Both doors were locked so I stood to the side and waited until an occupant exited. Remember how I indicated that there was really no traffic in the restaurant and it was quite dead so the only individuals who were on the premises besides the employees were myself and 2 occupants inside the facilities. I think one other person was with one of these occupants and making it 4 total "patrons" inside the restaurant. Now after waiting approximately 3 to 4 minutes, an occupant exited and I went inside. As I was inside the most private place *legally speaking* that any guest of a commercial establishment could be allowed to use, in less time than I spent waiting on a person to exit, I saw the door handle moving (attempt to open). so I figured it was another guest that would realize the door was locked because someone else was inside. I did not react or respond. Very shortly after the indication of door handle movement, someone started to knock on the door. again I didn't react or respond as I have the right to use the facilities just how everyone else does. The initial knocking was unusual but not alarming. The continuous knocking escalated to the point of banging loudly as if it was an emergency or as if it was LE. As the second round of knocking continued, a person shouts something to the effect of, "IM GOING TO OPEN THE DOOR, THIS IS THE MANAGER"! Which is not only inappropriate this is unlawful conduct and/or highly illegal. So I respond in a controlled manner "I am using the restroom". I really wanted to say, "please do so I would love for you to give me a reason to sue you!" Either directly and/or vicariously. although I knew the vicarious liability factor would have gone way over her head. I decided to just document this event by preserving the record accordingly just in case I decide to make this matter formal by forwarding a complaint to the appropriate sources instead of communicating my concerns with incompetent individual or individuals (employees) in the restaurant . Now after I said that I was using the restroom aka occupying the facilities, **crickets**. Pure silence. even after I walked out of the restroom, there was no one outside waiting on me to exit. presumably explain the severity of "the managers" concerns or the emergency situation that could have possibly created the urgent need to wrongfully violate my privacy rights in this manner. As a result of this unnecessary encounter, I decided NOT to order a burrito bowl directly at the counter. I mean who would patronize this restaurant after an extremely unnecessary encounter by a "manager" who is not only incompetent but unreasonably informed about the fact that a MANAGER is just another entry level EMPLOYEE, that can be EASILY replaced. The good news is that in CA there is no law that enables a "manager" aka employee with EXTRA statutory rights to forcibly enter a restroom while a patron is occupying the facility. Even if there was an emergency or a serious urgency to trespass, an employee is NOT immune from civil liability.
