I went to another dentist and they said my toddler did not need to get put to sleep and the "cavities" were not deep and could be flossed and brushed away. My son, did get fillings for these cavities and they did not even injecting any numbing agents- so did he really have any serious cavities? I'm not convinced. This was before my daughter's second opinion appt so I was still thinking this dental office was fine. The staff is also rude, and look at you crazy if you don't want your kids to have fluoride. From the time we first started going there as babies they immediately told us one child needed a lip tie cut, and the other needed a tongue tie cut and referred us to a speech therapist. Neither child had any speech defects or problems talking where that would ever be necessary. We chose to not do either and they are just fine. Then every appointment after we were told they would have multiple cavities that needed the expensive sealer put on them, then this last time we were told that our 6 yr old needed a crown! It seemed that every time we went back it was more expensive for reasons that didn't really seem to add up. We just moved out of state and saw a new dentist and after doing x-rays he confirmed no crown would ever be needed, and there were only a few cavities that were minor unlike what they had told us at Olympia pediatric dentistry. We had another friend with a child that went there who was told the exact same thing and proceeded to do the crown, causing the child, extensive anxiety and trauma. They ended up going to another dentist and again was told that was not necessary and never needed to be done. It feels like this place is constantly trying to get you for more money when the work isn't even necessary. Just be aware!

My son woke up with a very slight cough but had no other symptoms when we arrived. During the cleaning, his cough worsened, and instead of being treated with patience and understanding, I felt we were spoken to in a rude and disrespectful manner throughout the visit. The dentist appeared visibly uncomfortable around my son despite already wearing proper protective equipment, which made the situation more stressful and uncomfortable for him. At one point, I also felt there was a lack of care while using sharp dental instruments near his face, which was very concerning as a parent. What upset me most was the way my child was physically handled. Because my son was struggling to open his mouth as wide as requested, the dentist became forceful -- grabbing his face and jaw in a way I found inappropriate and overly aggressive for a pediatric dentist. Children need patience, compassion, reassurance, and gentleness during dental visits, especially when they are uncomfortable or nervous. At one point, I even requested to leave mid-appointment because the situation had become so uncomfortable. I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and bedside manner. I have never experienced anything like this at a pediatric dental office before, and I will be transferring my son's care elsewhere. Parents should feel confident that their children will be treated gently and respectfully, and unfortunately that was not our experience.

Teeth are a high priority and I expect a dental office to appreciate patients with this mindset and not act nonchalant about canceling a patients appointment. This indicates an office management issue that shouldn't be put upon the patient.
