My experience with Tony Chevrolet in Hilo, Hawaii has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Their service department appears to do everything possible to avoid honoring valid warranties, placing the burden on the customer rather than standing behind the products they sell. Instead of advocating for customers, the staff repeatedly deflects responsibility, provides inconsistent explanations, and delays resolution until it becomes clear they are hoping the customer simply gives up. This is not how a reputable dealership should operate--especially one serving a local community that relies on trustworthy service. What's most concerning is the lack of concern for the community they operate in. There is no sense of accountability, transparency, or customer care. Warranty work should not feel like an argument or a negotiation (you paid extra for it in most cases); it should be handled professionally and in good faith. I strongly caution anyone considering service, buying a vehicle, or warranty work here. Based on my experience, Tony Chevrolet prioritizes avoiding responsibility over doing what is right for their customers and the product they sell.
