My son Harvey has been with Little Explorer by Yasmin for almost a year since he was 3yo. I had to…read moreswitch my son from a montessori daycare to Little Explorer after 3 months because I noticed my son did not fit well with Montessori program. He is someone who is very active and loves playing outdoors. I researched the difference between Reggio Emilia vs Montessori, and I feel that my son will fit better with Reggio Emilia philosophy. I have toured many schools before (kindercare, le petit academy, ABS french preschool, Strafford school and many others montessori schools...) in Hayward, Castro valley, San Leandro, Oakland, Fremont and Dublin/Pleasanton. Then i found Little explorer and Yasmin daycare is exactly what I need. Her house has a very big backyard that has full set up of sensory areas : - Sand pit, Mud kitchen, little fridge, cooking tools; - Water area- rainbow splash water play, tubes, cups, bowls. -Slides/Bikes/play house/paint area; -Outdoor tables/chairs, -Sink for hand wash. As for inside of the house, Yasmin sets up based on reggio emilia philosophy and her theme change all the time. My son has the best time at Yasmin place. On Fridays, Yasmin does cooking with the kids (fresh banana bread, milk bread, cupcakes, muffins, pizza..). On the kids birthday, Yasmin also celebrated each kid bday and have them play in bouncy house and foam bubbles party. My son really loves going there, he learns through play (STEM, science, water, sensory) and he can enjoy so much freedom and independence. Kids 18mon-5yo should be enjoy themselves and learn through play interaction. I sincerely appreciated Yasmin for her amazing care and an excellent Reggio Emilia teacher. I also sent my older daughter when she is off school and summer to Yasmin as well. Both of my kids love Little explorer. Highly recommended Little Explorer for future toddlers and parents!

I was so relieved to find Little Explorers, and I couldn't be happier! Although this is a new preschool, Yasmin (the owner) has many years of experience as a early childhood educator and it shows. She has an incredible amount of patience and is very nurturing to every child in her care. I also LOVE her curriculum because it's nature and play-based which is so important because a lot of child development research shows that little kids learn best through play. She has a wonderful indoor AND outdoor play area that is full of toys and activities that promote creativity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and problem-solving skills. My son is always excited to explore all the different play areas and many times he'll keep on playing even after I've arrived! The other thing that I love is how much literacy is an important part of the Little Explorers curriculum. My son loves books and reading, so I was thrilled to find a program that includes a lot of story time and access to a wide variety of books. Because her home-based preschool is located in the Hayward Hills, the kids get to see wild turkeys, deer, a variety of birds, and other wildlife on a daily basis! I also love that it's located on a cul-de-sac so it's a very safe and quiet area. And if that weren't enough, Yasmin updates me on my son's meals, nap times and diaper changes on a daily basis using an app called BrightWheel. I'm honestly so grateful that I found Little Explorers! Thank you Teacher Yasmin!

The teachers and staff have been absolutely amazing and played such an important role in helping my daughter reach academic milestones at such an early age. As a parent, finding a school where your child is learning, growing, and genuinely cared for is priceless. Upon meeting Kristina and touring the school, I felt better, but still unsure. The place itself is very clean and well kept. Our son took to Kristina quickly, and after a day or two of seeing the great care they give all the kids there, I was able to be comfortable leaving him there. Our son was there from around 6 months, all the way up to Pre-K. I can't say enough of how great Kristina's is. Our son learned so much; Kristina's has a great curriculum. More importantly, our son adores Kristina. He still asks about her and the school to this day, even though he hasn't been attending since we moved out of the area and started attending Pre-K for the last 6 months. My wife and I both believe that Kristina's was a Godsend. Leaving our son there was 1 less thing that we didn't have to worry about. If I could give more than the 5 stars, I would.

Kristina and Mrs. Sheila are the most loving, caring caregivers you will find. They don't just "watch" your kids but they create a fun learning environment and prepare your child for Kingergarden. My son can write his name, count to 20, knows his colors and shapes. They make it so fun for the kids and have different themes every week. A couple weeks ago they had a camping experience!! She set a tent up in the backyard and they made smores, built a pretend fire, it was magical! This is just one of many, many things they do for the kids. I love that she posts pictures so you can see what your child has been up to. Kristina and Mrs. Sheila truly love the kids as their own and make you feel like you are family. We are so sad Luke is headed to Kindergarden and his time there is over, but I'm so thankful how they helped prepare him. I know he is ready because of how much time and effort they put into his education. I can't say enough wonderful things about Kristina's Preschool.

Fast forward she is 6 and all 3 teachers she's had have complimented how prepared she was- all thanks to Nelva and Dora. Now she is at a private school where part of the admissions process was to test in and she received a scholarship to #2 ranked school in the state. Shortly after he started we noticed his manners improved (please and thank you), and in the Covid world they did a great job inspiring him to wash his hands properly. He's leaving TK knowing his ABCs, basic addition and subtraction, counting to 100, some sight words, and more. The kids do a wide variety of hands-on activities in TK, including crafts, science experiments, and even cooking. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in the tuition, which was a huge help. My kid is a really picky eater and they encouraged him to try everything, but if he didn't like it they would give him something else to eat (cereal, fruit, etc...) If you're enrolled full day the drop-off/pick-up window is very flexible for working parents - 6:30am-6:00pm. I typically didn't pick my son up until 5:45pm because he refused to leave if I came earlier. He was always having too much fun! I want to add that I just adore the kindergarten teacher, Miss Norita, and I am sad he won't be attending kindergarten at Elmhurst. We're leaving because my son was admitted to the Mandarin DLI program in Hayward and you have to start that in kindergarten. We plan to enroll our second child here once he is old enough.

Excellent and affordable daycare/preschool!…read more My daughter attended this center when it was also known as the Eden Youth and Family Center Daycare. She started at one year old and stayed until she went to kindergarten. What stood out was the multicultural and caring staff. The staff treated us and my daughter like family. Four years later, my son was born and he started attending what is now the Eden Early Childhood Development Center since he was 4 months old. He will be three next month. This preschool/daycare is a gem in the middle of what may not necessarily be the best neighborhood. The staff are all new, caring and highly experienced. The improvements can be seen in the physical space. The walls are filled with beautiful artwork created by the children. Pictures of the kids and staff are on the outside showing the amazing guests that come in (music teachers, police) as well as the special projects (cooking, gardening). My son talks so much and so fast and always has a smile on his face when I pick him up. The teachers are inspired by and using the Reggio Emilia Approach. For the price we pay, we are happy that this is the philosophy of the center. The other families are friendly and their children are happy, too. It is not located in the most plush surrounding area and neighborhood, but the community organizations in the neighborhood do support each other as far as I know and the staff keep everyone safe and sound. Definitely check this place out if you are looking for quality, affordable daycare with caring, knowledgeable, multicultural staff. Oh yeah, when your child includes the daycare teachers' names singing the "good night" song, that's got to be a good sign. :)
