We stumbled on Khmer Cuisine after we finished our visit to the Design Museum. Didn't expect to come across Cambodian food in Copenhagen but we were hungry so we went inside. We dined quite early and practically had the restaurant to ourselves. Decor was casual with a mixture of different styles of tables and chairs. There was only one staff and he sat us, took our order and served us. Menu contained a mixture of familiar and new dishes. We chose the fish amok but what was served wasn't anything close to what we've eaten in the past. Instead of steamed fish and curry we had a bowl that was a fish soup served with lots of veggies. If we ordered a fish soup then it would be a good dish but really missed the curry and mousse like texture for normal amok. The char kroeung was a stir fry with a very generous amount of veggies and sliced chicken. I liked the seasoning, spice level and flavors for this dish much better and would order again. After we completed our meal, the jack of all trades disappeared and we ended up walking to the front to take care of our tab. read more

Incredible dishes all round! Especially the pleah sach tia (duck breast with fresh herbs, lemongrass, bean sprouts and ground toasted rice) and sach koh teuk prahok (grilled sirloin steak served with a sauce made from fish sauce, lemongrass, galangal and kaffir lime leaf, and fresh vegetables). Truly sublime. Fresh squeezed orange juice too! And coconut water, which is scarce around here. Family restaurant. They cut up everything fresh each morning. I really can't say enough good things. Excited to see a Cambodian restaurant in Copenhagen and had to visit for dinner. One day. We were only one of three tables and food was okay. The hu tieu was more sweet than necessary and the noodles were not flat homemade noodles as the menu described. The loc lak lacked flavor. The young person working as server was completely inattentive and whenever possible ran back to the front to be on his phone. Lastly, we were also gorged - charged 50 DKK for tap water - never told us. We could have ordered beer for cheaper... read more

Fantastic! First timing having Cambodian food. We ordered both starts and mains and found them to both to be both tasty and refreshingly light. Notable mentions are the soufflé that was very bright in lemongrass flavor and the duck salad which was flavorful with crispy duck. Also, I would highly recommend that lemon grass lemon aid. It is house made and not over powering with either flavor making it a perfect match for all menu items. We'll be back again if ever in Copenhagen. read more

Disclaimer: This review is for their lunch service: We dropped by at the restaurant around noon and the place was relatively empty. The lunch menu was quick to look at, either variety of noodle soups for 69kr or sandwiches for 49kr. My boyfriend chose Num Banh Chok (fish curry noodle) and I chose the Kuytiev Phnom Penh (Phnom Penh noodle) with pork and seafood. The dish came out fast and although the portion looked little (probably due to a large bowl) we were quite full by the time we finished. My boyfriend was very happy with his fish curry noodle and me with my Phnom Penh noodle. This clear noodle reminded me a little of pho, just without the star anise and all those basils and the chillis, and it used a different kind of noodles. Since the elderly man behind the cashier counter who also served as our waiter for the day said that Cambodian noodle dishes weren't supposed to be spicy, he gave me a small bowl of chilli sauce for me to put in *thumbs up* We were thoroughly happy with our lunch. read more

A Cambodian restaurant in Copenhagen. Who knew? Glad we spotted it on our way to the Design Museum Denmark (about 2 blocks away) so we could circle back for dinner. The food was great and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful with a couple questions we had. Customers included some indigenous Dane business men, a South East Asian family, and us two tourists, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. Service was not fast paced, but we were in no rush. Went to the restaurant in order to try out the six course menu. At just 300 kr pr person, it is a steal at the price. Everything was really nice and fresh, and tasted authentically cambodian. We especially loved the braised beef soup with carrots, the fresh khmer salad, the cod souffle and the dessert - deep fried banana with coconut sorbet, pickled jackfruit and peanuts. My only regret was that there was so much food I was unable to finish to meal. We also liked the personal and charming service - really feels like a family run place.
