I have no idea why someone would give Dr. Kahn! I have been seeing him for 11 years, and he is totally awesome.

Her actions, alongside those of Jade and Janet, played a crucial role in saving my life. Dr. Rayne is the only doctor I have ever met whom I trust implicitly; in fact, I followed her from her previous location because finding someone you can truly open up to is so rare. I also want to recognize Jade and Janet, who were my first points of contact. Their patience is truly remarkable, and they showed genuine concern, compassion, and consideration during an incredibly difficult time. As the frontline of the practice, they hold the line with such grace and professionalism. To this incredible team: You have done more than just provide medical care; you have provided a sanctuary of safety and kindness. In a world where it is often hard to find people who truly care, you have been my North Star. Thank you for not just doing your jobs, but for doing them with your whole hearts.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The staff here are…read morecompletely unempathetic and respond like scripted robots rather than real people addressing genuine concerns. Trying to reach upper management is pointless--calls are never returned, and the corporate number provides no answers. Their providers are dishonest and unhelpful. This place feels like nothing more than a money grab, focused solely on pushing more and more medication instead of addressing real issues or listening to patients' needs. If I were in a truly dark place, this facility would have pushed me further over the edge rather than helping me out of it. They show no genuine care or compassion for their patients. The moment you raise valid questions or concerns, they label you as noncompliant, discharge you, and use it to cover themselves. It's deeply disheartening that people working in mental health could be so unconcerned about the wellbeing of those they're supposed to help. I do not recommend this place to anyone.I

Overcharging for services…read more My account was charged using a CPT code for a "non-manipulation treatment," resulting in a total charge that grossly exceeded what other reputable medical offices charge for the same service. When I disputed this excessive charge, the Billing Supervisor, the person with a professional interest in collecting the money--was the only individual allowed to review and confirm the charge was "correct." They provided no independent patient advocate for oversight, which is standard practice elsewhere. Patients paying out-of-pocket or with high deductibles should seek alternative providers with more equitable fees.

Zephyrhills location / suite 123…read more I've been a patient of Dr. Hicks for about five years. I first started seeing her at the Forecare facility in Tampa, and when she moved to Florida Medical Clinic, I immediately followed her. She has always been professional, patient, and takes the time to explain procedures thoroughly. Her bedside manner is excellent. However, I'm writing this review based on the service I received at the Zephyrhills location -- which was the worst healthcare experience I've ever had. The review is a bit long, but wanted to provide the details. I have a cyst in a very sensitive area that had become unbearable. I called the Wiregrass location (where I normally go) and spoke to Dr. Hicks' nurse to schedule an appointment for a cortisone shot to relieve the pain and inflammation. She was able to get me in at the Zephyrhills location. Unfamiliar with this location, I completed my registration and paid my co-pay online prior to the visit. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00 AM, and I arrived 15 minutes early. When I checked in, the first receptionist (#1) told me that the doctor was running 15 minutes behind. I said that was fine and took a seat in the waiting area. Around 11:15 AM, receptionist #1 announced to the waiting room that the doctor was now running 45 minutes late. She told us we could reschedule if we weren't able to wait. At 11:20 AM, I approached the counter and asked the second receptionist (#2) if there were any openings next week. I explained that I had driven an hour to get there and needed to return to work. While we were reviewing the schedule, receptionist #1 joined us. I asked her how long it would be before I was seen -- would it be around 12:00 PM, or were there still people ahead of me? She said four patients were ahead of me, and I should be seen around noon. I told both receptionists I would keep the appointment. Around 11:30 AM, I stepped outside to call my boss and grab a bottle of water and a snack from my car. I was gone for about 15 minutes. When I returned at 11:45 AM, the waiting area was empty. I approached receptionist #1, and she gave me a hard time. She asked where I had gone and why I had left. She also claimed she had told me I'd be taken back to an exam room right away -- which contradicted what she'd said earlier about the delay and the four patients ahead of me. I explained that I hadn't canceled or walked out of the appointment -- I had simply stepped outside to call my boss and grab water. I asked to still be seen. She muttered something and went to speak with the staff. I waited a few more minutes and asked receptionist #2 for an update. She said they were reviewing my chart and would let me know shortly. At 12:00 PM, a nurse called me back to an exam room. Dr. Hicks saw me, and I thanked her. What struck me as unusual was that no one apologized for the delay. Normally, when a doctor is running late, the staff offers a brief apology, and patients understand -- we move on. But I received no apology at all. In fact, after my appointment, I was asked to wait again because the office manager wanted to speak with me. Before she came in, the nurse told me I had walked away from my appointment. I told her that wasn't true and that she was misinformed. She insisted she had been there when the receptionist told me I'd be brought back immediately -- which is simply not true. She must have mistaken me for someone else, because I only spoke with the two receptionists at the front desk. After I got dressed, the office manager entered the exam room. Rather than trying to understand what had happened, she immediately accused me of walking out on my appointment and claimed I had been gone for 30 minutes. I calmly explained that I had stepped out to call my boss and get some water, and I was gone no more than 15 minutes. I reminded her that I had told the receptionists I was keeping the appointment. She didn't seem interested in hearing my side and kept repeating that walking out would not be tolerated. At this point, I was extremely upset -- not just because of the accusations and lack of empathy, but because the painful issue I had come in for was still top of mind. Rather than focusing on patient care, the office manager, receptionist #1, and the nurse seemed more interested in having the last word and asserting authority over a simple misunderstanding. This experience was disappointing and stressful -- especially at a time when I was in pain and seeking help. I truly hope this location improves their communication and patient care moving forward. I won't be back to this location.

Florida Medical Clinic Behavioral Health - Nov 2020: Where ADHD computerized testing is done

I have read the negative reviews online, & you should, too, before making your decision to schedule…read morehere. All I can do is rate my personal experience, which wasn't horrible but definitely could have been better. (This review is NOT for the doctor I see for my ADHD Rx; it is for the overall office experience.) I chose this office for ADHD testing due to its location to my Pasco County home & my North Tampa employer, & because my insurance covers so few mental health providers. Getting an initial appointment required a few phone calls, & a LENGTHY medical history-- the form was emailed to me, but had to be printed & walked into the office because I was unable to fill it out online (glitch?). After taking it into the office, I was good to go for my first actual in-office visit w/ the psychiatrist (appox one wk later). The morning of my appt, I was phoned & switched to a Zoom appointment due to the doctor's "emergency." That format was not what I wanted, but it was what I got-- & it went fine. The female doc was very nice. However, there were definite issues between my wonderful primary care office & this office that should have never occurred or at least been corrected quickly-- but were not. It took multiple phone calls to assure my ekg results were received by this office; I shouldn't have had to do any legwork. Two wks later I appeared for my first scheduled in-office appointment & this office still did not have what it needed from my primary care office (thru no fault of my PCP). I had even spoken via phone to two staffers over a 2-wk time period reminding each that a specific written request needed to be faxed to my PCP. Ugh. Thankfully, the friendly doc here insisted I not be charged for my short visit w/ her-- short because she couldn't prescribe without clearance from my PCP; she summoned the office manager to work on getting the OK from my primary care doc. I did receive ADHD computerized testing the same day (due only to a patient cancelation). The test (approx 40 min) was very difficult & frustrating, but I suppose if one does not suffer from a severe case of Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder it might be fun. (I seriously almost cried-- I hated it!) The doc came through for me again; she phoned me w/ my test results on her day off so I could pick up needed meds that next evening. (Wicked insomnia can go hand-in-hand w/ ADHD.) I had a Zoom follow-up appt scheduled two days later; however, 12 minutes prior to my appt, staff phoned me to say it was canceled due to the doctor's "emergency." I had to wait two additional weeks for another Zoom appointment-- a physical appt was not offered unless I could go during work hours. The building is large. This 2nd floor office is clean, orderly, peaceful (w/ music, & w/ the wall TVs off), & staff is friendly enough, although there is no warm & fuzzy here-- there could be improvement. Be forewarned, the main floor receptionist WILL send you to the 3rd floor by mistake-- twice:-) Each time a patient is to meet w/ a doctor here, there is an annoying online check-in (series of questions) that must be completed prior to each & every appointment whether the appt is in the office or online. (Some questions reference depression & suicide-- questions that are irrelevant to why I'm serviced by this office.) There's also a hefty charge for not canceling an appt w/in 48 hrs, yet staff may chancel patient appointments w/o repercussions. There appears to be disorganization among the clerical team. Had I not used my own time to intervene, I'm unsure if my ekg results would have arrived. I also wasn't thrilled about showing up two wks later for my 1st in-office doctor's appt when this staff still hadn't managed to get an OK from my primary care doc for me to be prescribed ADHD medication. (There was no reason for my visit w/o staff having first secured permission-- I should have been notified before driving over.) Should you select this office & one of its many mental health doctors, be prepared to Zoom. From the empty waiting area & lack of available in-office appointments, it appears that in-person appointments are not a priority. You may be OK w/ that; I prefer face-to-face. Will I select this office again if I have another issue requiring a psychiatrist? MAYBE. I like the personality of the doctor I see & I appreciate her not charging me for my first in-office appointment & offering an apology. I also appreciate that she phoned me quickly w/ my test results. And I love the location of this Bruce B. Downs office & the ease of its large parking lot. Do I think there's room for improvement? Absolutely! Do I think it's worthy of continued patronage? Yes, but w/ some reservations. I'm going to wait & see how all of this plays out. Hopefully, I will be able to up the star count.
