Staff is almost never at the desk or on the floor and several times they have been sleeping in the office- so you wait or you go workout. Occasionally they spring from the office and check your credentials like you stole something. This could be remedied with a card or better way to scan in. Terrible interaction with the staff today. Will find a new part time gym going forward. I travel weekly for work- been to more than 30 different Crunch Fitness locations this year and never had this problem.

One gripe I have is that there is a crowd meter on the Planet Fitness app that is supposed to indicate how crowded the gym is. For this location, I have never seen the meter go above a 3/10, even when the gym is packed. It's not an accurate indicator of what you're walking into, which can be frustrating. Why have the meter go all the way to 10 if it never goes above 3? Also, there is often equipment that is out of order, and it can take days or weeks to get fixed. That can be annoying, especially when there is only one of the equipment type. Overall, for the baseline membership it is not a bad space to work out. If I were going to the gym more regularly though, I might consider other options.

And when I attended classes recently I appreciated the welcoming energy of staff and pretty clean environment. But now, in 2026, I see there is room for improvement to maintain a high quality work experience and environment. First, a proper balance between music and instructor voice must be struck so that the participants can hear the instructor clearly (and not muffled) while engaging in an immersive sound experience. I find it concerning that my watch informs me that being in the room for more than 30 minutes can greatly increase risk of hearing loss. I think the soundscape can be restructured to be surrounding without overwhelming. Furthermore, I noticed a significant change in post-class atmosphere. Staff are friendly, but the bathrooms have significantly less hygiene products and this Solidcore doesn't have any showers. Given that this one of the most expensive $ to class ratio in the Baltimore area, I think participants would appreciate their class price or membership price utilized for amenities like a shower or more hygiene products in the bathrooms. I hope to attend a solidcore class soon again with hope of an improved immersive experience and high quality class.

There are various fitness programs available, tailored for your personal comfort and training goals. Staff members are constantly introducing new and innovative programs to meet the needs of clients. One of my favorite sessions is the opportunity to box. Not only am I improving my boxing technique, I am getting an awesome cardio and strength training workout at the same time. The owners are constantly putting in overtime to make sure the space meets and exceeds the needs of their members. Almost every time I go to class they've ordered something new for us to play with, or organized an area of the gym that needed some extra love. For example, the old office was recently demolished to make room for additional lifting platforms so that the growing Strength class would have more room to spread out. SBCF is fully involved in the community, whether they're hosting a weightlifting meet or firing up the grill and breaking out the beer pong during a tailgate party. They have a super informative (and amusing) blog, and they also keep their Facebook and Twitter pages updated regularly with upcoming events, closures, and funny pictures and videos (I like that kind of stuff). The positive results I've seen in myself, both physically and mentally, make all the hard work completely worth it. I've worked out on my own in the past and have never had such amazing results. I've only been doing Crossfit for three months, but my friends are constantly commenting on how fit I look. They'll even make me flex my arms now and again. Oh, and ladies? If you've ever wanted to lift weights without feeling intimidated, this is absolutely the place to do it. No, you won't get bulky, but be warned: you may get into the best shape of your life.
