This is a different review than normal in that I wasn't seeing Dr. Beckstead and his staff as a…read moreclient, but rather as their CPR instructor. I've taught the BLS CPR refresher class to many dental offices and in general, they go okay. Some offices have some of the equipment that we use in class practice, and sometimes not. Instructing at Mid-Peninsula Periodontics was a refreshing change of pace as they had everything and more, and knew how to use it! This office was, by margins, the most well-equipped dental office I've taught at. Most offices only some of equipment we use for adults. This group had everything and more, to cover an emergency for adults and pediatrics. And they knew how to use it! Not all healthcare providers are created equal. Some are hesitant, timid, and to be frank, not the first responders I'd want if I was experiencing a medical emergency. That is not the case here! The team at Mid-Peninsula Periodontics are intelligent, efficient and skilled. I would send family here with the comfort of knowing they are in excellent, capable hands!

I had two lower wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee, about 1 week apart. I highly recommend Dr. Lee…read more Here's the rundown: For lower wisdom teeth extraction, there is always the risk of nerve damage. Dr. Lee has a lot of experience when it comes to evaluating this risk, and he uses surgical techniques to avoid nerve damage. That is the #1 reason why I recommend Dr. Lee for lower wisdom teeth removal. Typically, your dentist will x-ray the tooth, evaluate it, and refer you to Dr. Lee. Ask your dentist to email the x-ray to Dr. Lee. For both of my wisdom teeth, the dentist x-ray was sufficient; Dr. Lee did not need to take additional pano x-rays to evaluate the situation. Very convenient, and it avoids radiation. If your wisdom tooth is an "easy extraction" and not impacted, go for local anesthesia (Novocaine) instead of IV sedation. Dr Lee is great at injecting Novocaine and NOT hitting a nerve. During the extraction, you will not feel pain; you only feel pressure. You can drive yourself to/from the clinic, and there are fewer limitations on eating/drinking beforehand. It's also cheaper than IV sedation. During the extraction, for the lower wisdom teeth, they may use a hammer and chisel to crack the tooth into pieces before pulling out the roots; that is a little unnerving, but not a big deal. Dr Lee is fast; he extracted each tooth in about 7 minutes. Dr. Lee has an assistant in the operating room who is highly skilled; that person does quite a bit of the work (the aforementioned hammer/chisel). It is freezing cold in the operating room. Wear thick pants and a long sleeve shirt. They have a blood pressure cuff constantly checking your blood pressure, so avoid thick fleece/sweaters. For lower wisdom teeth, you'll need to irrigate the socket after eating, for up to 6 weeks; not a big deal, just be aware of it.

Thank you sooooooo very much Dr. Lee & staff! I will continue to highly recommend !!!

Everyone at Dr. Field's office exemplifies Concierge Dentristry. Think of regular commercial airlines as being the usual dentist's office - and Dr. Field's office being the latest Gulf Stream G700 private long range jet. And Dr. Field is THE BEST. What he did with my mouth is nothing short of a total transformation, health wise for my mouth , bite wise and appearance wise. My new smile (26 teeth - 12 uppers and 14 lowers) is getting praises from everyone for looking so natural and pretty! Which of course makes me smile all the time now:)

From the phone call, where the receptionist attentively answers all scheduling logistics questions, to the dedicated dental assistants and doctors who go out of their way to make every family feel totally at home- this office covers all the bases. Their warm receptionists are well-versed in checking insurance eligibility and the treatment coordinator is great about calculating accurate co-pay amounts. There are never any hidden fees or surprises for the bill, which is a welcome reprieve from all the red tape that can come with large, DSO-owned offices. It's comforting to come to a private, single proprietor owned practice, with personal accountability. It's reassuring that their financial coordinator bills out-of-network dental insurances as a courtesy to us, and the small difference in co-pay is certainly worth it, for high quality, personalized care. Their spacious waiting room has all of the necessary amenities: plenty of comfortable seating, a wide array of tea and coffee, and educational toys for the kids to play with, while waiting. The kids adore the rustic rocking horse, while they sit and watch their favorite Disney movie that's streaming on the large, flat screen TV. To our pleasant surprise, all of the children, even for filling appointments, happily follow the caring dental assistants back into the clinical room. No child looks anxious, which is rare, given that this is a dental setting. This is such a huge relief for parents, who can totally relax and have confidence when allowing their children to follow the RDA into the clinical area. The assistants and dental associates are all calibrated to deliver the same, high quality dental care that Dr. Cindy prides her team in. Dr. Omid is so gentle and soft-spoken. Dr. Ivan Lee places stunning cosmetic restorations on baby and adult teeth. He is an absolute perfectionist. Dr. Andrew Huang has this soothing and calming effect on even the most nervous kids. He's very thorough with exams, and clearly explains every finding. All of their dentists do excellent treatment, such that even the most fearful children have no reservations about moving forward and returning. I have no reservation about recommending this practice for kids and young adults alike. Everyone leaves with a beautiful, healthy smile here!

I truly dread going to dentists, oral surgeons or anyone else who messes inside my mouth. I've had…read morethis fear for over 50 years so it's pretty well cemented at this stage. Nonetheless, I had to go to an oral surgeon because I cracked a wisdom tooth and, as my dentist put it, that one's a goner. My dentist highly recommended Dr. Mogre. I turned up with great fear and trepidation to a consult meeting with Dr.Mogre. The man entered the room, and with him came wave of calm and a sense that I was in the presence of a real professional. We spoke of the offending wisdom tooth, that it needed to go, and he went through the procedure in great detail, how to prepare for it, what medications he was going to prescribe before the procedure, the healing process and so on. The more he spoke, the more relaxed I became. He's a man who got my trust quickly. Then came D-Day and despite the best efforts of valium, I was a bundle of nerves. Again, Dr. Mogre walked me through what he was going to be doing and explained that the only pain I would feel was the anesthetic needle, after which I would feel nothing but a sense of pressure and some noise. He was right about the needle hurting but they always do. He was right that I wouldn't feel any pain once the anesthetic had set in. He went into my mouth with some weird looking steel instrument and less than 60 seconds later, the tooth was out. Then there was the usual dose of suction, water jets, more suction followed by a gauze installed over the wound which I was to bite and hold for an hour and change as needed for a fresh one. At times during the procedure, including the anesthetic injection, my fear was very apparent. He was very conscious of and tuned into my fear and spoke encouragingly and gently to me and that really helped me get through it. He has, as a my mother would say, a very soothing bedside manner. And that was it. All done. Quick, where's the door! In all seriousness, he is the best doctor I've ever been too. Some people are good at what they do, others are just plain gifted. Dr. Mogre is the latter. I would highly recommend that if you need to go to an oral surgeon in Silicon Valley, go to Dr. Mogre. He is really really good.

Wisdom teeth removal from the doctor went well. Office staff was ok. Having trouble understanding…read morethe billing department though. ---- My in-network dentist referred me to this office for wisdom teeth removal. I made an appointment for a consultation in June. You likely will not be seen at the time you've booked as a lot of other appointments go over. Paid $100 for a CT scan on my consultation day, and got an estimated bill of charges for what they were gonna do. I was ok scheduling a bit earlier and paying a higher portion of the final charge while they waited for my insurance co-pays to be authorized. (Mistake! :'D) 2 weeks later, I get my procedure done with local anesthesia. Waited an 45 mins past my appointment time, but it went fairly quick when I was seen and wasn't too painful during and afterwards. Got instructions for aftercare and a follow up call from the doctor. It's been healing ok. Now as for the Billing Department.... 1 month after my procedure I get a copy of my EOB Authorization from my insurance. I'm reading it like ok cool I should have no existing balance, but the authorization date threw me off... it was submitted after my procedure instead of when I initially visited for the consultation? Then to my surprise, the office also sent me a bill showing that the copays I was authorized for... did not apply? Instead it showed a very low "insurance payment" and "write off." They were basically asking for me to pay the "remaining" full procedure amount 2 months after. I contacted billing and they said something along the lines of my insurance claim had a mistake and they were going to try to get them (my insurance) to revise it. OK... Sounds like that should be straightforward. Another month passes and I am billed the same amount from their office. Getting the same run around, so called my insurance directly and they are telling me the office got a payment for the claim in June...... And the codes match the procedures I had done...... So I am having a hard time understanding why I still have a high outstanding balance..... Insurance was a lot more helpful with trying to get it resolved, but :| getting conflicting information. Will update if they are still charging me this balance in the next few months, as I see other reviews seem to have a similar experience.
