Hmmmm I don't really get the hype and the close to 5 star review of this place. We got the coconut pancakes and... they were just alright? Tastes like pan fried milk but with coconut milk instead. Nothing amazing but not bad - would definitely consider trying other things in the borough market!

OMYGOD. Thai street food. I LOVE thai street food, at least from what I've tried from Khanom Krok in Borough Market. It's a rather new stall, I popped along one Wednesday afternoon before going to Brighton, because I had half hour to kill and I like to eat. So it's a bit hidden in the green market area, but by god, it smells and looks amazing. They were selling these cute little tiny pancakes and I like cute tiny foods. they make me smile and feel like a giant because I'm only 4ft11 and I need some comfort about my height. So initially, I wanted to buy a half portion but I wasn't allowed and I can see why, about a minute later, all 8 mini pancakes were gone, devoured, and savoured. They're like filled with heavenly coconut milk and it was light, creamy and JUST.SO.GOOD. I want another portion of 8 now. I know coconut milk is bad for me, but SO GOOD. *drools* (I think I also salivated on the train back from brighton, Sinja and Alex had to snap me out of it...)

We kept seeing people with delicious looking pad thai while wandering through Borough Market, so went in search of the fare. We found Khanom Krok, and though there was a fairly long line (10-15 people), it went relatively quickly, to where we had our chicken pad thai and vegetarian pad thai in hand about 10 minutes later. It did not disappointment - it was quite delicious. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the wait was slightly awkward. Though the line went quickly, there were lots of other people trying to get in and around their stand, so the line awkwardly ran around and behind the stand. This also meant those trying to join the line were occasionally confused. We also were asked our order while waiting, and paid someone in cash, even though we were still 5-8 people behind. It all ended up working out fine, but it did feel slightly odd to be handing over your money when so far back in line without any proof that you paid. (You just sort-of had to trust that he would remember.) It all worked out in the end, though.

The coconut pancakes are so so so good. Definitely pricey but worth it for a unique sweet treat. I think it was £4-5? You get a light tray with 8 of them. It's crispy on the bottom but maintains a coconut pudding layer on top. Loved it.

Pad Thai was legit. The egg and nuts in this dish were really tasty. Their coconut pancake is a must!!! Not overly sweet and had a very addictive coconut flavour to it.

I was browsing the different food stalls in Borough Market, wanting to try everything that it had to offer and saw a huge line of people waiting to try this place. Too lazy to wait in line, I decided to come back early the next day and try out this place before I left to go home. While this deviated from my mindset of wanting to try authentic British food, I'm glad that I ate at this food stand. The chicken pad thai was everything that I wished for. It was the perfect combination of sweet, sour, and salt, and I couldn't stop eating it. I have to admit, it was probably some of the best pad thai I've had in my life, and I can't believe that it was in a tiny food stall in London.

Coconut pancakes are a must. Custard and sweet and light. I'd eat a hundred of them! 5 pound minimum for card, but there's an ATM nearby.

I didn't like the fish cakes, too pungent for my taste. Liked the noodles I had, although I'd go for another meat choice besides beef. Wasn't to my liking. Siam Central covers the lot, great customer service, delivers on food quality texture & flavours,my son had duck mee goreng & I had the prawn red curry with chicken satay on the side with a couple of beers - magical Highly recommend & great value for money in the heart London

A restaurant doesn't score 5 stars for being perfect - no no, 5 stars are reserved for that ideal…read moremix of great food and feel within its own self-selected category. Siam Eatery has done exactly this, rising to the top of the food chain in the fast-eats Asian category in the busy Covent Garden area. First, the price point is right on with others in their category (think Wasabi and Itsu) at around 8 pounds for a solid meal. You can get away for 5.50 if you're not that hungry and don't want a drink - but then you'll miss out on their stellar Thai Iced Tea. And, might I add, this is the first quick-eats Asian place I've visited that has mastered - let alone even TRIED - Thai Iced Tea. DO IT. Second, mains are wonderful. Customisable and packed with flavour, the curries don't just peg to the meat and veg, there's enough juice in there to create that perfect coated, rich rice base that is why we REALLY love curry. Their everyday special chicken is stunning (think spicy-red curry), while their standard red and green are just as good and full of flavour. The options of red, brown and white rice, or without rice and salad instead, have reached Tortilla-level customisation without having traded options for quality (as Tortilla have done, IMHO). Third, it's crazy fast. Most everything is pre-made, as this category is good at, but they do so well to keep you from knowing it. Everything is kept hot and unpackaged (except for the fridge salads, of course), and made just for you. It really does feel like you've stumbled into a legit curry house here. The spot is busy come lunchtime, though you'll get dinner in 30 seconds flat. And unlike a lot of popular lunch spots around, they're open til 20:00 most nights, making dinner here feasible. There are about 10 seats in this place, but you don't need to eat here. Though it's nice and classy, this is undoubtedly a grab-and-go place. Seriously, though - don't forget your Thai Iced Tea. Would be a shame to miss the cherry atop the sundae at this gem of a curry palace.

The cafe is very well positioned for Covent Garden but is off the beaten track so not full of tourists. They have a selection of different warm dishes, varying in spicy-ness and meats. They also sell some lovely looking salads. The price is reasonable for Covent Garden with the veg curry costing £5 and salads £4.80. They also have a few seats inside and they don't charge you extra to eat in which is great! The staff are lovely too and will advise you on what to have if you're not a huge fan of spicy food (I only realised this after fighting my way through the red Thai curry though). I went back again today and had a delicious satay chicken sandwich which was very yummy.
