As we were exploring London we decided to look for a Thai restaurant in the area. We did a quick search and came upon this location. It was slightly difficult finding it at first because it is actually above a street level pub called Three Cranes. I believe there is more than one floor that makes up this restaurant as well, and we were seated in the first level, but still above the pub.
They asked if we had a reservation and we did not, and at first they seemed confused and almost put-out that we had come in as a walk-in, but then they were accommodating and they sat us down. At this point it was not busy and there were plenty of tables, but we weren't sure if they had all been reserved and therefore they were hesitant to seat us.
I really liked the interior of the dining room with flashes of metallic gold and very nice dishware and art. I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp and tofu. I will say that it was on the salty side with not a lot of nuances in the flavor profile that I have come to expect, like tamarind, lime, umami, and nuttiness. I enjoyed a cold Singha beer and overall it was a pleasant meal, but not anything overtly memorable in the food aspect of it. read more
