Since this is the "Best Kebab & Fish Bar" I'm a little surprised that I'm the first to review it!…read more I used to live in an apartment right above this place, enjoying the savory aroma of Kebab all day and all night, and hearing the joyful scuffles and banter of drunk hooligans while they scarfed down kebabs after the pubs closed. I ate there almost every day. "George Bush!!" yelled the Turkish/Kurdish cooks when I entered. They liked to call me that because I'm American. I tried to convince them to support the creation of a Kurdistan homeland independent of the Turks, but they just stared at me blankly, waiting for me to order. The best food they have there is the Doner Kebab, sliced off of that huge tasty revolving hunk of meat. Some people might be concerned about eating meat un-refrigerated for weeks on end, but I don't care. The heat lamp was sure to kill most of the bacteria. The fries are good, but like most "chips" in England a bit too soggy. I would have the guys cook my chips extra long to suit my tastes. The cooks would do anything I ask - which I like. They tried to get me to buy their baklava, claiming it would provide me with sexual powers. I tasted it once - didn't notice any change. I liked this place so much that when I left England I gave them my TV.

Lovely, lovely kebabs and deliver for free too. I love them all but especially the chicken which is…read morejust delicuious. The salad is the best out of all the kebab shops around. You get so much of it and a lovely creamy coleslaw too. Well worth the money, try a large mixed - you'll never have to eat again!!!

This is a nice Nando's, I did originally struggle to get a table being refused at first, I was lucky enough to be passing later on and noticed a few extra tables to dine in; with it being a Saturday in December, it was understandably very busy, considering this they did a very good job not to let standards slip in terms of service and food quality. the manager who served me was very friendly and the other employees were presentable. It was a little difficult getting to the toilets at the back due to how busy it was. I ordered a Medium Chicken Butterfly with Peri Chips, Creamy Mash and gravy, which came to £14. I do find Nando's a tad expensive for what it is, but with this delivering a good meal and being one of the few places nearby, I could get a table and be in and out quickly, it was worth the price on this occasion. The chicken was cooked well, the gravy went perfectly with the mash, which I always find to be lacking something. It is a shame the gravy is only seasonal. A pretty good Nando's location. 4*

Oh I do like this Nando's! I prefer this one compared to the Nando's further up the High Street!…read more I love the decor! I love the Lights in wine bottle's and the knitted colourful lamp shades all very quirky. Very clean Nando's with great African/South American music love it! The staff are friendly, but a little impatient even when not busy, but preferably due to their boredom they want you to leave......well me and my friend were their for over 3 hours! The Mediterranean salad with chicken was devine!

This place sounded so good! I found it via Tastecard because they offer (at time of review) a 50%…read morediscount - even for large groups - which is pretty awesome. My beef with this place (excuse the pun) was the terrible service. I had initially booked for 10, but on the day called to see if we could reduce the number and arrive a bit earlier. The man on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived the waiter obviously hadn't been told because he was quite confused how to deal with our smaller group arriving early. I'll point out now that we went on a Sunday night and the place was at about 50% capacity. While we waited for a friend to arrive we decided to get starters and drinks. The bottle of wine arrived open, which is not ideal but not a major issue. The starters/sides were quite average. We shared them between us but there was no offer of plates so sharing them got messy very quickly. After we'd finished our starters the waiter asks if we could order our mains. We asked for a few minutes to check on our friend because she was due to arrive any minute, but just a minute later he's asking again because of something to do with how the kitchen organises itself. Remember, it's a Sunday and they were not busy. Thankfully my friend walked through the door at that precise moment. The saving grace of this restaurant is the wide selection of exotic meats. There are the safe options of beef and chicken or you can try wild boar, water buffalo, springbok, crocodile and more. My late friend quickly chose but at this point the waiter had almost lost attention and it was quite difficult to get him to come over (not for the first time). All mains come on a hot stone with chips and salad. The plates are very big and because he'd put 5 on us on a table for 4 we did struggle to fit them on. I like the idea of the hot stone but it is a low-effort meal for the kitchen who only need to cook chips and heat the stone. For this reason I cannot fathom why the waiter was pressuring us into ordering our mains befroe our final diner had arrived. On the plus side, my water buffalo was good, but since I was the one cooking it I'm not sure how much credit they deserve. The Tastecard discount made it worthwhile, however, everything but the meat was average at best and the service was appalling.
