I purchased my vehicle from this dealership and have consistently followed all the maintenance recommended by the company ever since. Over time, there have been multiple issues, but I chose to overlook them with the mindset that mistakes can happen and that sometimes it's better to let things go. However, this time, I can no longer stay silent. Issue 1: When I purchased the car, I was told that the dealership would store my winter tires at no extra charge. Normally, there is a storage fee for tire storage, but the salesperson offered to keep them at the dealership without cost as part of the deal. However, this agreement was never properly recorded in the system, and for the first three seasonal tire changes, I had to repeatedly explain the situation to the service department. I had no other proof, except for a text message from the sales manager at the time, which I had to show like I was begging for confirmation. Fortunately, after a few visits, the service team finally noted this in their records and started handling it without further issue. Issue 2: In the spring, I brought the car in to switch from winter to all-season tires. After picking up the vehicle and arriving home, I noticed that one of the wheel nuts was missing. Thankfully, the dealership was nearby, and I returned immediately to have it installed. But no one apologized. It was treated as if it were a normal, everyday occurrence. Issue 3: Again in spring, I brought the car in for another seasonal tire change. This time, they installed tires from a different trim level. At this point, I began to question whether this was just carelessness or something more intentional. Once again, no apology was given--just the same attitude, as if this sort of mix-up is perfectly natural and acceptable. Issue 4: Interestingly, all the issues I've faced have been tire-related. This final incident happened just a week after the most extensive and expensive scheduled maintenance, including a tire change. I had been told after that service that everything was in perfect condition. But only a week later, I began hearing strange noises from the front passenger-side wheel while driving. At first, I assumed it was a rock stuck in the tire. But the sound persisted and became more disturbing, so I stopped the car and checked. I found a bolt embedded in the tire. Let me be clear: I do not believe the dealership was responsible for the bolt being in the tire. These things happen on the road, and I fully understand that. Once again, I went to the same dealership--Kia Richmond, where I've always taken my car for service. Two hours later, I received a phone call informing me that the tire had been fixed. However, they said they had also checked the wheel alignment and it was off, asking if I wanted it corrected. I agreed, even though I was surprised because just a week earlier, everything had supposedly been fine. When I went to pick up the car, I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. How could a vehicle that had passed such comprehensive service just a week ago suddenly have alignment issues? I asked why this wasn't detected during the major service. After checking their records, they told me that they hadn't done an alignment check at that time. Why not? First, they said it was optional because it's a complimentary check. Later, they changed their explanation and said the request must have been missed when passing instructions to the technician. That's when I completely lost my trust in this dealership. I no longer know whether their explanations are genuine or just made up on the spot to move past the issue and charge me anyway. As I said earlier, I have always followed the full maintenance schedule recommended by the manufacturer. Many people around me just change the engine oil regularly and leave it at that. But I believed that sticking to the recommended maintenance and building a long-term relationship with one dealership would be better for both my car and for building mutual trust. Now, I can say with certainty: I will never go back to this dealership again. Some may say that other dealerships are no better. Maybe so. But at this point, continuing to spend money while being repeatedly disappointed is more wasteful than giving a new dealership a chance. All these frustrations have also made me question the quality and credibility of all the previous services done at this dealership. Perhaps to someone else, this might be the best dealership they've ever dealt with. But to me, it has become the worst. I'm even seriously considering never buying a Kia again. read more

DO NOT lease vehicles from them. Terrible Service & Attitude! Leasing a new Niro 2025 wth this dealer since July 2025 but this new vehicle has been broken down TWICE. Major part changed, but and now still being grounded for ALMOST 2 MONTHS since the vehicle is NOT DRIVABLE!!! We requested a new vehicle after the incidents happened twice. But the new GM (Valentin Neag) just advised us to contact Kia Canada for solutions and he said he will do whatever Kia Canada ask him to do. But Kia Canada stated that They have nothing to do with the leasing but only warranty! They seldom get us a call to update. It is me, the client, to keep giving them calls to get status of our car. Yesterday, called them again. I explained to the first lay that our car being grounded for almost 2 months and the manager promised to prioritize our car. She just said "You are not the only car being grounded here!" then she passed to phone to the Service Advisor Pandora Lam. During the phone conversation with Pandora, she kept talking but NEVER listen to me and let me speak. When I asked her "Can you let me talk" She replied "Now?" I also mentioned her coworker promised me the Manager would call me but he didn't. She said that is NOT their responsibility! First off, I know that the manager, Val, will comment on this note, as that is his style. If you are reading this, please do not be swayed by his words, as this entire story is 100% true, accurate and without prejudice. I went to Go Kia one morning as my wife wanted a Kia Soul and I recently found out that they were no longer being made and Go Kia Richmond had one that was priced properly, in good shape and we had a trade in for it. I got there as it opened and Val, the manager, spent 30 minutes with me and we came to a deal. He was very nice, to the point and it was a pleasurable transaction. This will be the only positive in this writing. I asked if I could hold it, with a $1,000 deposit, until my wife could test drive it later. He said no, as he did not want it to be unavailable for others. Ce la vie. I went home, told my wife that I think I found what she was looking for and she suggested she test drive it (she has always done so, and always bought the car afterwards). I called, this being 90 minutes, to let Val know we were on our way, but I was informed he was not there and that a person would help us. We arrived at 1120. We left at 345. What happened was such a horrible time at the dealership over a car we wanted, with an agreed upon price and them knowing we were coming. The issues are long so I will use point form: MJ - horrible salesperson; first addressed me three times by my last name only. I corrected him three times. My first name is Bill, so that should not be hard. MJ then kept only talking to me when I informed him more that once that this car will be owned and driven by my wife, so I am only there to facilitate the money part. I asked MJ for amount of draft, which is all they would take, and it took him 15 minutes to confirm what Val had already told me. Then we were told that we had to wait for the finance guy, which would be 90 minutes. No offer of us leaving or food or anything. Detention. During this 90 minutes MJ was joking with others, walking around, and generally treating us as if we were invisible. Finance guy, William, quite nice, was only there to sell us the extras we told MJ we did not take. Then William takes us to insurance, who was lovely. Back to William, who just hands us a key. Then, we are told by insurance that we could not cancel old car insurance until either William or Kate told us the car transfer of ownership was done; they would call us. So, I ask is Kate in Finance. "Yes, she is." So, Kate could have saved us 90 minutes? No answer... It is now five days later. The call to cancel insurance was promised in 24-48 hours later. The old car is up for sale on their website, so they have transferred it to them already. Still no call. So, let me sum this up. MJ is horrible. I am in sales. I am fortunate to be quite successful, and MJ is everything wrong with sales and why people hate buying cars. He wasted 2-3 hours of our time that we will never get back. When I met with Val, I asked, since we have a deal, this should be easy. Yes, just show up and bring the draft. It was not easy. MJ is bad. He could have referred us to Kate. He did not. Kate or William could have called. They did not. Maybe the worst service at any place, not just a car dealership, I have seen in decades. Val, please do not reply. The customer service is horrible! DO NOT go to this location as they are rude, racist and misogynistic! My daughter and I went into this location after being in the Richmond Auto mall looking for a small suv for her business. We viewed an SUV at the Richmond KIA that had all the safety features my 32year old daughter was looking for and the sales lady was very sweet but did not understand English very well. A Male sales rep rudely brushed her aside in order to help us. I knew what he was doing (hearing we wanted to purchase) so I tried to divert back to the young lady, who greeted us when we walked in and made every attempt to help and communicate but this man, took over. We sat down to run some numbers and we mentioned we wanted to lease through my daughters very successful business. He walked off to talk with someone, came back and asked if the beat up, faded old sedan outside the window was ours? I responded "no, I drive the 2023 Lexus truck over there ?". He literally barked and said "NO LEASING, ONLY cash, or finance". I was shocked! My 32year old daughter, picking up on the peculiar response said "So I can go over to Acura right now and lease an RDX for less? We are done here" and walked off. I will add that I am black, I own 2 businesses, financially stable and felt completely judged without them knowing anything about us. We ended up going to VW on Main Street and leased the new TAO on the spot! I later called KIA in Burnaby and spoke to the manager and asked if KIA does not offer leasing and he seemed confused and kindly responded "yes, we do leasing'? I told him the story (not mentioning my race until the end) and he was mortified. He asked us to go see him and he will get us sorted but I let him know we already purchased the VW but thanked him as he redeemed the reputation of the company but after that experience, I would never feel comfortable, buying a KIA. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My 2020 Soul's engine seized (btw this is a huge problem with Kia) and had to have my car towed to have it looked at. I thought that with their supposed great warranty and service they would help me out and look at the car within a few days, but sadly I was wrong. I have owned 2 Kia's and this will be my last. I have been calling and showing up in person over the past week and a half and still have no answers; basically fed lies to get me out of there each time. They keep telling me that I'm "next in line" for service to look at it and determine warranty coverage however nothing has been done. Do not waste your money on a Kia and avoid this dealership like the plague; once Kia has your money they will do less than nothing to help their customers. I went with my friend who 70 year old. Rishi walked us all the way to back to lot to show the car. We looked at the car and requested for the test Drive. He asked us again to walk back to front of the store,because car needs a license plate before going for the test drive. Anyhow, came back from test drive and liked the car and asked him what best he can do best for the price. He wrote the price on piece of sheet ( Dealership called Four Square sheet). I agreed on the price and he asked to sign and Initial on Four square sheet. He asked, when would you like to take car? I said Right now. We asked him any insurance agent in house or around. asked mode of payment. He said debit and or any credit card will work. Since, the car price was under 10k , i opt to pay with my credit card. He asked us to wait and he is getting all the papers ready. we waited almost 10 min at his desk. He came back and told us that Sorry " Car is already Sold at the Auction". I asked what are you talking about? how come it got sold at auction? you never mentioned about auction thing. He was loud with us and asked to leave the dealership as can't do anything since car is sold at auctions. When I asked for the Four square sheet where I signed , I need those papers and he refused to give my copy and said its already shredded and point 30 ft away and asked go and check there. Our KIA SOUL EV had some issues with charging and Kia Richmond was amazing while we worked through the repairs. They did everything they could to figure out the problem, and successfully fixed the level 3 charging challenges. Mostly, though, it was their caring level of attentive customer service which was the reason why I am writing a rare review! They communicated often and regularly with me, offered me shuttle service and loaner vehicles while mine was still in service, cleaned the car multiple times for me when we had to bring it back as the issues continued, delivered the car to my home, etc. They went above and beyond in SO MANY WAYS and I was grateful at their willigness to work with me as customer whose car was not working, through no fault of theirs. We can't speak highly enough of this team! read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. If you are looking to purchase a car, you can count on the sales rep to "run the numbers" and go in the office of his sales manager and be left for a long time not knowing what's going on. After a while, the sales rep, Rishi, comes out with a PAPER with hand written notes which clearly shows it was manipulated and not per the guidelines the Kia website has. You can count on them adding a "Market Adjustment" and force a "VIP Package" that "YOU HAVE TO GET" per the sales rep (which you DO NOT have to purchase) and they will low ball your car for trade in by 5-10K and in the end be given a rate 15% above what is expected. Rishi proceeded to argue with us when asked about what this "Market Adjustment" is because IT HAS NO EXPLANATION. Trust your gut and do yourself a favor: DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. All you will get are sleazy sales people who will overcharge you and will not look out for the customer AT ALL. We had to transfer dealerships after this incident. Negative stars..... Worst customer service ever!!! My husband took our car in to get serviced..... 6 hours went by and they still never called to say the car was finished. They said they called but they never did. They left the car dusty, not cleaned at all. 6 hours to do a minor check and then said my husband needed to get $500 of work done. He took the car elsewhere and they said the car was fine. They are a huge scam at the Richmond Kia!!! And absolutely horrible customer service. We will never buy another Kia. Such a shame! read more

I bought a 2015 Kia Soul from this dealership. The deal was not an easy one to make but the salesman FJ made some promises he did not meet. The deal included the supply and installation of a back up camera. I paid the $5000 deposit and then waited two weeks for the dealership to fix the body damage. I had thought that they would install the camera while the car was in their possession. Not so, I went to pick the car up and FJ informed me that the camera was on order. I waited a further two weeks as nobody called me from the dealership. FJ was gone from the dealership and nobody knew anything about the contract/sale. The sales manager was on paternity leave, the general manager was made aware of my calls and concerns but he never returned my calls. Finally I spoke to Angela and she was sympathetic re my dilemma. I was passed to a service person who basically said that the job could not be done by his service dept. He asked me to take photo's of the dash but unfortunately I didn't have an internet connection at the time nor do I have data on my phone. After a further ten days and with my searching the internet I found a company in Richmond who could do the job. I passed this information on to Kia Richmond and they in turn hired the company to do the installation. It took fours of my time and expense to get something I was promised a month ago. If I hadn't contacted Kia Richmond they would never have contacted me. Poor business ethic, poor upper management. None of the manager's returned my calls to date, not even an apology from them. Instead and thankfully Angela and Vickie at this dealership are excellent employees who know what service is and are polite and understanding to their customers needs. I sat and viewed the performance of the employees in the service and parts dept. It was pathetic, they are so lazy. The place needs to be cleaned out and replaced with people who know how to do a day's work. They may go home hungry but they certainly won't go home tired. Imagine? The customer (me) has to find a company close by who are capable of installing a rear view camera when the dealership who had it in their contract couldn't. It was such a disappointing visit today. My mom bought a Hyundai from here and her first service went very smoothly and free to boot! I have a Kia Rio that I purchased at Kia Vancouver and have been through some crazy amount of annoyance with the service department there. When they called last week for my next service, I decided to try this one in Richmond even though it is way more inconvenient. My moms service only took an hour or so and I figured I'd get some lunch and be done, right? Oh so wrong. I should have known better when I called a few days back and the man on the phone said they were owned by the same person. My spidey senses were tingling when he was going to hang up without setting up a time with me, but no, can't be worse than my relationship with the Vancouver one. I asked what time would work, and we settled on 130 pm. When I arrived just after one and, surprise! they did not have my appointment. When I explained that he was the one I spoke to on the phone, he said it "started to come back to him". He said since it's just a simple maintenance, it should only take about an hour and twenty minutes, no problem. We went off to get lunch and I called back two hours later. Another person answered and said it just went off to get washed, be ready in ten to fifteen. I went back forty minutes later and it wasn't ready. They said the wash was very busy, few more minutes. Why didn't they say that when I called back? They showed no urgency in serving me as the one settling my bill was talking to another staff about something he was showing on his phone and did not go over anything about the car, and did not go check on the status as he said he would. The one that lost my appointment said he would go get my car next then preceded to sit down to start flirting with his "favourite customer" and did not acknowledge me again. I had to go check in with the first one again to get him to finally get off his ass to fetch my car, unreal! I then finally had my key three hours later, more than twice longer than promised. When I got home and parked the car, I heard a new puttering noise, perfect! If I have to go back there again to get that checked out, I'm going to lose it. Now I'm just praying the noise goes away on its own. Are there any competent service shops around here? read more

They went above and beyond what we brought it in for, even vacuumed and cleaned our car, and temporarily fixed a broken key, and didn't try to gouge or upsell us. I used a DealFind coupon for my oil change/detail/whatever and thank goodness I did. I had to change the filters and the entire appointment cost me a lot more than I thought it would. That's not why I gave it 3 stars though. The service was fine, until it came to getting my filters changed. For some reason, that entire process took as long as the oil change and detailing. If it wasn't for one of their customer service reps, I wouldn't have had any information. I dropped my car off at 8:30; I didn't get it back until after 3. When I finally paid the cost of the filter change, the man I spoke to tried to make me feel as though they were giving me a deal by not charging the full time they took. I probably should have been happy they weren't charging me a hotel fee. Would I go back? Maybe, if there was another deal. Hopefully this doesn't turn you off them; the customer service was quite good, very friendly (on the most part) and knowledgeable. They also have a shuttle service that will drive you somewhere and pick you up. If I'd known it was going to take as long as it did, it would have been a great service. read more

I'm furious after buying a used car from here. I've had the car three weeks and have had to replace the control arm and the battery. Both of which were marked "in excellent" condition on my inspection report. Granted they covered the control arm, I still had to fork over money to pay for the battery because "its not covered under power train warranty" yet wasn't warned about the poor condition of it to begin with! (I don't possibly see how a battery goes from excellent to needing replacement in a three week period). There was no follow up with my sales rep and I feel like this car is going to continue to fall apart as I wait for the next thing to go wrong that wasn't noticed in there "Kia 120pt inspection". To note positives, negotiations and buying experience was pleasant. Still doesn't change the fact that this car has one hell of a bill to get it in proper working condition. I filled out their survey a week after having the car, listing my frustrations and was never contacted about my situation. So they've made it quite evident that they don't feel at all bad for giving me a false inspection report. Would not recommend. read more

I thought KIA Richmond is a big car dealer so they will be decent; however,my experience at KIA Richmond is not pleasent. Here are some tips which may help you if you would do business with them (buying a used car). 1: Chechking KIA Richmond's Rating at Better Business Bureau's websit: Currently it is a big F; having this infor in mind first so you know there may be some unpleasent situations later. 2: Always bring a technician or a friend who is knowlegeable about cars with you so you know where are the hiden collisions and other problems, and how much will be spent to fix the car. (At KIA Richmond, some cars have serious problems, and KIA Richmond will not tell you neither provide CarFax or Car Proof report. Their own car inspection report can not be trusted. Have to have a third party opinion.) 3: If KIA Richmond sells the car with PARTS ONLY title on the purchasing legal document then walk away from it. They sells the car which cannot be driven on the road; However,KIA Richmond will persuade people to buy the car at the first place and they want to exempt the resposibility of the risky car which they are selling. (Not a honest way to do business) 4: Before paying, ask the warranty of the car, and return, exchange policy. Let them write it down for you so you will have a peace of mind later. Horrendous service, customer service, dishonest employees, name it they have it, Dont service your car here at all, better just go to a Canadian Tire, The service advisor, Gil Laureno is especially dishonest and will say anything you scam you out of your hard earned money, Brake rotors, transmission flush, steering flush, you name it, Everytime I go for a simple service I get a quote for extra mandatory repairs for $200+ with this advisor "Gil Laureano", other advisors are more honest and provide better customer service, but price is not worth it, better just going to a local Canadian tire, Went here to fix a leak in my tire, cost me $55 + tax, for a leak smaller than a width of an ant, Leaked 3 psi per week, Leaked again after 1 month, brought it back, and they made excuse that it was not their fault and the repair is not warrantied according to Gil Laureano, Went to local COSTCO to get it fixed for less than $30, Leak never came back for 1 year now. Dont trust these guys, I permanently fixed a tire that cost $15 + tax at Costco under 15 minutes, that would have cost $70 at Kia richmond( which would have took 2 hours of waiting) + no warranties on repairs, they always make excuse like "maybe you hit another nail or pothole" , bunch of lies, scams and truly dishonest service tactics read more

On Thursday, March 28th, 2019, KIA Richmond accepted a partial payment of $5000 by VISA card on a 2015 Kia Sorento SX, on behalf of myself. The total amount of the vehicle was $18,000 taxes and fees included. The total price of the vehicle, and the amount for the partial payment (herein referred to as "deposit") was personally accepted by general manager, Mehdi Moghareh. The deposit was taken by the assistant sales manager, Jimmy Chang. I had made arrangements to pay the remainder of the total and pick up the vehicle in early evening on Monday, April 01, 2019, with Mr. Chang. On April 01, 2019, at or around 4:00pm., I was traveling to the KIA dealership. I called Mr. Chang to let him know that I was on my way. It was at that moment when Mr. Chang informed me that Mr. Moghareh had allowed the vehicle to be sold over the weekend. Mr. Chang told me, he called and texted me several times over the weekend to inform me that they were selling the vehicle out from under me. This was flat out untrue. The dealership neither informed me, nor did they return the deposit until Monday, April 01, 2019. I feel this is classic "bait and switch" tactics, as they sold the car I put a deposit down on for more money and then tried to up-sell me into another vehicle. Upon talking to Mr. Moghareh, he promised to "make things right". I was originally interested in a second 2015 Sorento SX they had, but the price point they wanted was a little over what I wanted to pay. The second Sorento SX had 20,000 less kms. on it and had a couple of other small options that were not on the first one. After calling me in, I arrived at the dealership and talked with Mr. Moghareh and discussed things with him knowing full well my price point, as I had previously told him over the phone what the most I was willing to spend was. And yet, he said to come in to discuss getting the other Sorrento which he had had detailed that day for me. I will add here that both of the Sorentos were listed on both Facebook and their website at $19,998. Mr. Moghareh made weak attempts to explain and excuse why they had sold the vehicle, which I had made a partial payment (but had not yet signed any documents) on, finally ending up by telling me that Mr. Chang had gone to great lengths to inform me prior to selling to the other person. I said that Mr. Chang was a liar, and there were no text messages, phone messages, or even calls made from him. Mr. Chang was brought into the office and I asked him if he called and texted. In front of Mr. Moghareh and myself, he reiterated that he did. I asked to see his phone and offer proof. He refused, and left the office after I got heated and again called him a liar. After about ten minutes of arguing with Mr. Moghareh to see the phone (he was stating privacy issues since it was his personal number), I encouraged Mr. Moghareh to go and see for himself since the phone Mr. Chang was using doubled as his work telephone and that Mr. Moghareh, being the general manager, had a right to look at those calls to establish truth. After talking with Mr. Chang for five minutes, Mr. Moghareh came back to the office and sheepishly informed me that Mr. Chang had indeed been lying. I loudly complained and Mr. Moghareh offered to fire Mr. Chang. I took him up on his offer but he then backed down from his statement. Mr. Moghareh stated that Mr. Chang "made a mistake". I explained that lying outright is a clear intention to divert the truth and to deliberately obscure one's actions-not a "mistake". I told Mr. Moghareh that to make things "right" for the lies and subterfuge on his employee's side that I should be compensated by having the second Sorento being offered at the same price. Mr. Moghareh tried to steer me away and showed me several other vehicles throughout the lot. I did not like any of them. I returned to the second Sorento and, out of desperation, offered $1000 more (for the difference in kms and options), coming to a total of $19,000 with taxes and fees included. He tried to explain that it was the trim up: SXL, the L being that it was a limited trim. But this also proved to be a lie as all Sorentos show that trim level on their trunk hatch as SXL and this one does not state that-it states, just as the first one did, SX. It was nice to finally hear from someone and get an apology, although an apology directly from Mario would have been a bit more meaningful. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with KIA RICHMOND. The sales person is BRAD DEAN. DO NOT BUY FROM HIM. I used uhaggle to see the dealer price or the dealer cost and then he got my number from them so he called me. He said he will call me on Sunday or Monday to confirm a time for me to test drive a "Forte LX+" and now it is Thursday June 11th. Still no phone call for him so I decided to call to KIA RICHMOND to make an appointment. After I finished, he called me right away and said why didn't you call me or why didn't you ask for me. As a sale person If you want my sale, you will call me and not the other way around. He told me to reschedule so he can get the commission from me but no, I am a busy guy (working 6 days a week with low pay too) so I don't have other time to spare. They promised me to do an appraisal for my car so I will know how much it cost. I called in to make an appointment to test drive the LX+ or the LX+ winter edition 2015. They said they have it so I can test drive it. But no they lied, I test drove the LX only They promised to do an appraisal for my car. But no they lied again, just giving me a rough estimate from autotrader. I can read it online but I want the exact numbers that I can get. They kept saying they can't do it because I am not buying the car right now. then dont promise me that you guys will do it. Then Brad Dean kept trying to sell me an used car with 5k-6k km for $17,000 ( drive out ) but no I don't want to pay like that . I asked him what is the best deal that he can give me. He told me nothing he can do. The website deal is the best deal. I am a sale too and I know whatever is on the websites are not the best deal. Then I asked to see the manager to give me an appraisal and he kept saying he is busy and can't do it and that is the best number. Now another girl stepped him and explain to me that is not the best deal that they can give me. They can give me more but they can only do it when I buy the car. *WTF? So they want to tell me the price when I decided to buy the car? They won't let me think? that is stupid. I was chatting with the girl sale person and then Brad just cut in and say that is the best that they can do and he kept saying, " Yeah that is the best, BYE! BYE! that is the best deal that we can give you. BYE! I bought a new Kia and met obstacles and dirty tactics at every step of the contract process. The finance person wrote up my order with finance charges (despite the 0% financing offer) and even *forgot to include my trade-in on the contract. How about the perks like free car washes for life? They scratched my car and I had to spend a day having it buffed out. Free Oil Changes? I've had a few but now am being told that I have to bundle them with a service ($24 min for fluid & tire check) in order to enjoy this perk. My friends who referred me to Kia were never provided their $100 referral perk. Overall -- bad score on these guys. They score high on the stereotypical bad experiences we hear about car dealerships. read more

I came about a super deal for an oil change from the net and was I ever surprised!!! Pure professionalism at its best~!! What I found out was the people in Richmond Kia were super nice and they took care of my car really well.. Not even a star they deserve. My Kia SUV were having some problems as the rain pours when the tires hits a puddle of water, the car stalls, blinking battery alarm on panel and power steering locks, very dangerous to drive. The service guy told me they have to recreate the scenario before they could fix it and since the weather was sunny that time they cant do anything. I've been digging research about similar problems, it happens to their vehicles. I got so frustrated, the next day I've called Hyundai whiterock, told my story to them, they took my suv, have it fixed. GOOD JOB KIA!, never again. read more

The car service department is a huge scam. DO NOT do anything more than get your free oil change there. Went in for a service and they mentioned I'd need a transmission flush... -$300. They then insisted I needed to change my brake pads and rotors (COMPLETELY FALSE) - went to a reliable mechanic who showed me that the pads/rotors were perfectly fine! I left the dealership with a list of items totaling more than $1k... mainly due to the fact that they thought my tires should be changed soon. Again, definitely NOT needed. Not sure what they do with you car other than wash it during the service but usually takes 3hrs+ of waiting. read more

In November 2015, My husband and I went in to KIA Richmond to look at a 2014 KIA Optima Hybrid EX Premium as advertised on Craigslist.  After starting the paperwork we were told that there had been a mistake as the car we were interested in was not available (although it is STILL being advertised on Craigslist!)  We were offered the exact same car in a different colour which was a 'manager's demo' vehicle and was represented to us as a well maintained vehicle only used by the manager, this turned out to be untrue.  We were also informed of a minor 'scrape' to the vehicle which had been so small that no claim had been processed through ICBC, also very untrue.  After only one and a half months of ownership, my husband was the victim of a hit and run accident (December 29th) which caused serious damage to our vehicle and resulted in our car being written off by ICBC.  At this time it came to our attention that our car had been in a SERIOUS accident previously that KIA did not disclose, and it was nowhere in our contract.  After contacting ICBC it was confirmed that our vehicle had, in fact been involved in an accident in June 2015 with damages totaling more than $8000. We were told that we were purchasing an essentially 'new' vehicle, and we most certainly would have never purchased a vehicle previously involved in a major accident.  We paid over $17,000 in cash, two monthly payments came out of my account, and we also traded in our vehicle for $9,000, which brought us to over $27,000 paid to KIA.  Due to the previous undisclosed accident our vehicle had been involved in, the value of the vehicle was less than what we had already paid out to KIA. ICBC issued a cheque in the amount of $19,000, leaving us with $8,000 lost in a MONTH. KIA's Operations Manger Mario Acevedo promised to make this issue right with us and reimburse all money invested by us, as he admitted that he had been aware of the June 2015 accident. He put all of the blame onto our salesperson (Dusty,) claiming that the Dusty had since been fired for ongoing unethical business dealings. Because our car had been an 'in house financing' agreement (essentially a lease to own)  the cheque from ICBC was issued to KIA directly.  Mario assured us that we would have the cheque shortly; however the weeks keep passing and we are being continually ignored and dismissed. No one will talk to us, phone calls are not being returned, and no updates are being given. We have been to the dealership at least 10 times this month with absolutely no resolution. They have our cheque and refuse to pay us! They had begrudgingly provided us with a loaner vehicle with the promise that we could keep it until they issued us our cheque; however when we made them aware that we had retained an attorney, THEY CALLED THE POLICE AND REPORTED OUR LOANER VEHICLE STOLEN! All of this because the staff is poorly trained, the management is crooked, and the owner is greedy and deceitful. read more

**this is a review for KIA Richmond - the first part is the back story that they (Eric-Richmond) were aware of prior to Lying to me*** I called Alen, at Applewood Kia Surrey, and advised him that I would be heading into the Langley branch (as langley had the new car I wanted on their Lot). Alen then said that they have 2 (one satin color and one blue) and that he would beat langleys price. I agreed to come to their site. On arrival Alen said that the manager was using the car, to get lunch, and he would be back in 5 min. Alen also said that they don't have either of the cars he told me they had. The manager arrived back in a white vehicle that was licenced and had 9000km on the clock. Alen claimed that this was a "new vehicle" or at worst a "demo". Anyway - we test drove the managers "new car" and then sat down to purchase a new 2014 that he, confirmed would not be a problem, could get from another dealer. After 30min of haggling I agreed to the price (they beat Langley by $500) and asked Alen to do the paperwork. He asked me to pay the $1000 deposit- which I did. Alen then presented me with the prelim purchase agreement. Upon review I discovered that Alen had written up a completely different vehicle (that we had never discussed) at a much higher price ($40,000). I brought this to his attention and he claimed "my mistake - woopsie". Yet we had spent the last 60 minutes talking about the one specific vehicle that I wanted to buy. I asked him for the correct document and he reluctantly wrote it up (took 30 minutes). By his body language it was clear that he did not intend to complete the deal. Alen promised to call me in 10 minutes once they had confirmed a dealer swap. And that we could leave the dealership. 1 hour passed and no call. So I called Alen and he said they were still confirming the dealer swap. The manger asked me to wait till tomorrow. The next day I receive no call, so I phone them at 1pm - Speak to the manager, as Alen is away, and he says that they still havnt done anything. I ask for my deposit of $1000 back onto my credit card and the manager tells me "that the internet is down and the visa machine is not working" but that he would "refund the money once it is back up". He also said that he would call me once done. (this was sunday. It took till Thursday to get back -and only after I involved KIA Canada head office) I have never - in my entire life - been lied to, and deceived, so many times in one afternoon. To make matters worse - I then called Kia Richmond -Eric,(on Sunday - the following day) and told them the above horror story and they said they have two of the cars in stock and a "pleasant surprise awaits" - so I drive to their lot and guess what - nada! They lied so that I would turn up and they tried to then sell me a used 2015. The Manager told me that they never had any of the model I asked for and the salesman didn't lie "he just made a mistake". The Salesman then continued to try and sell me the 2015!!! Needless to say I was enraged when I found that out - and drove away. The following day I asked for a fuel voucher (as it was 45min each way to richmond) the salesman said ok no problem -but I would have to collect in person!!!! If you think high pressure sales tactics have disappeared from the industry, think again. This dealership has kept that flame burning. during a recent visit, the sales guy kept changing the pricing and financing information and couldn't produce a printed copy of the information we sought ("my computer is not connected to the printer") We waited an interminable length of time for a vehicle to be "brought around from the lot". We finally gave up and left - just as the vehicle roared into the lot. I'm sure he was waiting us out. The attitude was rude, questions were personally intrusive. We were positively disposed to purchasing a Kia (other members of the family own them) but not from this dealership. read more

I am so disappointed with my entire experience here today. I was phone solicited by a salesman at this location to bring my 2013 Sportage in to trade up for the new 2017. He was a rookie salesperson, and I know everyone needs to start somewhere, but he left me sitting by myself 10 minutes at a time to go consult with his sales manager MARIO (who should've been part of the process and not leaving a customer that long with no explanation). Finally, Mario takes my keys from the salesman, DOESNT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ME WITH A HELLO, and heads outside to look at my car. He then gets in and drives away without even telling or asking me to do so. He came back in, again without acknowledging me, and my salesman disappears with him, only to come out another 15 minutes later and offer me the lowest value for my vehicle without even understanding why or being able to explain to me why the number is so low. He was then forced to back peddle his reasons for bringing me into the dealership that day for our meeting, all because his sales manager, Mario, can't take a few minutes to assist or coach this poor kid. I don't blame the salesman, Bal, but I do blame management. **Happy Ending Side Note** Afterwards, I went directly to the Kia dealership in Vancouver on SW Marine Dr and was treated like a customer should be treated and I will be purchasing a new Kia from them. Don't waste your time at the Richmond location - go to the other Kia dealership in Vancouver. You'll be happy you did. read more
