My husband rarely has a preference when it comes to dining and is generally happy to go with whatever I'm feeling at the time (bless him), tonight however, he specifically wanted fish and chips. Being the first time he has specified anything on the dinner front (and he's currently injured), I was willing to commit to the purchase of fish of chips... I had no idea how many fish and chips shops aren't open on a Monday!!! By the time I got to Chicken Knight (fish and chip shop #7) I was just thrilled they were opened and accept EFT, so my review rating may be slightly affected by the joy of that point alone.
The service wasn't particularly friendly, quite terse actually but not rude and it was certainly efficient. I was served quickly and received my order quickly.
They have a dining area inside as well as an ATM which is convenient.
The chips from here are nice (it's been a while since I've had chips and I am still recovering from how much they charge for what is essentially potato pieces dipped in oil now! But that's apparently standard), they were crunchy and golden on the outside with fluffy white, potato cloud centres.
The fish was "meh", it wasn't oily but the serve was small and can't say much for it really. I didn't dislike it.
At the end of the day, it wasn't a fine dining experience - it was a casual fish and chip, take out, chuck the chips on bread and butter and your set, eating experience and it hit the spot as a once off cheeky, cheat meal. read more
