Being a college student, and not having health insurance I was kind of screwed when my wisdom teeth…read morestarting to pop out. I know that eventually I will have to suck it up and get insurance but it will happen when it happens. Anyways, I was refereed to this place by my fiance's coworker. I can normally take pain, but I was in so much pain I had to come ASAP. On the first visit I went in as a walk in, I brought my proof of citizenship, and my last 2 pay stubs, the girl at the counter advised me that the best time to come in for a tooth exam would be as a walk on Monday-Thursday 7am-10 am or 1pm-3 and 8am-10 am on Fridays and 8am-12pm on Saturdays. Thanks to my school schedule I was not able to be a simple walk in so I insisted the lady that I needed to make an appointment. I literally had to wait a whole month to get my tooth X-rayed (it's fine, as long as its coming out) she told me that my X-ray exam was going to be $25.00 and to actually take the tooth out $22.00. (Amazing, right?) Right. As soon as I walked in I paid what I owed, filled out my medical history and waited for the nurse to call my name. I only waited for about 10 minutes before I was called, as soon as I walked in she x-rayed my teeth, I waited for about 5 minutes for the Doctor to see me. He was super nice, immideately made me feel comfortable. It sucks that I have to wait a whole month and 5 days until my teeth get pulled but I am feeling confident that everything is going to go just well. Over all, yes, i do mostdefinitely recommend this place.

Love, love, love this non-profit! As a social worker, my most favorite thing here are the…read morelunch-n-learns. They always have fantastic presenters, open it up for caregivers as well as professionals, and are very warm and welcoming. I've been going to these every month for nearly a year now and always look forward to them. The organization is a must for anyone affected by Alzheimer's or dementia in general. They have an adult day care (Charlie's Place) with a great reputation, support groups, a plethora of resources for caregivers and professionals, and such knowledgable staff. I honestly wish I had time to spend a day here or at least go on a tour, so perhaps I'll ask about that next time I go. I had the pleasure of attending the lunch-n-learn this month that was presented by the nurse who started the first Alzheimer's support groups in Baton Rouge years ago, and this was eye opening for me. She was so heartfelt in her presentation and truly portrayed the importance of education and support with any life limiting, chronic illness. I can't say it enough how much I love this organization...hence the Yelp review to spread the word for them! Go and check them out, and spread the word please!
