Not far from the hotel we found the Banh Thai restaurant, we walked in and were asked if we had a reservation to which we answered no. The hostess went out of her way to find us a suitable table. We ordered our meals and we were astonished at how good the food was. Our waitress, Marie, went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect ! I would heartily recommend this restaurant to one and all !

Now we have so much selection and Thai Express is at the top of the list for me when it comes to quick, inexpensive and yummy. My go to meal at TE is the Pad Saew Chicken (medium spice). It's incredible as I've eaten this at possibly 10 different Thai Expresses. TE consistency and quality is very good! Today was no exception! This is the nicest Thai Express I've been in. They have a drive through and even serve beer and wine! Not usually a fan of TVs in the restaurant but there is one here! If you like Asian food this is a nice quick inexpensive choice. Without beverage you can usually get out of here for under $10 per meal which on my mind is almost the same as Mcdonalds in Canada! Get you noodle or rice on Thai Express!!!!

Their…read moremenu is similar in selection and offerings of rice and noodle dishes with your choice of meat or vegetables and curries, peanut stir fry or teriyaki, General Tao or Panang noodles. It's definitely not high end but I'd prefer eating this to burgers-fast food any day of the week. I do believe the curries here to be better than Thai Express and a bit more plentiful. So I typically go for a red curry chicken. You also have a heat factor to order it. I ask for their extreme which I tend to call a medium plus on my heat scale. It's a creamy curry with peppers, onion and chicken over a bed of rice. Totally adequate for the $12-$13 it costs with a drink. The noodle dishes I'm not as much of a fan here and I never eat General Tao chicken. TZ is a great place to come for lunch or inexpensive dinner or late night snack. My preference is still Thai Express but it's good to have diversity in life.

There is also an A&W (if Asian is not your speed or liking) and a really cool gas station market and gift shop all under the same roof that you can browse around after your meal. My main meal at TE is Pad Sew chicken medium spice. This location did not disappoint with a healthy serving of Chinese broccoli, sauce noodles and chicken. It was prepared just as I had envisioned it. I ate it with a spring roll (not much flavour) and a coconut water for something different. In the seating are there was a nice flat screen where I caught some of the Habs game. I'd return to this location as with the gas station gift shop and comfortable area I'd declare this an above average experience Thai express. Plus it seems newer so it's fresh and cool. Hope this place ages well as time passes.
