    Shrimp and fish grits! Amazing!!!
    Jonelle C.

Food was really good! It was freshly made, seasoned very well, I really enjoyed my meal. I even ordered the brisket breakfast to go and I tasted that as well and it was very good! I will definitely go back! The chef is so kind and friendly, so is all the staff, customer service is very important and it is. Clear to the staff that it is important to them!

I seldom write reviews, but I had to take the time to rave about the AWESOME experience I had at Khepera's Kitchen. From the moment you walk in you feel at home. The music, the aroma from the kitchen and the smiling faces makes you know the food is made with love. My hubby took me along with our kiddies for my birthday brunch. We had a little fruit & herb infused water and delicious cornbread with jalapeño ((yum)) to start -- this was all complimentary. I had the shrimp and grits. These had to be the best Shrimp and grits I have ever had; even better than the ones I would often get in Charleston SC. My daughter had the French toast; which melts in your mouth. At the conclusion of our meal we had the opportunity to speak with Chief T which added another sparkle to our meal, because she loves feeding people not only with her culinary skills, but through music and philanthropy. You absolutely must have this experience- it's so worth it!

The food here is absolutely amazing!!! Their French toast is by far the BEST French toast I've ever had. And, they make their bread fresh in the restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the brisket skillet and of course I had to try it. I loved it, and I'm not a big brisket eater. We also tried the pancake and a side of cheese grits which both were amazing as well. The staff is so friendly and they make you feel like you're right at home. I throughly enjoyed my dining experience and the food. I will definitely be returning in the very NEAR future.

I discovered this gem one day while I was at work. I decided to take my gf for her birthday breakfast. When we arrived we were Immediately greeted by the entire staff. We were seated as soon as we came in and we were also given fruit infused water and mini jalapeño corn muffins(DELICIOUS). As we were deciding what to order the waiter let us know how the business only uses the freshest food. They buy all their fruits and vegetables locally and they also buy their meat from a local butcher. They also make their own bread in house. My GF ordered the french toast with the fresh strawberries and house-made whip cream. That French toast was the lightest and softest French toast I have ever had (best French toast of all time). I ordered the brisket breakfast skillet which had potatoes and spinach topped with a fried egg. The brisket was seasoned superbly. We also ordered cheese polenta grits which was very good also. If you are ever in Baltimore for breakfast or brunch this is the place to go. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

This place is amazinnnnnnnng. When I tell you I felt like I was home or at a friends house because the atmosphere is just intimate. Khepera's staff knows how to make you feel at home. Located in the Waverly area, street parking available. Let's talk about the food. Listen, the flavors in that damn brisket will have you wanting more. The omelette, the turkey sausage, the grits, potatoes and the brussel sprouts will leave your stomach bustinggggg with joy. A nap is definitely needed, but don't do it! Walk it off, take a deep breath, look at your calendar and make the next reservation. The infused waters, fresh juices, teas....just fresh and delish! And they have a BYOB option which makes it more homelike. Make a trip there. You will not be disappointed.

Breakfast Brisket, Shrimp & Grits, and Strawberry French Toast with Fresh Whipped Cream and Sausage

I had a really nice brunch here with my family on Sunday, June 3rd 2018! The space is open and communal, and the staff is very friendly and attentive! Everything was clean and it was a bit warm what with the open kitchen and everything, but very comfortable! We had the challah french toast with fresh whipped cream and strawberries, their breakfast brisket, and the shrimp and grits, all of which were excellent. The french toast wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and the fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce/compote were phenomenal! The brisket was fall-apart smooth and the shrimp and grits were rich, buttery, and garlicy. The portions are fairly generous too! I'm definitely going back there!

brussel sprouts, we couldnt finish them and will probably argue who gets them later on
    Erika S.

OK - as soon as I took a bite of the brisket skillet I could not stop smiling. The food is seasoned perfectly, portions are generous and just the right amount. We were so blown away by the depths of flavor, presentation and for a reasonable price! The place is so cute it feels like you are at your family's house watching your aunts cook. Everyone was so friendly and just had a homey feel, I just wish my home had cooking like this LOL

In town for Morgan State University Homecoming 2018 . Been an online follower for a while, I now have a chance to experience the wow factor 1st hand. Bruch menu has many staples I.e, shrimp & grits , chicken and waffles ... but I'm biased.. don't think too many places can come close to my own so I tend to go for the not so common menu offerings- I chose loaded baked potato stuffed with pulled chicken & cheese. ... in two words I " loved it". Chicken was moist, flavorful. Seasoned just right. 2 family style seating tables, 3 two seater tables. Place holds Aprox 25 guest. It's cozy & comfortable. 2 servers, one in training. They were attentive without being intrusive, an A+ on customer service.. if you're in BMore on Saturday or Sunday be sure to stop by. Next time in spite of my bias I'm going to order the chicken & waffles... 5 of the 11 customers in the place ordered and its looks delicious. Get here before the word gets out. This place is the #nextbigthing.

    Salmon and grits.... so delicious

Food was good the place was smaller than expected however the food was good. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because my side of bacon was placed on my friend's plate tucked under her omelette and she doesn't eat pork. Glad she isn't a person who will return their tray if the pork touches her food because when I mentioned I had not received my side of bacon, the cook's response was it's the same bacon I can take the bacon off of her plate.. Not very apologetic that you put pork on her plate but also told me to just did on her plate and take the food for my own... Other than that and my forgotten lemon (4 times) for my tea, things were fine. I'd go back.

We made breakfast sausage, buttermilk biscuits, chicken fried steak, country cream gravy, crispy hash browns, sunny side up eggs, fruit salad, and Texas sheet cake and somehow it all came together into an incredibly delicious meal. Chef Ted was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout the class. At one point I was deep in ADHD overwhelm trying to keep up with the Texas sheet cake while everyone else seemed miles ahead, but Chef Ted and Madison (KA) stepped in, got me across the finish line and the cake turned out great!!!! The class was instructional and a little fast-paced in the best way. The two hours flew by!! It felt busy but never stressful, and sitting down to eat what we made together was the perfect payoff. Two thumbs (or forks?) way way up. Definitely recommend and would absolutely do another class!! We're already talking with friends about booking a private group night.

Within the class there were about a dozen things to make. You are divided into 2 tables, with each table making everything. Personally, you make one or 2 things. I was assigned the savory crepe batter and the spinach filling. Then everyone took turns cooking a crepe or 2. In all the class was a blast! There were some minimal drawbacks. To start, I previously posted about them not honoring gift cards. I quickly removed that post and they corrected the problem. I am very satisfied with how that was handled after the fact, but the old gift card was not easy to use without working with the owner. I also had a few times in the class where I could not find items like spoons or ingredients easily. The class had a lead instructor and then a kitchen assistant. It took some getting used to and understanding how the place worked. I almost feel more prepared if I were to sign up for a class again. First hour was not the most intuitive. I recommend these cooking classes. It was fun and a good date morning with my husband.

I thought we would at least have our own stations and be making our own meals--instead we worked as a collective, creating a sort of assembly line for rolling, stuffing, and making sauce, and we could jump around as we pleased. I forgot the instructors name, but he was very energetic, knowledgeable in his instruction, and friendly---making a very delicious focaccia bread for us to nibble on---which was a highlight. The space is also very cute! At the same time, for a pasta making class, I was not prepared to have everyone's hands rolling and cutting the food I would be eating at the end of the night. I tried not to look at what others were doing, as to not ruin my experience, but I do not feel enough emphasis was put on cleanliness to make this something I would want to do again. For example, we were rolling pasta with our bare hands, but some people were drinking their BYOB beverages, eating , and taking pictures. I don't think any hand washing took place in between. Lastly, we made 3 different pasta dishes and only 1 of them was really good in the end. The others were edible, but just not that great and needed more flavor. If I did return, it would be with a private group of people I know to make the experience more comfortable and enjoyable. OTHER GLOWS: -Free parking validation for 3 hours right outside! -10% off at lighthouse for byob drinks before hand (we didnt know this!)

When I went inside, the staff was very friendly and talkative. I decided to get the dulce de leche and passion fruit cakes in a jar, plus I got the cookies n creme and red velvet cupcakes. Appearance wise the cupcakes look great. The whipped icing on the cookies and cream had a weird thick and slimy consistency. The red velvet was not bad, but the cupcake was dry and underwhelming. The passion fruit was absolutely terrible and I couldn't get past the icing! Gross. The dulce de leche had a good flavor, but the cake was dry and old. When I got home, I noticed they have dates on the bottom of the cake jars and the dates on my jars were 10 days ago! I cannot get past a bakery selling stale and dry products. It is clearly their thing because there are too many reviews complaining about the quality of the products. Overall, I will never visit here in the future and I would encourage others to consider all of the reviews that have similar complaints. I am not sure if this has become an after thought to the owner, but if they are still active in the business, they should really fix this issue because the reviews are very consistent and telling of the downhill spiral this place appears to have taken.
