Okay, I haven't been to it as often as I should, but that probably has something to do with there being closer options to where I used to live. However, this place does do a decent roast chicken, and there is also a pretty decent selection of salads as well. Luckily it's the latter!! Their combo deals very reasonably priced and their steak sandwiches are fantastic. I'm sure we've all had those steak sandwiches where the steak is like rubber or tough and fatty. Well that wasn't the case with the one I had which melted in my mouth and was very easy to eat. I suppose it has to compete with the also rather cheap Roman Pizza next door. Both places are well priced, so it really depends on what you feel like. You can get chicken, chips, chicken hot packs, chicken rolls, you know where I'm going with this. Like every chicken shop they offer their own takes on these classic favourites, and it's always worth visiting any chicken shop once just to see their interpretation of these menu items. The reason I like to visit is for the salads! Almost every chicken shop makes their own salads, or at least, some of the salads. Select Chicken is no different. It's the quality of the salads that makes all the difference. I'm done with coleslaw and potato salad variations. What I enjoy here is the kabana salad which is primarily kabana, capsicum, and onion. Or maybe it's the rice salad, or one of the other continental salads on display. Even if you don't want chicken or chips, go for the salads. They're a good healthy option and they're reasonably priced too!!

In a way this place has always been around, and has been transformed from a fish and chip shop to a chicken shop and back to a fish and chip shop. Anyway, since I was back in Adelaide for a little while, I thought that it would be quite appropriate to visit this place to check out their fish and chips, and I have to admit that this latest incarnation is actually pretty good - in fact the chips were really nice, as was the fish. It's a friendly little place with some lovely staff. The lack of decent salad selection was a bit disappointing for me, but then again we all have different tastes. Maybe you won't have a problem with what's there. That is however the only gripe I have. The prices are pretty decent and the range is what you'd expect from a chicken shop. While there's nothing to really set it apart from the competition, I actually really like this place. I'm struggling to think why though... The prices are on par for a chip place and the quality of the chicken was just average. I got the half chicken and chips for 12.50 and the amount of food i got fit the price just nice. 3 stars for me not for quality or service but just because there is nothing to stand this place out to anywhere else. Whether it's right or wrong, you can probably guess by the name of the place that Bellezza specialises in chicken. If you love roast chicken then this is the place for you. I hope I'm not making this sound like a plan old boring chicken shop though, because it isn't!! Trust me!! Bellezza sell a lot of home made specialties. My personal suggestion is to try their chicken curry salad which combines shaved roast chicken, some capsicum and other salads, and a curry sauce... absolutely delightful!! While I'm making suggestions, I also recommend a roast chicken roll (once again, with real roast chicken) with mayo and hot chilli sauce. You can also buy yiros packs and some very large burgers!! Unfortunately they're not at the front of Mawson Lakes so they sadly tend to be ignored. It's worth a short walk to the back of the area to give them a try though. For those who haven't experienced an AB, it's basically a tray of chips with yiros meat on top and then sauce. Hollywood BBQ Chicken have all the usual staples offered by a chicken shop. You have chicken rolls, hot packs, quarter chickens and chips. You know the score by now. It's their take on the AB that sets them apart. The initial formula is the same: chips, with yiros meat and sauces. The main differences are in the meat and sauces. The meat just tastes different. It's hard to explain, but it's very pleasant. The sauces are strong and punchy and leave a nice aftertaste. There's not much special about the rest of the menu. It's the same sort of stuff you'd get anywhere, which isn't a bad thing! Don't get me wrong! The ABs however are definitely worth the try!

Well, this place wasn't all that bad, though it certainly isn't one of the best Fish and Chip shops that I have gone to to check out their fries. I have never been in to Colonel Sams without at least 5 people in front of me, and it isn't because they are slow and I never eat fast food on public holidays! Colonel Sams is definately the balls! they always have a minimum of 6 people working behind the counter on the grills and prep areas and the food is usually up lickedy split! I have also had a burger from them (like Paul M), but I went for the beef variety. It did fall apart for me, but that was no fault of the burger nor those who made it. I was just inhaling that sucker....it never stood a chance! I also really like the hotdogs (I never order Chicken from a Chicken shop, I'm weird like that!).
