    Paneer Vindaloo
    Bansri P.

Decided to give this place a try on Saturday night. We were the only table seated. Our first server was not friendly and rather unwelcoming. It says it is an Indian restaurant but it is Nepali, and was not the authentic Indian food experience I was looking for. Would not recommend the paneer vindaloo, the sauce tasted like tomato sauce. The chili naan was dry and did not have any butter/ghee. Even the vegetable momo were flavorless. Unfortunately, will not be back. Will be sticking to Bollywood Indian Fusion for Indian food in the area.

We ended up coming here because another place we wanted to try had a 1 hour wait. Nevertheless, we usually enjoy a nice Indian place. The place is nice and small with some colorful decor inside. It is clean and the tables are spaced out nicely. Food was okay, nothing that excited me. I wanted my chicken tikka masala to be very spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all. The mixed appetizers and kabobs were okay, but still good. Service was mediocre. We had a hard time trying to get the server's attention. They kept rushing us to make our order. The bill had an automatic 18% service charge and we were only 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby. I guess some restaurants do that , but I don't like being told how much to give unless it is a big party. Overall, it was an okay place, but nothing for me to really go back to.

Was craving something filling after a long day of moving with my parents and we decided to get Indian food from Khana. What a good call because we left so happy, full and satisfied. We ordered the eggplant chaat to start, this was the only dish I took a chance on as I've never tried it before and it was so well-received by me and my family. The eggplant slices had a crispy texture and was flavored by the various sauce/garnish on top. We cleared the plate very quickly. The other main dishes were just as good, at least matching my expectations from having had them before if not exceeding them! We definitely ordered more than we could finish but glad that meant there were leftovers for later. Enjoyed it all to the last bite, looking forward to going back for fulfill my next cravings!

We love this place. The food is always good- both eat in and take out. The menu is full of great options- lamb, goat, chicken, veggie options... and they'll spice to your preference- hot to mild (although, I don't know why you'd go to Indian food if you wanted mild- LOL). They're nice people and I'm glad they're doing well. We go here to make special occasions feel special.

Food quality and quantity was pretty good. Watch out for the 18% service charge (tip) that they add without consent, not cool.

Indian food is one of my favorite types of cuisine, so I tend to have high standards for it. The food from Khana was so good I couldn't stop eating it! I convinced my 65 year old aunt and 95 year old Italian grandmother (both of whom can be picky when it comes to food) to get dinner from Khana. I don't know if my grandmother has ever had Indian food in her life, but we all loved everything we got! I had the Paneer Pasanda, which was nutty and creamy with a little bit of spiciness to it. I had never had that dish before but I wanted to branch out from my usual Aloo Gobis and Malai Koftas, and I'm glad I did! My aunt and grandmother split the Chicken Saag and Chicken Tikka and they had nothing to complain about! We all split the Garlic Naan and Vegetable Biryani, which was so flavorful and full of vegetables! I thoroughly enjoyed the meal from Khana, and I will make it a point to visit whenever I am in town!

My coworker and I went here and he had been here a few times before. This was my first time so I was excited to see what he has been going back for. I will have to say the food is good a flavorful but it's missing that kick. That heat that you come to expect from Indian food. Potion sizes were normal. The service was just ok. They did refill our drinks.

5/5 -- Exceptional Hospitality, Delicious Food, and True Value…read more Indian Curry Lounge absolutely deserves five stars -- not just for the food, but for the incredible hospitality, service, and value that make this place stand out in Harrisburg. I'll be honest: the location isn't the most inviting, especially at night. Walking in felt a little unusual at first -- but the moment we stepped inside, the experience completely turned around. The staff here are genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming. The chef himself even came out to talk to us, asked if everything was good, and shared his story. That personal touch really made the whole evening memorable. You can tell they care deeply about their guests. Now, the food -- fresh, flavorful, and made with care: * Noodles were made exactly as requested -- mild for my child -- and still packed with flavor. * Curries were rich and delicious without being overly oily or spicy. * Naan was fresh, light, and fluffy -- one of the better ones I've had in the area. * Dosa was crispy and simple but very satisfying with the accompanying chutneys. * Chili Paneer wasn't as spicy as I prefer, but the texture was spot-on -- crispy, well-coated, and flavorful. * Samosas were definitely worth ordering -- perfectly fried and nicely spiced. But the highlight of the entire meal was the Tokri Chaat. It came in these adorable bite-size, crispy edible baskets filled with chickpeas, chutneys, yogurt, and spices. Beautifully presented and even better in flavor -- a creative twist done perfectly. Between the warm hospitality, the thoughtful service, and the great-tasting food, Indian Curry Lounge is truly a gem. Even with the location being a little off-putting at first, the people inside make you feel at home instantly. If you're in the Harrisburg area and craving Indian food with heart behind it, give this place a try. Five stars well deserved.

We started with the pork momos as an appetizer. They were big and stuffed with a mixture of meat and some vegetables. The wrapper wasn't too thick or thin. I absolutely loved dipping it in the sauce, be careful as it is way spicier than we thought! If you've never had a momo, I would compare it to a dumpling that you may have in other Asian cultures. The pork thukpta soup was delicious. The broth was flavorful and although it looks spicy, it actually wasn't! There was a good amount of meat in it. The noodles are unique, they taste almost like a pasta. Regardless, everything was delicious and I would check it out if you're looking to try a new cuisine!

Once she gave us a table briefly went over the menu and their specialties. Listed as a Himalayan/Nepalese food place, it's more of a food from Bhutan. Their menu was very impressive. A lot of good options and the food wasn't that expensive either. Ordered Gobi 65 and Samosa Chaat for appetizers. Shrimp Fried Rice, Puri Sabji, Chicken Chow Mein and Goat Curry for the main course. Also ordered a few Mango Lassis. Even before we order, she warned us that the food will take some time to arrive since they prepare it fresh. In around 10 mins, the appetizers arrived. We opted for the Medium spice level for all the food. But it wasn't spicy at all. She give us the chili paste and the hot sauces on the side to cover it. In another 5-10 mins all the dishes were at our table. Really loved the appetizers. Flavor was really strong and loved it. Also enjoyed the Goat Curry and the Chow mein. Very flavorful. The Puri Sabji was a surprise - it was totally different from what we expected. Absolutely loved it! We were so happy that we stopped here instead of a pizza or fast food place. A worth remembering experience. The hostess was so nice and friendly. Amazing service! It's small place, but very well maintained. Casual ambiance. Locals should be really lucky to have such a nice place in their neighborhood. 5 stars from me. Highly recommended place!

My…read morehusband drives past here often for work so we decided to give it a try to see if it might be a good takeout place in the future. Ambiance 2/5: a little weird (game machines on the left of entryway when you come in, a "good vibes" neon sign with its lights off, doors a little run down) but the food is very delicious! And inexpensive (eg. a large serving of onion naan for ~$3)! The prices were so reasonable we ended up ordering way too much food. I would come back. It's its own building with a parking lot in front with plenty of spaces to park. Service: only one waitress who was manning both the register and serving all the tables. Service was a little slower since she was running everything but she was very friendly and working hard so we didn't mind. It seemed to be authentic as a lot of the other customers dining in were speaking Nepali! Food wise: My husband ordered the papadum (this is the dried lentil chips you sometimes see as appetizers at other restaurants--it it was served here with tamarind and I think mint chutney?). I'm not really a fan of papadum in general, but the sauces here were good. If you like it at other places you probably will like it here. I think this could probably be skipped (order something else as everything else we tried was quite good). House Muldani Soup: a delicious lentil soup. We were offered multiple spice options -- no, mild, medium, hot, or super hot. We picked mild which was a little too spicy for us bc it turns out we are still wimps to spice but still delicious. 4/5 Next we had the chicken biryani in mild spice level-- the chicken thigh meat was very tender and the rice well spiced. Large portions! It fed us both until we were stuffed and I'm eating it again today as leftovers -- still pretty good. It also came with cucumber raita (cucumbers in yogurt sauce) which was yummy as well and helped bring down the heat level and balance everything. 4/5 But the amazing standouts that really made Guras spice house a 5/5 overall was the incredible onion naan and malai kofta. They were DELICIOUS. This is the best naan I've ever had and it came in as a large flat bread cut into 4 quadrants -- with perfect texture and the onion flavor bursting forth. It tastes AMAZING when dipped into the malai kofta sauce -- which mind you was perfectly dreamy and creamy with a nice balance of tomato flavor. The homemade paneer dumplings were also so soft with a great texture, pairing perfectly with the sauce. Value: 5/5 - The total came out to be $42 or so for all this food and we were stuffed with plenty of leftovers. In summary, get the malai kofta and onion naan!! Also looking forward to trying the mango lassi in the future! (They also have rose water lassi which looked interesting as well)
