Saba is a very nice family-owned Persian restaurant in Moseley…read more Their menu is very reasonably priced, with incredibly large portions and really friendly management and staff! The Kebab Kobedah (ground lamb) is delicious, as are the many assorted starters served with naan bread- I especially enjoyed the mast o khyar (yoghurt with cucumber) and mirza qasemi (a smoked aubergine and garlic dish). If you fancy tea after your meal, they do a lovely Persian tea service. The tea is really strong! Great for large groups-- I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Moseley, or looking for excellent home-cooked Persian food in Birmingham!

Saba is a local, family owned Persian restaurant…read more The food here is absolutely fantastic. I got a lamb shank with rice, raisins, and carrots. The lamb shank that came with my food was huge (I took the left overs home with me and got 2 extra meals out of it), so keep that in mind if that's what you're going to order. Although, the owner mentioned that he may be speaking to his butcher about getting smaller lamb shanks because it was a bit difficult to eat due to it's size. I was at a table with 6 people, who all got different dishes (all more reasonable sizes that the lamb shank), and not a single person was disappointed. We finished off the meal with some Persian tea, which the owner was kind enough to offer us free of charge (probably because we were a large group). Throughout the meal the server (who I think was also the owner) was extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend Saba to anyone in Mosley! In fact, it's good enough that if you don't live in Mosley, it's really worth taking a trip to eat here.

It was quieter compared to Nandos... very very quiet, as there was only 4 customers having their dinner on one table only. So we took a chance and went in to try out this place before the movie. Parking is not a problem , there are place parkings pots on the streets and the big car park next door. Customer service I cannot really comment on that as there was no customers to see how they perform in pressure. So as we were the only second customers at the restaurant, we were nicely welcomed and offered any table to choose from, we decided to sit next to the window in the corner. Quickly decided our food and one quick starter dish. The starter arrived within 5 minutes of ordering our food, the waiter left the plate on the table and said enjoy and left. Now I was a bit curious at this stage as to how are we suppose to eat this dish, Mutabal I believe it was, there was no bread, or crackers or something to use that dip as a DIP. So curiously I enquired from the waiter and then he revealed that we suppose to eat it like that as it is, with the spoons Maybe, he said, "this is how we persians eat", he said. After listening to his justification I was just praying and hoping that the main dishes will be not a disappointment. Lamb shank with Herb rice and Lamb steak with saffron rice was delicious for me to try it first time. I cannot say anything about its authenticity as it was my first every try of persian version of these dishes. For me these two dishes was delicious or maybe because we were very very hungry as well. We enjoyed the main dishes, that we cleaned the plates quickly. The bill was double the price of what it would have costed at Nando's so a bit disappointed on the pricing, but what can say, they are sitting in the main busy central point to do business. Overall experience is not VERY VERY good, its okay for first time try, I would not go back here knowing the prices are a bit too much for my liking. And I would not recommend a friend about this place unless they accidentely went in to have quick bite only.

I was reluctant to eat here at first, but was glad when I received my food. I didn't like the interior décor of this establishment, it was unkempt and dark. There was a television on in the corner and not much else going on. The menu was clear and I decided to order falafel cooked in a Kurdish style Nan. The food was absolutely delicious, the Nan had sesame seeds on it and the falafel was accompanied by a tasty fresh salad. The price for the meal was very cheap and I was satisfied after I had finished the meal.

Vegetarian options come in the form of falafels which are scooped out of a tub of lentil pulse and convincingly authentic! Naans are a speciality with the shop working as a Bakery providing traditional breads for the local families. Pasha offers a seated area and also features a large world map, giving the place a nice international feel. For a real lamb kebab or the lighter option of a falafel Pasha is good choice for a quick bite and continues to provide quality fast food.

We sometimes use the A la Carte menu, and at other times enjoy the buffet menu. Both are delicious! The buffet menu doesn't do your waistline any good if you have no self control! Food has always been really good. I understand that the chef is Iranian, but adapts the recipes to suit an English palate. Perhaps check with the restaurant if this is of interest to you! I have never had a dish that I do not like! Staff have always been efficient and pleasant. The restaurant has an excellent reputation in South Shropshire, and I have never met anyone who does not regard it highly, There is plenty of parking space in the restaurant car park.
