I guess I'll make more Suman, make Samgaetang, make Igado with the Halal beef liver, and make a delectable batch of Cioppino, too. As always, I'm discovering new foods found at KP International Market such as a large selection of Lavash bread. In addition, I was shocked discovering the Organic King Oyster Mushrooms' price skyrocketed to $7.49-a major disappointment. Meanwhile, the Seafood Service Employees were on top of their game serving countless throngs of customers' orders. Pertaining to KP International Market's ambiance, it was quiet for such a large space, well-organized, and clean which is the primary reason returning month after month, year after year.

This is a Burmese Myanmar shop, full stop. They do have a little bit of other Asian things here,…read morebut those aren't anywhere near enough for much. And as you browse down the aisles, you'll see things you've never seen before. Hell, a lot of the products are in Burmese only, with maybe an English sticker on the back. That's how authentic and unique we are talking here. Fermented laphet, both whole and grounded, for tea leaf salad. Cans of pickled vegetables you've never seen before. Condiments. Fried garlic crunch. Instant noodles. More pickles and shrimp cake in the fridge. These are not things you'll find in the nearby major Asian supermarket. And if you find yourself with too much fermented tea leaf at once, well, I have sesame dressing at home, and my go to is noodles dressed with the sesame dressing for a good base flavor, with the laphet added for a twang in the flavor, and cilantro added for freshness. Because they sell laphet by the bag on the shelf, and that's a lot, but they also sell them in packet bundles on the stand near the door, and the packets are super powerful, at least when you're cooking for just a bachelor.

We went to this restaurant for Iftar and was extremely disappointed. It was a buffet, but the food…read morewas clearly not fresh--it tasted like it was from the previous day. Many dishes were cold, stale, and completely inedible. A buffet should be well-maintained with fresh food, especially for Iftar, but this place failed to meet even basic expectations. Definitely not worth the visit, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for quality food.

What other butcher counter does that? Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. Staff was friendly and answered my nosy questions; check out was easy and uncrowded. Worth a trip.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at Four Season Market in Sacramento, CA was upsetting…read moreand honestly concerning as a parent. I purchased clearance food items that I later realized -- without even opening them -- were clearly not fresh and not safe to eat. This is especially serious to me because I have children, and I rely on stores to sell food that is safe for families. What makes this worse is that I was told in the store that these products were "safe" and that employees buy them themselves. When I returned to request a refund, one associate initially said it would be accepted. However, the same employee who originally reassured me suddenly refused, became visibly upset, and told me "it's the law" that they cannot take the items back. That statement is misleading -- stores cannot avoid responsibility for selling food that is not safe for consumption. On top of that, during the same visit I was overcharged for other items compared to the posted prices, which added to my frustration and concern about how this business operates. This was not just poor customer service -- it raises serious concerns about food safety and consumer rights. I strongly recommend that others carefully inspect any items before purchasing here and double-check prices at checkout.
