Dr. Varinos is thorough, caring, professional, and makes the entire process completely stress-free. Let me tell you a story to prove it. I had trouble with an older crown fitted by a previous dentist no longer at the practice. Dr. Varinos decided--the very first time I met him--to not just re-cement the crown and send me on my way, but to resurface the tooth and fit me with a brand-new crown. He didn't ask for anything but my complete satisfaction. No charge! (I know!) Where I come from here in Winthrop, well, that's just plain good business. He also reworked my night guard as well to ensure it fit properly with the new crown. I decided then and there, THIS is who I want to entrust these 65-year-old teeth to! To top it all off, he's a humble guy who happens to be a legendary, two-time NCAA Division III All-American ace pitcher for the Tufts Jumbos (our very own Jim Lonborg)! As the son of the practice owner, Frank Varinos, Dr. Speros is a total, gracious gentleman of a dentist with an incredibly bright future. And with both his undergraduate and dental degrees from Tufts, he checks every single box! But it's not just him--the other professionals in the office are well worth mentioning, too. To wit: 1. KAREN: Last but DEFINITELY not least, you have to meet Karen to believe she's real because she's one of the nicest (and funniest!) people you'll ever meet. The office is clean. Front desk staff is friendly and efficient…read more The facility itself is a little...questionable. Open treatment rooms so there is zero patient privacy. Just have random people walking by while the dentist has a drill in my mouth...nothing can go wrong there right? No chance someone sneezes, bumps into the dentist, or any number of things. There are partial walls between patient areas but I could hear what was going on in the other rooms. The equipment is definitely "well used". The chair I've been in the last two visits is cracked and heavily worn. Still serviceable, just not what I'd expected from the "new office" advertising that drew me in. The dentist did excellent work with the fillings (I think?). I didn't see the fillings but I also don't feel the fillings. Great bedside manner during the injection since I'm a baby about needles and drills. Overall happy with my new dentist. Just don't go in expecting a new setup.

It says so much about the heart of a practice. A few years ago, I started clear aligner treatment to correct severe crowding, a chipped tooth, and years of difficulty maintaining proper hygiene because of how crowded my teeth were. My case was not simple, my treatment lasted close to four years but Dr. Alex was patient, thorough, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. He explains everything clearly, has an amazing chairside manner, and truly makes you feel comfortable and confident in the plan. The results have completely transformed my smile. I am beyond grateful. The office staff deserves just as much praise. The team is warm, welcoming, and consistent it's always familiar faces, which says a lot about the work environment and culture there. They worked with me financially to make treatment doable. I paid out of pocket, and they offered flexible arrangements that made it realistic without financial stress. Everything was transparent and fair. In all my years here, I can honestly say I've had maybe one minor negative interaction -- and that person didn't even stay long. Overall, this office runs on professionalism, kindness, and integrity. They do see children for general dental care, which I love but I only wish they offered orthodontic clear aligner treatment for kids as well. If they ever do, my teenage daughter will absolutely be there for the same transformation I experienced. That's how much I trust this team. If you're considering clear aligners or any dental work, this is the place.

Well, it was easy to get an appointment at least…read more I called because I lost a chunk of tooth (turns out it was a filling that fell out) and I needed it fixed. They got me in the next day!! Just not with the intention of doing anything about my tooth. We did a cleaning. The fastest and least detailed cleaning I've ever had. Also, I told both the assistant and dentist about 2 specific highly sensitive teeth. Both acknowledged the sensitive areas then proceeded to blast those sensitive areas with the rotary polisher and water picks. "I shall do no harm" apparently doesn't apply to dentists. Ignoring specific warnings from patients about painful areas is a bit unethical...also, no one could find anything. All four people who came into my room were running around opening and closing drawers like they lost their car keys. I still don't know if they found what they were looking for. We did X-rays. At the end I find out that Ed aren't fixing my busted tooth, that'll be next week. Today was to establish me as a new patient. Great! Yay! I'm soooo excited for my new dentist.... 5 stars for speed of appointment 1 star fir being attentive to the patient 2 stars for meeting my needs 5 stars for the staff being friendly and courteous 1 star for professional behavior in front of the patient.

I wrongfully didn't get a second opinion and ended up having the first few filled that were "more severe" which caused sensitivity to those teeth (didn't even have sensitivity before the fillings). One of the fillings would catch on my floss, I went back for multiple appointments with different dentists in the office and they all said the filling was fine (I suspect they just didn't want to redo it). Lone and behold the filling that they told me was just fine popped out after a MONTH! Do not trust them with your teeth, you'll regret it.

I have had 4 out of 6 treatments so far and have had a good experience each time. The rest of my review is about laser hair removal. Laser hair removal: I bought a Groupon for 6 sessions of removal on an extra large section (full legs). I was a little nervous about getting a laser treatment from someone who wasn't a doctor and who I found on Groupon, but i went for it and I'm glad I did. I originally went for a consult in July and the person I met with told me to come back in late Sept or early Oct, because you have to protect your skin from the sun during treatment and that is hard during the summer. I appreciated the honesty and the fact that the woman actually knew what she was doing. I came back in October and the woman I had initially seen had moved on so I saw Jen (I think). She was super professional and even after just 1 session my hair was almost totally gone. I did three sessions with her and each time I noticed less and less hair. Jen has now moved on to a new place, and this last session I saw Emily (I think that was her name). I was worried about seeing a new person but she was so methodical and professional and super quick. She just like zap zap zap and she was totally done. So despite the turnover, AP Dental and Laser seems to be recruiting very quality employees and I would recommend them to anyone. I can't say that all Groupon places are legit, but this one definitely is. Once I finish my 6 sessions, I will totally come back here if I need touch-ups and am also debating using them for Invisalign because of how professional they all are.

Returned & 3 people were assisting (not sure wHy). The test began before I was in place & I had to yell "stop" afraid I would get hit by the machine. I am disabled & was afraid I would fall. Asked me to pay a $100+ bill on the way out but was told on previous visit (by Lilly) there was no additional charge. I have since received a non-itemized bill in the mail & need to clarify. Also, what's with the v. short chairs in the waiting area no arms. It woud be impossible for me and many adults to rise from them so I have to stand & wait when I get there. THIS RELATES TO THE WATERTOWN OFFICE.
