Put in order, short wait and our whole group got there food in few minutes. Efficient and fast. If there is one downside it is "one bill per table" - no split bills. I used to live in ridiculously easy walking distance from The Fishery and would often pass it each day on my way home from work or to and from the gym. It was so easy to pop in, pick up a few fillets of fish for dinner that evening and have a moderately smug grin on your face knowing you had bought local and two, purchased fresh fish that was caught perhaps days ago, if that. Yes it might be "yuppie" of me, but I love the idea of going to a butcher for your meat, a baker for your bread and baked goods and a dedicated fish monger for your seafood. What I love more about The Fishery is the guys behind the counter are qualified chefs. Not only can they advise on the best fillets of fish, prawns or what oyster to get, but they can give you plenty of easy to recreate at home tips on how to prepare your newly purchased seafood. It's a winning combination! Plus, they'll often have a daily lunch special advertised out the front and I believe often via their Facebook or Twitter profiles. For under $10 you'll be able to try things like your standard fish and chips, a prawn po boy or whatever other concoction takes their fancy on that particular day.

They have some of the best quality seafood I have found in Brisbane. Here, you will find big juicy Moreton Bay Bugs, succulent Tiger Prawns, Pacific Oysters and fresh Tasmanian Salmon most of which are sourced from Australian waters (only 10% of their produce comes from overseas). If you have a Christmas party to cater for or a backyard BBQ I would suggest ordering your seafood from Samie's Girl. Their prices are very competitive and if it swims then they probably sell it! Make sure you get in early though - they are very busy on weekends, which is a reflection of the quality of the produce they sell.
