) wild flower meadows, I understand there is a visitors centre but I think it is for school groups (I could be wrong). I'll finish with the surprising part which is that they have a pitch and putt area for those of you who like a bit of golf but you would need to check the opening hours by contacting the council. Enjoy

The prices are reasonable and they offer a loyalty card which after a certain number of stamps you receive freebies such as coffee which always helps. Prices for entry is quite steep as you have to pay for the child and adult but I found the annual or monthly membership well worth the money which you easily recoup after a couple of visits, each child membership you can have two adults assigned. The play areas include a separate area for under fives which within has a soft toddler area. The under fives play area is mainly wooden but it also includes two soft play areas, a visual/sensory soft play area and am interactive game section. Plenty to keep the little ones entertained. The main play area for 5 year olds and over is a massive climbing frame from floor to ceiling which includes a long slide and lots of different areas for hide and seek games! Surrounding the main frame is a climbing wall, bumper cars and a virtual game area. The cafe provides hot/cold food, hot/cold drinks, ice cream and snacks and the food is nice considering it's an afterthought. There's plenty of seating/space, toilets, lockers and free wi-fi. Would highly recommend a visit if you have children especially for colder months when parks are not always an option.
