I don't remember the saying but it's something like first time your bad second time my bad. Well I've been duped at this location several times. I wouldn't be as upset if I was paying about $3 for my meal ( 2 piece chicken with mash potatoes and a biscuit. But my chicken was more like a cornish hen. The drumstick was so tiny it was like a buffalo wing and the other piece wasn't much bigger. This is unacceptable and this location has seen the last of me. Some business get to make a turn around and redeem themselves! That's called better management! This KFC has done that during the years Places like this go through a lot of changes and then you have Covid where you have to close your dining room. Then you add on employee shortage because everyone in the state doesn't wanna go back to work just yet! So what are you do is switch to Foley drive-through service only. I have to say the lines are long but the service is always with a smile and you get a thank you for spending money here. The food is fresh tasting at least when it comes to that fried chicken, which is of course why we come here right! Good job KFC he had some good people working hopefully you get the right people you need to re-open the dining room and the service can continue. Assembly line chicken with all that entails-small, irregularly cleaned and always crowded. The Ruskin location sits beside Mac Donald's and the parking lot can get backed up. I have to agree with other reviewers This KFC is the worst. Took 30 minutes to get food. They served food to workers getting off, or on break before customers. Car in drive thru was waiting when we got there and still waiting when we left. Multiple diners inside were clearly unhappy the family next to hours said "i would go ask for a box to take this to go but its probably going to take another 30 minutes to get it" 3 of 6 workers were on break during a late dinner rush around 8pm on a Thursday night. we left and there were probably 8 people in line waiting to order Girl at register was clearly not happy to be there. I get it its service work not the greatest but the job is to at-least smile and make people feel welcome. No Napkins or utensils available had to ask for them, BUT they were too busy running around the back to help anyone. There were 3 workers on break at the same time (teenagers, clearly it was busy they were behind but they did not run back to help out. The kitchen area was filthy food spilled on the floor, (again 6 or 7 workers teenagers were in back goofing off) The food itself seemed fine, But this was such a turn off that I will never go back to KFC. The worst two pieces of chicken I ever had in my entire life. They were burnt, dry and very little meat on the extra crispy breast or thigh. If the manager cared about quality the would have thrown them out many hours before I arrived instead of serving them to a customer. Which I am not now as I will never return to that KFC. Of course having the dining room closed you don't know what you got unit you get home. They probably have it closed on purpose just for that reason as every other restaurant in the area has their dining room open. I wonder why I come here, although this might only be my second time. The restaurant is messy as staff doesn't clean the tables (although customers should clean up after themselves) and the floors are dirty. We opted for the buffet, which does have a nice variety of food, except that there is never chicken sitting there. You have to ask and then wait.....annoying. Everything else on the buffet is hot and tastes just like the meals you may get instead of buffet. It really is the cleanliness issue that will now keep me away. Honestly this place is ok, and the food is usually good whenever we go. Once in a while during a rush you might get chicken that's a tad cold but usually it's hot and fresh. I like this location better than other KFCs, like the one in Riverview off of 301 tends to have really slimy old tasting chicken for some reason, but this one does much better, in my opinion. They have a great value for the food you get too, like we usually get one of the $5 boxes and it's delicious. Even comes with a cookie. :3 I would say they do ok on cleaning, like the place isn't a total mess when we go but could probably be a little better on the upkeep... The one thing that bothers me the most about this place is that ALL of their tables in the dining area are wobbly! Like every single one, you cannot just move to another table because it will always be the same or even worse. It's ridiculous and they need to fix this problem. This location reminds me why I haven't eaten KFC in years. When my I walked in I was in immediate disgust. The dining area was filthy and there wasn't a single clean table. The trash cans were over-flowing and there was trash on the ground. The buffet had crusted food that had clearly been there for hours upon hours probably sitting at unsafe temperatures. I ordered the chicken tender combo with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The food was cold other than the tenders. The only reason I agreed to stay is because my grandfather had his heart set on the chicken. The drink station was a mess and the tray on the machine was full and close to flooding. The place also smelled like dirty wet rags. All in all I feel as if the problem was due to being understaffed as the girl behind the register was also responsible for cleaning the lobby. This KFC has a buffet, chicken is put out hot as needed. The workers are nice, they wear gloves. The dining area is clean, we went at lunch and the tables were wiped. I prefer to use the drive thru here and get orders to go, but they do offer a all you can eat buffet inside for about $8. The food we get to go has always been hot and tasted good, except for the slaw we recently got with a 20 piece original meal. The slaw was dry and not the cool creamy yummy cole slaw that we normally get from KFC. The mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, and chicken were all hot and tasty. Their chicken and meals do cost more than going to a grocery store for hot ready to eat fried chicken, but KFC is much higher quality, so you get what you pay for, usually. read more
