******EDITED****** the owner keeps deleting her response and adding new ones. To make things worst, the next day this company called me and left a voicemail for a completely different client. This is just an example of how unorganized they are. She's changed her response to my review multiple times. My thoughts stand! What law firm would leave a voicemail on the wrong number about someone else's case ??????? And then deny that ANGELA is just as unorganized as I originally mentioned, then become defensive when I leave a yelp review instead of inquiring about WHY? To respond to the latest response Ms Khan wrote, no financial information was asked over the phone so the attorney response (which has been deleted since) seems to be similar to the other responses once given a bad review. Unfortunately, constructive criticism could help a company that's willing to hear feedback but it sounds like she's never interested in it. I am a law student, so these questions had nothing to do with my financial information or not being forthcoming . The questions asked were more on a personal level, nothing regarding finances and the attorney also wasn't around and never inquired how that conversation went. Imagine not being "forthcoming" with your finances after looking to file for bankruptcy. That sounds like a self inflicted wound. It sure would have been nice to finally get to this step! This totally wasn't the case as we never proceeded past the intake paperwork, which would then open the table for discussion. Honestly I believe I was saved! This was all meant to happen before submitting payment to unorganized people Ms. Khan was initially very nice and responsive when I reached out via Yelp, but things quickly changed after the first few interactions. There was little follow-through, and our conversation remained open-ended for almost two months. When I finally got back in touch with her, I ended up speaking with her assistant, Angela, and that's where things took a turn. Angela's introduction was off-putting from the start, and she began asking questions that seemed irrelevant to the business we were handling. When I asked why she needed the information, she admitted it had no bearing on my filing. To make things worse, once she found out I was a law student, she started asking personal questions that were completely inappropriate and unrelated to my financial situation. It felt very unprofessional. Angela's approach was much more cut and Ms Con / or Khan however you choose to say it was more defensive which made the experience uncomfortable. IM SO HAPPY I DIDNT SUBMIT ANY PAYMENT After completing the intake, I followed the instructions to call, but no one responded. Despite the email stating phone hours were until 9 PM, I had to call twice and leave multiple emails and voicemails to confirm that the form was sent--nothing for days. The lack of communication and follow-through was frustrating. While Ms. Khan seems like a nice attorney, but is very defensive in the WRONG areas. The lack of professionalism and constant back-and-forth left me with no confidence in their ability to handle my case. I ended up moving forward with another firm that was far more responsive and gave me the clarity and reassurance I needed. read more

I began writing an inquiry to this firm via their website. Their site refreshed and lost my long, detailed email, or so I thought. So I sent a basic second email, explained what happened, and requested personal contact. The attorney sent me an email back saying "just call the office". So I did. Left a voicemail, asking for her to call me back. Never got a call back from her. Then the next morning, I saw that the paralegal had sent me a response to my first email which was shuffled and "lost". Still no word from the attorney. So I followed the instructions in her email and called during the paralegal's work hours. Again, left a voicemail. No response. Then left a second voicemail. Finally got a call back. Still no word from the attorney. I spoke with the paralegal who ended up answering all my questions but in the process gave me legal advice (against the law, if you are not a lawyer!!). She emailed me their package of documents and instructions. I had a question about something so I emailed her back. A day goes by. No response. By the way, still no word from the attorney. So next day I sent a second email. Then I get a response the following day, basically scolding me for sending 2 emails, as she is too "busy" and often gets to responding within "a few days" of receiving emails. Uh yeah no. Thanks but no thanks! Best of luck to them but if this firm is too "busy" to answer one question within a timely manner, then proceeds to scold potential clients for their own shortcomings, they are not for me. Mind you, still no word from the lawyer! Clearly I'm not stupid enough to use my real information on this platform. read more

This review is a little late but I am a habitual procrastinator. Alia khan and her assistant Angela are freaking amazing. I recently went through a divorce and because of the divorce I was having a hard time keeping up with paying all of our debt so I decided to seek out debt relief I have a pretty high income so I didn't think I qualified and was even told turned down by 2 other attorneys with them saying I wouldn't qualify for chapter 7. I spoke with Alia and Angela and they told me they could get my filing approved. I had doubt and like this review I procrastinated on getting them all my financial documents they asked me for but they pressured me (respectfully) and I got them what they asked for and somehow they got me approved. Honestly I just wanted to file bankruptcy so I could help more financially with my ex wife and our children I actually have less money now than before filing but I am able to feel good about supporting my children and their mother and it's just a blessing I can't even explain. My ex wife and my children are my number one priority and I'm just so grateful that Alia and Angela were able to help me get out of debt and be able to provide for 2 households. I am 100% sure that no other attorney could have motivated me or given me the hope they gave me and they came through big time. Im a big tough guy don't complain about much but I work 60 hrs a week as a ups driver and had to work after 12-14 hr days ubering just to pay for childcare and other expenses and debts when my bankruptcy was approved I cried and thanked god for putting Alia and Angela in my life. I was in a situation where debt became a piling with the help of covid halting the market I work in, I got in a situation where I couldn't pay my main bills. As soon as Wellsfargo started sending their team to sue me that's when I decided to look into bankruptcy. This being a very new and nerve wrecking experience, Alia Khan's team made it therapeutic throughout the process. I felt safe when Alia eloquently explained the process and what to expect. To make things seamless in the process, Alia will send you all the prerequisites so they can do their part efficiently. Providing all the critical information in a single exchange will reduce the amount of back and forth exchanges. Approaching the phone interview, I misconstrued some of the questions and said unnecessarily things, so definitely listen to Alia's instructions then you won't go into anxiety mode like I did. Although, even though it was on the phone, Alia will still support you throughout the process (text messages during the call).
