I discovered Khloe over a year ago when I was in town for a family event and desperately needed my hair cut. I had heard good things about her and frankly I'm so accustomed to being let down time and time again trying to find a good stylist out here in Seattle, I really didn't even care at that point whether I got a decent cut or not. Well, never would I have imagined that the best haircut I would ever get would be with someone literally 2000 miles from home who works out of her own salon.
I fly back to Madison now twice a year - partly to see friends/family but also to get my haircut. I know it sounds ridiculous. I have been searching high and low for the last 20 years for someone who can give me a decent cut. I have gone to top-rated salons and paid over $100 for a haircut on multiple occasions. I've even tried getting my haircut in bigger cities like LA and San Francisco where I thought there'd be more talent. I have fairly thick, Asian hair that needs to look professional yet long enough to pull back for working out. Not much to ask for. I'd become so frustrated with how seemingly impossible it was to find someone who just knew how to cut my hair and have it look nice. At one point I was beginning to think that my expectations were just unrealistic. I'm not a picky person. I am very low-maintenance and I wanted a haircut that looked decent with minimal work on my part.
After Khloe gave me my first cut over a year ago, I couldn't believe how great my hair looked! I was literally like, "where have you been all my life???" I had her to write down specifically what she did so I could get the same thing done here in Seattle. When I presented my notes to a stylist once I was home, she had this confused look and proceeded to give me the same blah haircut she probably gives everyone with shoulder-length hair. So unfortunately, I now have to spend $400 on a flight twice a year to go see Khloe because that's how amazing she is.
I keep trying to convince Khloe to move to Seattle, telling her that we city folk would appreciate her skills more than the rest of her Packer-loving and beer brat-eating clientele. I'm sure all her clients love her as much as I do, but I'm going to say/do what I can since $1000 a year for two haircuts is a lot of money. In the meantime, Madison is unbelievably lucky to have that kind of talent without having to travel to LA or NYC to find it. read more
