I hired the KGT to remodel a master bathroom on February 2, 2026. First meeting they required $4,000 down payment. By April I only got schematic drawings and invested more than 20,000 as they kept asking for more down payments as each meeting/drawing happened. By May still no work and no permits. I went and picked out all plumbing , counters tops, cabinets, flooring hardware, etc. They said the remodel won't start until late summer early fall leading into October. They could not give me a definite time frame. The last meeting the cost doubled to $190,000 for one Master bathroom . I cancelled the contract. Now I'm 20,000 in debt. We hired this builder for a full home remodel that began in January. This was a $500,000+ remodel, and we were told to plan on a 4-5-month timeline, so we purchased a camper to live in during construction. Unfortunately, the project dragged on far beyond what was promised. We finally moved back into our home after 6 months, even though construction was still incomplete, and we ended up living through the remainder of the work. Sadly, this remodel ended up involving an attorney, and we ultimately had to hire another company to fix mistakes and complete unfinished work. * Whole-wall entertainment center was installed 4" off-center relative to the wall and tray ceiling * Dining room accent art/light was installed 2" off-center from the cabinetry * Ceiling paint began peeling after only 4 months * Decorative ceiling beams in the kitchen began falling apart, and the center beam wasn't even centered over the island. They had to be replaced and repositioned after a lengthy battle with the owner, Greg * The island pendants didn't work with the beams and had to be reordered. We were charged $850 for freight for replacement lights * Now we experience electrical issues such as kitchen lights flickering when hot water is used in the sink, dishwasher, and washer, which is extremely concerning. * Kitchen and utility cabinet doors were designed/installed so they bang into the refrigerator and wall * The kitchen sink didn't fit properly, we were charged to replace it ($210) * Rollout shelves didn't function because they failed to account for the garbage disposal, we were charged ($400) * Oven/microwave cabinet was designed incorrectly. They had to cut the cabinetry apart just to make the appliances fit * Dog water bowl faucet was installed sticking out past the bowl -- we were forced to replace it with a hinged faucet ($850) * Communication was nonexistent throughout the project Bottom line: for a project of this size and cost, we expected quality workmanship, professional project management, and basic attention to detail, and that is not what we received. This remodel was costly, stressful, and far beyond the promised timeframe, and we would not recommend this builder. read more

January 24, 2025 I wish you could see my beautiful, new Pelican Bay kitchen. It is a dream come true made possible by the genius and competence of our builder, KGT Remodeling of Naples. We purchased an older condo in 2021 with an ancient kitchen that showed the wear and inconveniences of its 1980's styling. If you have toured property in Pelican Bay, you know the look: outdated cabinets, cracked tile floor, deafening dishwasher and a slanting, coil burner stove. It all had to go, but what a daunting project. Once we had completed other work like new windows and floors, we contacted Gregg Ulrich of KGT Remodeling and scheduled an onsite visit and evaluation for a new kitchen. From the beginning of our association, Gregg was encouraging and professional. He is a construction veteran with deep experience in renovating Naples properties. Gregg photographed and measured every angle and surface of our old kitchen and after a few weeks, presented us with a plan to move forward on renovation. The plan included ingenious solutions to issues such as the relocation of vent pipes, the expansion of counter space by moving a cumbersome pantry closet, and the thoughtful positioning of appliances. Through all phases of our project, KGT was there to help and reassure. They offer hands on advice and assistance in the selection of cabinets, countertops, sink, faucets, etc. through their design staff. In our case we worked with Gregg's daughter, Ally, a wonderful and knowledgable kitchen designer. All interaction with KGT's front office regarding scheduling and other issues was friendly and efficient. Their office liaison, Janay, answered all our calls with a smile. And I can't close without mentioning our amazing project manager, Bill. He supervised our renovation as if it had been his own home. While no remodel is prefect in the construction process, the finished product from KGT is perfectly beautiful. The team at KGT works with the owner to create the design plan, guides the construction activity, follows up to secure positive results and is there for months after the finish to assure the quality of the work. This past fall we had water damage that triggered a renovation of our kitchen, living/dining area and lanai of our two bedroom condo. Due to the recent hurricane, contractors were overwhelmed with demand. Our first two contractor contacts left a lot to be desired. Fortunately we noticed the KGT advertisement, noted their most recent Sand Dollar awards and decided to give them a try. From our first call, we were pleased with the professionalism of the KGT team. We had a vision for the space which was quickly grasped by Greg and Teresa, the KGT principals. Greg was able to put our ideas into his computer software and make constructive suggestions for opening the space. We were able to get a real feel for what was about to happen and develop a realistic plan to get it done. Every detail of lighting, plumbing, and electrical outlets was captured in detailed plans that were needed for the necessary permits. Theresa guided us through the choices of materials for floors, counters and cabinets. Selections were made and documented to keep everyone in agreement and on schedule. We had our share of bumps as work progressed but the communication with Daniel, the Lead Carpenter, by phone, text and email using the Buildertrend website was excellent We are pleased to say that the final product is beautiful, efficient and exceeds our expectations. read more
