Made a booking on a Thursday at 6pm. Was surprised how quickly the place filled up. Good sauce for the seafood boil. Not use to the oysters being so small but they were really sweet. All our bill ended up being about $300AUD

The Mixed Bag at $139 plus extras added.

The general rule of thumb is that when you find an awesome fish and chip shop, you stick to it. I…read morecan tell you that my attachment to my local fish and chippery, Fish's in Teneriffe, might be a little unhealthy. And not just in the beer-battered kind of a way. It has gotten to a point where I turn my nose up and any other option for the combination of potatoes and barramundi. Now that's good fish and chips! Although I usually indulge in the takeaway variety, Fish's is also a restaurant and has a relaxed, family atmosphere. Along with the usual fish and chips, there are burgers, seafood platters, meals, mussels, oysters, prawns and calamari also on offer. If it comes from the ocean, chances are Fish's have it! And it's as fresh as fresh can be. If you are looking for somewhere to get excellent fresh prawns for Christmas or a BBQ, theirs come highly recommended by me! As does the cajun fish. I veered away from crumbed fish a little while ago and lashed out with the cajun (a big deal considering I'm a creature of habit) and it is awesome! For reasonable prices, Fish's offer huge portions of (in my opinion) the best fish and chips in Brisbane. The wait is never long and the food is fresh and delicious. Get to Teneriffe for a taste!

When we walked up to the greeter she asked, "what do you want." I looked around to see if she was talking to someone else. There was no one else. And then I thought maybe she confused me for someone she knew. That was not the case either. I said, "This is a restaurant, isn't it?" And then my husband tried to defuse the tension by making a joke about turtles eating jellyfish. It was all just awkward and weird, but she was just the greeter, and we sat and ordered drinks and a pre-dinner appetizer. The waiter was not a particularly happy person either, so after the app, we paid our bill and went to another restaurant for dinner. Every place can have a bad day, and when staff is fighting with each other they can take it out on everyone else, but OMG, the service we received here was awful. P.S. That appetizer was good.

Got the scallops as a starter and they are very small - it's mostly a giant empty plate with sauce decoration. The barramundi was okay but there is better barramundi for much less. The fries were very ordinary. The kale salad was the best thing but for how much we paid for this meal, it's not good that the salad was the highlight.

Gambaro's looks fancy from the website... but when we went there, it looked more like a glorified fish and chip shop. The array of old style cola drinks was really yummy and so was the seafood though, everything was fresh. We ordered the seafood hot and cold platter for 2 ($91 dollars) and what we got was more of a seafood platter for 2 that looked like it was worth the $20. So my family and I weren't too sure if it was worth going back there for the seafood platter if not for these vouchers we printed out via the social living website. The prices are very up there for what you see, but the fair is good... I guess that's what you want! Fresh fish, calamari and prawns. It's a very popular joint, I saw most of the tables fill up, and I asked the owner if it was a busy day, and she did point out to me that they were also all voucher people. Many of the regulars tend to get the bucket of prawns to share... but on a hot summers day... not really that great to sit at such a fancy shopping arena at a daggy looking seafood takeaway. Maybe in winter?

Located in the Central Station. Easy access by train or bus. Price: dinner $69-$79, breakfast $59, not sure about lunch. The price doesn't include drinks. But the drink prices are normal and affordable. Food: huge variety!!! Believe me! My partner and I have tried other buffet package in other restaurants and hotels around Brisbane and Gold Coast. This has been our most favourite. The price worth what you get! I've posted many pictures of the restaurants and some of the food. Check them out! Huge variety in starters, main food, SEAFOOD, and desserts. I cannot mention each of the food because it's too many. Hehe Service: the best! The waitress was very friendly with nice genuine smile. She kept our table always clean every time and kept on refilling water without us asking for more. She always serve things for me first and then my partner. That is the correct manner of serving meal/drinks in restaurants, which is ladies first. My partner booked a table for this dinner and requested a special seating because it's for our anniversary dinner. And when we arrived, we were placed in perfect spot in the corner, with great view, and feeling more private. It was the first great impression of the night. They did not forget our request. At the end of the night when we were enjoying our desserts, a waitress came with a complementary sweets plate from the chef, with candle and plate was written 'happy anniversary'. That was really nice. (Check out the picture). This kind of amazing service will the one make us to keep coming back to this place. I'll update this review or write another review if I try their breakfast buffet next time. Hopefully it's as good as the dinner :)

The choices are really quite meager, as we found a few places scattered around, but none that seemed to be particularly popular. Since we decided yum cha was what we wanted, we decided that we wouldn't set our expectations very high, and just go for the best one we could find [with best being most convenient and decent]. Our search landed us in the center of Chinatown in the Valley, at King of Kings Seafood, a place pretty much the epitome of Chinese restaurants - with the live fish and the big round tables. When we got there at about 1pm, it was actually rather packed. There were groups of families - both Asian and non [I mention this because it may just as well be a gauge to how authentic a restaurant is], and the place remained busy even as we were leaving since the place serves dim sum till late. Also, because there were constantly diners coming in and out, some of the yum cha that was being reeled around was pretty fresh! The food was as expected - decent - but not great. Everything was very standard, and the cha siu pastry was not too bad, but I don't recommend the taro cake (?-), which was way too dry and didn't taste much like taro. The duck that we had was also a bit dry, which disappointed me, since duck is a very forgiving meat. Overall, it was not a bad experience, and the waitresses were very friendly, but it was a bit pricey. We got quite a bit of food and were filled to the brim, but it was a bit over $20 for each of us - and I don't know if I can get used to restaurants here charging for tea per person.
