Staff: Hard to rate since this is a giant building with a bunch of different stores, arcade, VR experience, shoe store, toy store, etc. Overall: We shopped at Half Time souvenirs and was very happy. This is a great spot that you must check out. Pro Tip: Arcade only takes cash so don't depend on a credit card. Sadly we just came over from the US so did not have any Canadian currency so couldn't play any games.

Located on popular Granville Island, my nephews and nieces loved this market. It's full of kid stores from toys to candy and has a play area too! It can get crowded but good at entertaining kids for awhile.

The Granville Island Kids Market is a must-visit destination for anyone with kids, tourist or local alike. It's basically a mini-mall dedicated to products and entertainment options for children of all ages, from newborn to teenager. There are arcade games, play places, a small food court, clothing stores, a hair salon, and enough stores selling toys and games to be almost overwhelming. Pretty fantastic place to take your kids for a fun outing, knock out some child-related errands (clothes shopping, haircut, etc), throw a birthday party, and keep your rugrats entertained while doing so. Fun for all ages, not just the littles!

This is a kids paradise, but my husband and I were not impressed. This is a good place for your kid to go around and buy a toy from an independent toy store. Besides this, it is basically a grown-up nightmare. The whole place just felt old and gross.

While not necessarily the best place to TAKE kids, if you HAVE kids, this place has two floors of stores with kids stuff. So if you want to buy something cool for a kid, this is your place. If you bring that kid here, be prepared to drop a ton of money...because they will want everything from every store. For instance, we went upstairs to use the bathroom and ended up buying a $65 sandal for my daughter which she will probably outgrow by the end of summer. I would never do that in real life, but vacation makes you do strange things that you regret when the credit card bill comes later. What other kinds of stuff can you buy here? Overpriced Magic stuff, books, stuffed animals, toys, shoes, kites, stamps, clothes, and more. You could get all your Christmas shopping done here in one trip! There's also a mini play area (think mini Chuck E Cheese) and a small arcade for the kids, as well as an outdoor lake with ducks. LOCATED: Granville Island near the entrance (the Public Market is toward the back). PARKING: 3hr free (once per day). They monitor this closely so move your car after 3hrs into a paid space if you need more time. I didn't think we would need more time but we had lunch at Vancouver Fish House (which took foreverrrr), and also did the Public Market at Granville and the AquaBus tour of False Creek while we were down there.

Sightseeing at the Marian's noticed that there was a kids market, so obviously I had to go check it out. OMG a preschool teachers (that's me) heaven. I wanted to buy everything in sight. They had books, toys, games, puppets, and so much more. I had to take a deep breath and focus. Once I regained my composure I choose a kaleidoscope to purchase. Kids heaven parents biggest fear.

Can be very dangerous. This is a location in which there are multiple stores for kids housed in one building. There is a magic shop complete with gags, various independant toy retailers, an arcade where you can win tickets for a little prize, an "adventure land" which is a play area for kids, a food court for kids, rides, etc. $8 to get into the Adventure Land. Not cheap and is only a small play area. Not worth it IMHO. Much better than Toys r Us, and a lot more civilized.

Located close to the Granville Island Public Market, the Kids' Market has shops with overpriced toys, clothes, and other cute things to make a child smile. We went into a few of the shops and in one store, I saw there had these small Peanuts figures for $6, cute! There were Lego sets and games too. My favourite was the Dino ride that a little one can sit in and enjoy a ride if you put coins into it. When we walked through the market, we found a path leading us along the seawall through False Creek. Fun for kids if you are visiting the Public Market, stop in and check it out.

You can never grow old or out of this place, take your pic. Beyond the usual play area, love the rental rooms for semi-private parties for kids (obviously, well maybe grown ups too lol), at $300 for 2 hours. Well worth it for those rainy days. Quite spacious, easily 30 rascals sitting and eating at a long communal table.

This is a lot of fun. Kids will love it. Non-kids will feel like kids again. Plan on spending about 1.5-2 hrs.

You MUST validate your parking at Sungiven Foods for 2-hour free parking, all other stores only validate for 1.5 hours - and I learned this the hard way. It was my first time driving to City Square, and I saw the sign in the parkade that read "Enjoy 2 hours free parking with purchase". I went to Dollarama first, and had my ticket validated there. I shopped around, and Sungiven Foods was one of my last stops before returning to my car. As I was driving out of the parkade, I was surprised that there was an overdue balance of $4.25 at the gate, even though I was in City Square for less than 2 hours (I had a timer on my phone). I called parking assistance and they sent Chandani to deal with the issue. She did not want to listen to my situation and was very rude and unhelpful. She kept insisting I pay for the ticket or go back upstairs to revalidate, and then walked away. I understand she may not have any authority to authorize anything or override the ticket, but she did not bother to listen or try to get help. I checked my timer, and saw that I was cutting it very close to 2 hours, so if I had re-parked my car and went back upstairs to revalidate, I would definitely go over the 2-hour limit. I paid the ticket and checked the website when I got home, and I understand that the City Square regulations states: -90 minutes FREE parking with a minimum $5.00 purchase from City Square retailers. -One retailer stamp per parking ticket allowed. Please bring your parking ticket along with you to the retailer for validation. I am upset because there was no indication (either on the website on signage posted in the mall or parkade) that the retailer stamp HAD to be from Sungiven Foods specifically (and be validated there first) in order to qualify for 2-hour free parking (instead of 90 min). Chandani also gave me the wrong information, and I would not have been able to re-validate at Sungiven foods anyways if I went back upstairs, as only one retailer stamp per parking ticket is allowed (as per the website). I did email the admin at City Square as well with my concerns over the signage, and asked for a possible refund. Chasity from Reception & Administration directed me to Precise Parklink in regards to the ticket refund. I didn't bother contacting Precise Parklink because on paper, I did exceed the 1.5 hour parking limit, but the reason for this is because of the misleading and unclear signage in my opinion.

Not only did she remember me (i've bumped into her a few times at the shop, but not more then a handful) but she was still the incredibly energetic, totally genuine ball of sunshine that made me RUN home to pen that first review back in January. And so, as a tip of the hat to my top service ninja of the year, I thought it be best to share some new findings at Two of Hearts: 1. Karen has a jewellery line that she sells at the shop! Go buy it and support local crafters and an all around rad person! ...I don't remember the name, because I took a business card and had her write down the specifics on a few pieces. Such organization obviously means I will lose said card within 24 hours. I do however have a note that says: "Sounds like the muppets song Mahna Mahna." Because i'm an adult. So I will take that to the Twitterverse for further investigation. Stay tuned. 2. Hats!! If you are looking for the most fabulous fall hat, go check out the Andre felt hats from Montreal. I debated over mine last January and it is singlehandedly my second favourite purchase of the year (it's tough to compete with the Fiat...) They are an excellent price (under $100), made in Canada and just classic, beautiful pieces. But if you buy the red one in the window before, I will get mad at you. Bonus points: you can't even find this line online for a better price. Tip of the hat 2ofH. 3. Bags! I have beat the s%&t out of my bag over the year - every day, dual laptop wielding and it has survived. Definitely looking a bit worse for wear, but it's held up far better then I expected, considering the price point is so reasonable. Right now, they have super awesome colours like hot pink mailbags & bright red clutches. It's a rainbow money suck! 4. Still with the awesome people. Karen isn't an anomaly here. Honest to gosh, i've had nothing but the most fabulous service every time i've gone in. Everyone who works here is all sugar & spice. ...I still have yet to find any actual clothing that fits me properly here... but I don't care.
